Foodstuffs announces opening of its new store in Raglan, New Zealand

Auckland, New Zealand, 2014-7-4 — /EPR Retail News/ — Foodstuffs is thrilled to confirm that its new Raglan Four Square is open. While the previous Four Square closed its doors in August 2012 Foodstuffs has remained 100% committed to the Raglan community and is delighted to be bringing the Four Square brand back.

New owners Ken and Lesley Curtis have been busy managing the construction of the new 350m2 store which is just going through its final approval with council. The new store promises to bring a fresh shopping experience to the Raglan community. Four Square is renowned for providing convenient shopping and the Curtis’ promise to deliver on this and more.

“Customers can expect to find all the great Kiwi brands they need, along with fresh produce and meat. And all at great prices,” promises Ken. He has had a lot of customers enquire as to whether Pams and Budget will be stocked at the store and Ken can confirm that they will a key part of the offering.

Ken started off his grocery career at the tender age of 13, at Cambridge New World as a spud boy packing potatoes before moving on to Hillcrest New World and PAK’nSAVE Mill Street as a grocery buyer. Following this, and encouraged by PAK’nSAVE Mill Street’s owner, Glen Miller, he purchased his first store, Four Square Waihi Beach. A move to Pirongia followed before he found himself with the opportunity to build Four Square Raglan.

“Both Lesley and I are thrilled to be able deliver the iconic Four Square offering to Raglan and we look forward to getting to know our customers,” says Ken. “On a personal front my son, Sean, will also be joining me in running the store which I am really looking forward to. He has just finished his training at PAK’nSAVE Te Awamutu and becoming a part of the family business is something he is very excited about.”

In time the store also hopes to be able to support to the wider community. “It’s important to give back and we hope to support local initiatives where we can,” says Ken.

Four Square Raglan will employ eight part time staff and is located at 3 Bankart Street, Raglan and has 14 customer car parks for added convenience.
