Celerant Technology, a leader in the retail software industry, recently partnered with Motion Computing, a global provider of tablet PCs, to provide a Mobile POS that may be used from anywhere in the store. Celerant’s Command Retail point of sale module is now available on the Motion SlateMate with magnetic stripe reader and barcode scanner.
“Every retailer can benefit from Celerant’s Mobile POS, whether they are a smaller retailer administering sidewalk sales, or a larger retailer utilizing it for line busting or for more personalized in-aisle sales,” says Ian Goldman, President and CEO of Celerant Technology Corp. “We wanted to provide our clients with a mobile solution that allows them to manage their business without having to remain in front of the registers. After evaluating different solutions, we partnered with Motion, whose tablet is an all-in-one sales tool that integrates seamlessly with our point of sale software. Right now our Mobile POS is available exclusively on the Motion SlateMate, but development is also in progress for a broader selection of mobile devices.”
Celerant’s Mobile POS allows retailers to complete sales transactions away from a register. The Motion SlateMate is a tablet PC with a built-in barcode scanner and magnetic stripe reader which, when running Command Retail, can ring up sales, process credit cards, and wirelessly print or email receipts. Retailers will also be able to create quotes by scanning items directly from the sales floor, perform line busting to minimize sales lines and create gift registries which integrate with a Celerant E-Commerce site.
“Our partnership with Celerant Technology is based on a common philosophy to provide retailers with premium products in a single solution,” said Grant Frederiksen, Senior Director, Strategic Corporate Alliances. “The SlateMate is a unique solution that complements Command Retail, resulting in a powerful Mobile POS that expedites the sales process and improves the customer’s retail experience.”
Celerant began development of its mobile suite in 2010, when it optimized its E-Commerce offering for mobile devices. Earlier this year, Celerant Command Mobile Applications was released for back-office functions that run on most mobile devices. Celerant’s Mobile POS is the latest instance of the company’s growth and advancement toward new forms of technology, a growth that maintains Celerant’s position as a leader in the retail software industry.
