AUSTIN, Texas., 2015-9-11 — /EPR Retail News/ — Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ: WFM) today has been named among the 100 Most Innovative Companies in 2015 by Forbes magazine. It is both the only grocery retailer and the only company headquartered in Austin, Texas to make Forbes’ 2015 World’s 100 Most Innovative companies list.

Forbes ranks companies by their “innovation premium,” calculated first by projecting a company’s income (cash flows, in this case) from its existing businesses and look at the net present value (NPV) of those cash flows. Forbes then compares this base value of the existing business with the current Enterprise Value (EV): Companies with an EV above the base value have an innovation premium built into their stock price.
