Lindex donates 10% of March 8 sales to HERhealth to provide health education and training to female textile workers

Sweden, 2017-Mar-10 — /EPR Retail News/ — On March 8 Lindex endorses International Women’s Day by highlighting female textile workers and HERhealth; an initiative that provides health education and training to female textile workers. Lindex will donate 10% of the sales during March 8 to HERhealth.

It’s the women that keep our business moving at Lindex. The majority of our customers, our employees and the textile workers who make our clothes, are women. We want to endorse International Women’s Day with our customers and employees and highlight the women who make our clothes, says Sara Winroth, Sustainability Manager at Lindex.

Lindex has been working together with HERhealth since 2012 to improve the female textile workers conditions. HERhealth is an initiative managed by BSR (Business for Social Responsibility). The initiative provides health education and training for female textile workers to increase their awareness of health issues and access to health services. Since Lindex started working with HERhealth, they have reached about 13000 women in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan with health education and training.

“HERhealth is an initiative very close to our heart at Lindex. We have been committed for several years and to reach even more women, we will donate 10% of our sales on International Women’s Day to HERhealth”, says Sara Winroth, Sustainability Manager at Lindex.

The donation will be used for HERhealth projects in Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar. Read more about Lindex partnership with HERhealth here.
