Stanley+Techstars Additive Manufacturing Accelerator now accepting applications

The Visa-branded version of the Wallet Card is the same size and shape as a normal Visa credit or debit card, yet it incorporates multiple features and technologies not previously found in a single payment card. Features of the Wallet Card range from the capacity to access multiple cards – whether EMV-, contactless- or magnetic stripe-based – to a programmable on-card display that enables account information, such as alerts or coupons, to be sent to the cardholder via an embedded antenna.

ePRICE’s Black Friday sales a major hit with Italians

Milan, 2017-Dec-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — Mind-boggling numbers for ePRICE’s Black Friday! The four days of discounts initiative organised by the e-commerce site from 24 to 27 November was a major hit with Italians, increasingly enthusiastic about online shopping.

Indeed, shopaholics did not pass up the opportunity to put large and small appliances into their carts, along with IT items, cell phones, video games and so on, taking advantage of discounts of up to 70%. The item with the absolute highest demand – given the upcoming cold season – was the electric bed warmer, followed by the PlayStation 4 game Gran Turismo Sport. Third and fourth place were respectively occupied by the Smart Tech LED HD Ready 32” TV and the Hotpoint washer-dryer, while the most costly item placed in the carts of Italians was the Samsung QLED Ultra HD 65” TV, worth over Euro 4,000.

“Black Friday 2017 for ePRICE – the seventh since we were the first to introduce it in Italy – lasted four days, until Cyber Monday, and was once again a huge success, with record traffic and visits, more than doubled compared to 2016. This year, we prepared Black Friday in advance – says Raul Stella, ePRICE and Marketplace VP – with an online, TV and radio campaign linked to the Black Hour initiatives. Our clients quickly took advantage of the many Black Friday deals, anticipating part of their Christmas shopping and leading to record orders compared to last year. In particular, the marketplace was up 147% YoY in terms of order value, backed by strong growth in terms of number of sellers on our site. This result confirms our strategy, which involves consolidation of our leadership in the ”core” categories (major domestic appliances, air conditioners and TVs), where the online market is showing double-digit growth, accompanied by strong development of the Marketplace for the mass market electronics categories”.

During the four days of the promotion, there were over 3 million user visits on the ePRICE site (+117%
compared to 2016), while on actual Black Friday alone, there were some 1.6 million (+150% compared to 2016), with peaks between 7 and 11 in the morning, and then in the evening at around 19:00. Of those seeking deals on ePRICE, 70% connected from mobile devices, with 36% using the official app of the e-commerce site. Lastly, the value of orders in the four day was up 39% YoY, or +147% for the marketplace. When looking at the Black Week alone, the numbers are even more impressive, thanks to the success of the Black Hour, which brought an increase of 264% YoY in visits and of 44% YoY in terms of order value. The cities that recorded the highest number of purchases were Milan, Rome, Turin, Naples and Brescia, and the most active buyers were men between 25 and 54 years of age.

This year’s campaign features technology from three key brands including a proud Dad attempting to be ‘down with the kids’ while parading his new Bose® product range; a family putting the latest Apple products (and their Father) through their paces and a hilarious Mum-Dad double act declaring a ‘tech free’ Christmas to a bewildered audience, before proudly showing off the latest LG OLED 4K ready TV, in all its glory.

While the ads centre around humour and several light-hearted moments, they also demonstrate that the retailer has an effective blend of the right services, right products and right prices, to help customers ‘get it right’ this Christmas.

The campaign will feature 40” hero TV executions alongside a suite of 10 sponsorship idents breaking over November and December, starting on air from Wednesday 1st November, and is supported by promotional activity throughout November and December.

The ads will appear during some high-profile television slots on ITV (Coronation Street, Doc Martin, Jonathan Ross, The X Factor and Sheridan) and Channel 4 (Ugly House to Lovely House, Celebrity First Dates and The Last Leg) across November, as well as commercial broadcasters including ITV, C4, C5 and Sky Multichannel.

The campaign is one element of a fully-integrated nationwide campaign, set to incorporate all areas of the business right down through to Currys PC World stores.

Just say, “yes” to buy it. Changed your mind? No problem, any physical product purchased with your voice is eligible for free returns. Customers must be Prime members with default payment and shipping information.

Amazon App: The Amazon App is designed to make your holiday shopping fast and easy. In fact, last holiday season, more than 70% of Amazon customers worldwide shopped using a mobile device. Customers can find where their holiday packages are in seconds, use camera search to quickly and easily find the items they want by pointing at an item or barcode, and never miss a deal by setting Watch-a-Deal alerts. Customers can also search and reorder with Alexa. Once Amazon boxes begin to arrive, customers can use the Amazon App’s Package X-Ray feature to scan the barcode and see what’s inside, allowing them to wrap gifts without ever opening the box or spoiling the surprise.

AR view: Amazon’s latest augmented reality offering within the Amazon App launched today for customers with iOS 11 installed on their iPhone 6S or later. Using Apple’s ARKit, AR view helps customers make better shopping decisions by allowing them to visualize the aesthetic and fit of products in their own living space. Customers simply open the Amazon App, click on the camera icon and choose AR view. They can then select from thousands of items – from living room, bedroom, kitchen and home office products to electronics, toys and games, home décor and more. Whether customers are buying a sofa or a kitchen appliance, they can overlay it onto their existing living space, move it and rotate it to get a full 360-degree peek in a live camera view to make sure it fits their style and aesthetic.

Amazon.com in Spanish: Since adding the option for customers to set their language preference earlier this year, millions of customers have chosen Spanish as their preferred language to shop on Amazon.com and in the Amazon App. Customers can shop, browse and search for millions of products, view their shopping cart, and place orders in Spanish. Customers can update their language settings in their Amazon App, as well as visit Amazon.com and click the ‘globe’ button – located in the navigation bar at the top of their Amazon home screen – to set and begin shopping in their preferred language. Preferred language settings will be saved for future site visits under ‘Your account’ settings.

Treasure Truck: Now available in 25 select cities, Treasure Truck is a new way for customers to shop this holiday season. Customers can opt-in to receive notifications from the Amazon App for special must-have offers from Treasure Truck, order the item, and pick-up at the truck all season long. NEW YORK, 2017-Nov-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — Macy’s (NYSE:M) and Samsung today (Oct. 31, 2017) announced the launch of a unique Samsung experience at the retailer’s flagship location in New York City. Beginning Nov. 1, customers shopping at Macy’s Herald Square will be able to explore and purchase a range of Samsung products, including an assortment of the most innovative technologies in virtual reality, tablet, smartphone, wearable, the Family Hub refrigerator, QLED television, home audio and smart home categories.
