NCR Corporation sponsored one of North America’s largest hackathons, HackGT

Atlanta, 2017-Oct-20 — /EPR Retail News/ — NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni-channel solutions, sponsored one of North America’s largest hackathons, HackGT, from October 13-15 hosted at Georgia Tech. More than 1,000 student developers from around the country—selected from a record-setting group of more than 3,000 applicants—tested their creativity by developing cross-industry solutions and applications to create better consumer experiences.

Twenty hackathon teams became the first third-party users of NCR’s open API on the Omni-Channel Decision Support Platform (ODSP), which will be made available to selected NCR partners and third-party developers via a ‘Developer Portal’ next year.

Held in Atlanta—the “Silicon Valley of the East”—HackGT challenges young developers to create new industry solutions such as ordering and delivering, smart promotions and offers, and advanced analytical models based on hypothetical transactional data.

This was the first-year NCR sponsored this event, in which 20 teams of up to four students explored potential solutions using the ODSP and hypothetical data sets created by NCR for the students to use as catalog and transactional data.

The winning team developed a mobile commerce application that uses NCR’s Ordering API, Catalog API and analytics to make mobile ordering easier for consumers. Members of the winning team that developed the app will each receive an iPhone X and be offered a summer internship with NCR’s software division.

“We’re always fascinated by what the next generation of software engineers and developers can create, and their solutions this weekend dramatically exceeded all our expectations,” said Eli Rosner, CTO and Head of Software Product Management, NCR. “We were glad to be part of such a landmark event for the software industry, which aligns with NCR’s focus on innovation and building the careers of emerging software engineers.”

The ODSP is a cloud-based technology platform that augments and accelerates NCR solutions. It uses open, cloud-based APIs that allow NCR and other applications to seamlessly integrate and enable innovative consumer engagement solutions that span channels, applications, and industries. It will also provide rich data and analytics capabilities to provide a holistic view of consumer interactions and help drive smarter, faster business decisions.

NCR Corporation earns certification for outdoor EMV solutions with Wayne Fueling Systems

EMV certification enables petroleum convenience retailers to improve outdoor customer experience with more secure EMV payments and prepare for 2020 EMV mandate

Duluth, Ga. , 2017-Oct-20 — /EPR Retail News/ — NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni-channel solutions, today (October 18, 2017) announced it has received certification for outdoor EMV solutions with Wayne Fueling Systems (“Wayne”), part of Dover Fueling Solutions and a global provider of fuel dispensing, payment, automation and control technologies for retail and commercial fuel stations. The certification covers NCR Epsilon, which enables credit and debit EMV transactions for the NCR RPOS and StorePoint POS solutions.

The Wayne iX Pay™ payment platform has consistently been the first to meet the industry’s rigorous regulatory demands to help deliver an increased level of payment security. By having an NCR outdoor EMV certified solution, retailers who encounter high risk fraud and have locations subject to high fraud rules can implement EMV payments outdoors and help reduce their exposure to chargeback expenses.

“EMV certification of our payment solution enables us to enhance the outdoor customer experience by providing shoppers with more secure payment transactions and helping to protect them from fraud,” said Tom Chittenden, vice president and general manager of retail solutions at NCR Corporation. “Our solution uses an open platform that allows us to make software changes as new technology and additional forms of payment become available. Migrating to EMV in automatic fuel dispensers early is a smart business move for Convenience and Fuel retailers that affords them greater control over budgeting, planning, and deploying equipment upgrades on a timeline that supports their objectives.”

NCR’s strategy as a hardware-enabled, software-driven business is to provide unified commerce offerings that converge point of service, loyalty, mobility, eCommerce and payments so retailers can engage with consumers more securely in a variety of ways. With the NCR OPTIC solution, fuel retailers can transform their business with a more engaging and consistent customer experience in the forecourt, accepting EMV payment at the pump while also bringing customers into the store for additional spend. The screens at the pumps can be used to promote rewards and enable loyalty program activation which can result in a quantifiable increase in revenue.

“As technology advances and financial data theft increases, protecting our customers from debit and credit card fraud has become a major priority for our business,” said Simon Siew, director of payment solutions at Wayne.

The payment processing host certification testing was completed by NCR Epsilon in September 2017, verifying that EMV cards are processed in accordance with the EMV Brand specifications of Mastercard, AMEX, VISA and Discover.

Swiss banks to pilot universal, vendor-neutral software developed by NCR Corporation as part of ATMfutura project

Duluth, MN / Zurich, Switzerland , 2017-Jul-14 — /EPR Retail News/ — As part of SIX Group’s recently announced ATMfutura project, this summer Swiss banks will begin piloting universal, vendor-neutral software developed by NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) to improve usability, reduce costs and enable faster updates.

ATMfutura is a unique and innovative project in Europe designed to provide Swiss banks with the same user interface and user guidance on all their ATMs, substantially simplifying their operation. Selected branches in Switzerland will begin piloting the standardized software in the summer of 2017 though the end of the year. Beginning in 2018, the new software platform, based on NCR APTRA Top Client Server (TCS), will be made available for all Swiss ATMs.

“The harmonization of the ATM software is only the first step in the ATMfutura project,” said Juerg Weber, Division CEO Six Payment Services. “In the future we will be able to offer banks in Switzerland a comprehensive offering that enables them to reduce costs and increase usability for customers through standardization, volume purchasing options and optimized processes. A project of this scale required a reliable partner with long term experience, flexibility and know how, like the one we found in NCR.”

The ATMfutura project aims to replace the more than 20 different solutions from various vendors currently used in Swiss banks’ ATMs with one common standard to enable easier, faster and cost efficient software updates and changes and generate economies of scale. Furthermore, bank customers will see improved usability and the introduction of new services, such as mobile cash withdrawals with a QR code on their smartphone, the selection of favorite denominations or a voice-guided experience for visually impaired customers. These kind of services are currently only offered by select banks.

“NCR is the largest provider of multivendor ATM software globally,” explained Paul Thuer, Country Manager NCR Switzerland. “We are proud of the trust that SIX placed in us with this project – the configuration and modernization of existing components for a new, standardized ATM software platform is a complex task that requires a trusting cooperation of both parties. We are confident that this project will have a lighthouse effect on other countries.”

Japanese Restaurant and Jazz venue, Yoshi’s selects NCR Corporation to transform their restaurant operations

Proven NCR mobile POS technology drives consumer convenience and business efficiency

DULUTH, Ga., 2017-Jun-07 — /EPR Retail News/ — When the Japanese Restaurant and Jazz venue, Yoshi’s, was looking for a way to increase their speed of service and customer satisfaction in their massive 17,000-square- foot location in the most efficient way, the management team turned to NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni-channel solutions, for help with their restaurant operations transformation.

Located in the heart of the Bay Area, Yoshi’s is very comfortable, incorporating new state-of-the-art technology. Leveraging NCR’s reliable point-of-sale (POS) platform, they were able to install a mobile POS solution that enabled servers to take orders and payment directly at the table with direct transmission of the order information to the kitchen and bar printers. Once Yoshi’s deployed NCR Aloha Mobile –- an extension of Aloha POS on mobile devices that can run on either consumer-grade or built-for purpose technology — everything changed.  Yoshi’s made the operational changes needed to optimize the kitchen work load, dramatically speed customer service, reshape their dining room and empower their servers to provide top-of-the-line service using NCR Aloha Mobile running on 26 NCR Orderman7 mobile devices.

“The handheld technology more than doubles the amount of tables that our servers can handle, making their jobs easier and more efficient than ever before,” said Hal Campos, the general manager for Yoshi’s. “The speed and reliability of NCR’s technology creates a unique and smooth customer experience, allowing servers to be more attentive to each table.”

To compete in today’s restaurant industry, companies are constantly looking for ways to eliminate server transit time while providing a unique experience for customers. By fine tuning ordering systems, restaurants can increase customer engagement while increasing the efficiency of their staff.

“As the leader in hospitality technology, we want to make everyday easier for restaurant operators with the best possible software solutions for their business to help increase revenues and bottom line results,” said Don Zimmerman, general manager at NCR Hospitality. “NCR’s handheld devices are builtfor purpose, and improve operational performance. We have the capability to help our customers quickly incorporate this one-of-a-kind technology into their businesses, enhancing the customer experience while meeting business development goals.”

Yoshi’s began in 1972 as a small sushi bar and over the last 40 years has built itself into one of the world’s most respected jazz venues. Today, Yoshi’s is an award-winning 310-seat live performance venue with a state-of-the-art sound system and design, in the heart of Oakland’s Jack London Square and is known for its spectacular service and great entertainment.

NCR Corporation introduces its NCR SelfServ™ 80 Series to banks and financial institutions in Turkey

Duluth, Ga. / Istanbul, Turkey, 2017-Jun-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni-channel solutions, today (May 31, 2017) introduced its NCR SelfServ™ 80 Series to banks and financial institutions in Turkey. According to Retail Banking Research, NCR is the leading ATM manufacturer in Turkey with a 56 percent market share. With Turkey being one of the early adopters of multi-functional ATMs and video banking, NCR will build on this position with the new ATM family by helping financial institutions redefine the banking experience and changing the way consumers interact with the ATM forever.

Invented 50 years ago, the ATM remains one of the most sustained innovations in the financial industry. As more and more bank customers have embraced smartphones as well as digital and online banking, ATMs today have to adapt to this new consumer reality. The new ATMs are mobile ready and feature a large, 19-inch multi-touch display, where consumers can swipe, pinch and zoom their way quickly through transactions.

“Recent research revealed that 74 percent of the population in Turkey said that they would never go completely cashless,” said Diego Navarrete, Vice President Europe for Financial Services at NCR. “So the ATM is the ideal touchpoint to integrate physical and digital banking channels to create the connected experience that customers are looking for today. With Turkey expected to increase the installed base of ATMs by 25 percent by 2021, our new ATM family is suited perfectly to fill this demand.”

The modern design comes with fully customizable, color-coded media entry and exit indicators. Additionally, a unique 10-cassette cash dispense capability lowers cash replenishment costs. Euro Automatic Cash upgrades its ATM network with more than 1,300 NCR ATMs

Madrid, 2017-May-23 — /EPR Retail News/ — Euro Automatic Cash, a joint venture in which Banco Popular Español has a 50 percent share, is transforming its ATM network to reflect its new corporate branding and image with state-of-the-art ATMs from NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni-channel solutions and market leader in Spain according to Retail Banking Research.

In 2014, Euro Automatic Cash was established to act as provider of ATM services for Banco Popular and other banks in Spain, and currently maintains a network of approximately 2,000 ATMs across the country. Today, about 65 percent of its installed base has been modernized with new, state-of-the-art NCR systems that feature latest Windows 7 operating system and contactless functionality. With the new ATM systems, Euro Automatic Cash will be able offer new features and services to its financial institution customers in the future, such as cash recycling, targeted advertising and personalized services through its self-service terminals.

Carlos García Reig, General Director of Financial Services at NCR Spain added, “Euro Automatic Cash is a remarkable example of the value that deploying our SelfServ ATMs and security software bring in operational efficiencies, great consumer experiences and exceptional service delivery. This enables financial institutions to reflect their brand and support their brand promises.”

NCR Corporation enters into agreement to resolve Wisconsin Fox River environmental cleanup and related Superfund litigation

United States Government and State of Wisconsin Support Decree Relating to Cleanup Efforts that NCR Began in 2009

DULUTH, Ga., 2017-Jan-18 — /EPR Retail News/ — NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) today (January 17, 2017) announced it is resolving the Wisconsin Fox River environmental cleanup and related Superfund litigation by entry into a definitive consent decree with the United States Government and the State of Wisconsin, under which the company expects to finally conclude the longstanding matter. The decree is subject to court approval.

The resolution includes NCR’s commitments to complete the in-river cleanup work designed to remove polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from the river, and to drop a potential legal appeal. It also incorporates elimination of Superfund claims brought against the Company by other parties, discontinuation of the Company’s own such claims and assignments of responsibility for closing out certain final costs.

With the contributions of its former corporate parents and affiliates from the past several decades, NCR has successfully performed the overwhelming majority of the cleanup work to date. NCR is the only company to have consistently been involved in that work from its start in 2009 to the present. Several other parties that had failed to participate in the work have recently entered into their own settlements, which included financial contributions applied toward remediation expenses. The remainder of the cleanup work is expected to be completed over 2017 and 2018. The remediation project, covering 29 miles of the Fox River, is the single largest sediment cleanup project to date in the United States.

“NCR is pleased with the successful resolution of this matter pending the court’s approval, following nine years of complex and protracted litigation involving multiple trials and appeals,” said Edward Gallagher, General Counsel of NCR Corporation. “NCR is pleased to put this matter behind us, and we are also glad to provide the federal and state governments and the people of Wisconsin confidence that the clean-up, which NCR commenced in 2009, will be completed without interruption or delay.”

NCR will agree not to appeal a key decision on which it had previously prevailed, relating to calculation of harm and responsibility at Superfund locations. This eliminates a key litigation risk for the Government.

Upon approval by the court, the decree is expected to bring to an end a set of complex litigations that commenced in 2008. In particular the settlement will provide contribution protection to NCR that will foreclose Superfund litigation claims brought against it by other companies that had contributed to the pollution of the river. NCR is, at the governments’ request, conditionally relinquishing its own affirmative claims for recovery against the same parties. This presumptive end to the litigation removes a substantial part of NCR’s Fox River risks and renders its remaining responsibility readily measurable, and it helps enable NCR’s commitment to complete the cleanup alone.

The settlement also includes arrangements under which other companies that had contributed to the river’s pollution will bear primary responsibility for certain government costs, and for long-term monitoring and maintenance of the remediation work.

The settlement will be funded internally by a non-material increment of approximately $14 million to NCR’s reserve for Fox River discontinued operations, and the continued contributions of its former parent and sister corporations. NCR will not make any settlement payments under the consent decree, but will fund the remediation through contractors and vendors on a pay-as-it-goes basis over 2017-18, as the Company has done for the past 8 years. The impact on free cash flow is anticipated to be modest and at or near prior projections for Fox River expenditures; the settlement is expected to have no material impact on NCR’s free cash flow as a whole for either year. This consent decree settlement would not affect the rights NCR has to pursue what is referred to in the company’s SEC filings as the NCR Adjustment, which is related to funds owed to the Company for prior Fox River remediation payments it made, and which has the potential to create future positive cash flow.

IHL Group and NCR Corporation survey: Retailers who invest in technologies are more likely to enjoy high sales growth

Report found three key strategic areas of attention: seamless shopping experience, personalization and store transformation

DULUTH, Ga, 2017-Jan-17 — /EPR Retail News/ — Retailers who spend more on technology are more likely to enjoy high sales growth, according to a recent survey that IHL Group and NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni-channel solutions, today (January 14, 2017) revealed.

The Unified Commerce Landscape Report from NCR, in partnership with research and analyst firm IHL Group, found that retailers who invest in technologies designed to create seamless shopping experiences, personalization and store transformation enjoy sales boosts of up to 100 percent and more.

The report split retailers into two categories according to their sales growth, and correlated these groups with adoption of 30 different unified commerce functionalities. The research found that retailers using these technologies enjoyed a huge sales boost over rival retailers that did not use the commerce functionalities. These include:

  • Store transformation: retailers that provide mobile sales tools for staff saw 77 percent higher sales growth, those that deployed mobile POS saw 92 percent higher sales, while stores that offer in-store Wi-Fi saw a mammoth 663 percent increase in sales compared to those that do not
  • Personalization: 110 percent higher sales growth for retailers that actively market their cross-channel services; 107 percent higher average increase for those using customer preference across channels, and 84 percent more sales growth for retailers who employ loyalty programs in real time
  • Seamless experience: 102 percent higher sales growth for those using cross-channel demand planning, and 18 percent more for retailers that use order management systems – the foundation of Unified Commerce

90 large retail chains in the USA and UK were surveyed across two main categories: general merchandisers, such as department stores, specialty hard and soft goods, and food, drug, convenience, and mass merchants. The most successful general merchandisers also focused on an additional area, providing actionable analytics for store associates. More than half (56 percent) in this category are using analytics to empower in-store staff to make the best decision at the point of customer interaction.

“The last few years has seen brick & mortar retailers fighting back against the online giants, as retailers realize that bricks-and-mortar shops can provide a unique experience that you can’t get on the web,” Mark Benjamin, president and COO, NCR Corporation. “Our research shows the enormous value that can be gained from striking the right balance of investment in technologies that create a seamless shopping experience – whether online or in store – and thus, increased customer loyalty.”

Retail leaders spend on average 69 percent more on IT than other respondents in the survey, but the secret in not just in the total spent: “Successful retailers understand that they need to focus on every area simultaneously, and align these systems in a balanced and strategic way, if they are to unlock all the transformational benefits that technology can bring,” said Benjamin.

“Retailers can no longer view IT as only a cost center but a strategic resource to grow the business.  The IT spending commitment from retail leaders is having a dramatic impact on their ability to balance the top strategic priorities: creating a seamless shopping experience, creating a ‘WOW’ in-store experience, and improving customer loyalty,” said Greg Buzek, President of IHL Group. “Without the relevant budget available, others simply cannot keep up and are at most at risk.”

NCR Corporation now runs and manages ING-DiBa Germany’s entire ATM network

AUGSBURG, GERMANY, 2016-Sep-21 — /EPR Retail News/ — NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni-channel solutions, announced today that it is now running and managing ING-DiBa Germany’s entire ATM network. NCR software solutions, data center provisioning and services are helping the leading German direct bank to dramatically simplify the management of its ATM network and increase the availability of its ATMs, thereby enhancing the efficiency of business operations, reducing costs and improving customer service.

ING-DiBa is the largest German direct bank with more than 8 million customers and 3,500 employees, and been voted “most popular bank” for several years in a row by the readers of the German business publication €uro. ING-DiBa supplies customers of their 1.5 million current accounts with cash services by operating 1,200 ATMs at petrol stations, in shopping centers, as well as large retail stores and hotels.

In the course of the transition, NCR software solutions have been deployed across the ATM network, and an NCR data center is at the heart of the new setup: NCR Top Client Server (TCS) was installed on ING’s ATMs, including both NCR and other units to connect them to the data center. The server application NCR Operate within the NCR data center handles and settles the ATM transactions, records and reports on the running of the ATM network while NCR Connections will provide web service capabilities to ING and NCR APTRA Vision monitors the network. ING-DiBa also uses NCR OptiCash to automate its ATM cash management.

The delivery of new transactions and services to the ATM network is now based on a service oriented architecture, enabled by NCR software solutions, data center provisioning and services, that allow ING-DiBa to introduce new services quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, NCR delivers a full spectrum of services ranging from field service and maintenance, to monitoring and incident management of the ATM network.

As ING-DiBa has grown over the last 50 years since launch, the complexity of the ATM network increased. Currently ING operates 19 different ATM solutions from various vendors and differing product generations. An upcoming change in data center providers was the ideal opportunity to re-evaluate the strategy. ING seized the opportunity to simplify the operation of its ATM network, consolidate service contracts, and move to the new modern service oriented architecture approach proposed by NCR.

“As we started the tender, we didn’t have a preferred solution in mind. Indeed, the complete outsourcing of our network was the preferred option, but not a definite goal,” said Joerg Johannsen, Manager of Cash Supply at ING-DiBa. “NCR was able to meet virtually all of our requirements and submitted such a well thought out offer with ideas and recommendations that the other options were soon discarded. The fact that NCR’s was able to automate the software transition ultimately influenced our decision.”

For the remote transition of the ATMs NCR had to modify the software so that also legacy systems with low memory, computing power and slow network connection could be upgraded and transitioned to the new platform. At the same time, NCR increased security measures on all systems. Cash management processes that took one employee at ING-DiBa about one hour every day are now handled with NCR OptiCash. This NCR solution automatically analyses and forecasts the individual requirements for each cashpoint in the network.

“Entrusting us with the management of its ATM network is a strong vote of confidence from ING-DiBa,” said Harald Heinz, Area Sales Leader for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at NCR. “This project allowed us to bring the strength and wealth of our expertise and experience to the table and submit a tailored concept for ING-DiBa. Our project team of software, hardware and service experts put the plan into action in the agreed time frame.”

NCR Corporation to add second office tower at its new world headquarters campus in Midtown Atlanta

ATLANTA, 2016-Sep-15 — /EPR Retail News/ — NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni-channel solutions, today (September 13, 2016) announced plans to expand the new world headquarters campus under construction in Midtown Atlanta. The expansion will add a second tower to provide the space needed to prepare for future growth and create innovations that will help power the digitally-connected economy.

NCR, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, and Invest Atlanta have agreed on additional incentives that will see NCR bring over 1,800 skilled professionals to Georgia over the next five years and invest $145 million in the second tower. NCR and Cousins Properties entered into a long-term, build-to-suit lease for the second tower, which will be owned and developed by Cousins, as is the first tower on the NCR campus.

“What we are building is more than just a world headquarters campus—this is a commitment to the City of Atlanta, the State of Georgia, our employees, and customers that as the omni-channel leader we are focused on a bold, bright vision for the future,” said NCR President, CEO and Chairman Bill Nuti. “We are building a work environment that mirrors the innovative, connected experiences we create for our customers every day. Our campus will provide a world-class work environment for all of our metro Atlanta employees and become a technology landmark in one of the city’s fastest growing neighborhoods.”

“Georgia is a hotbed for leading technology companies such as NCR because of our extensive technology sector and pro-business climate,” said Georgia Governor Nathan Deal. “NCR is already making a significant impact in the state’s technology industry and the company will reap the benefits of having its headquarters in this thriving technology cluster. NCR’s growth and expansion further proves that Georgia is on the minds of high-tech job creators.”

Phase I of the project, which features a 20-story tower, is under construction and is scheduled for completion in Q1 2018. Phase II, which is in the design phase, will feature a connected, 14-story office tower and is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in Q1 2019.

“I am pleased that NCR has chosen to further expand its global headquarters campus in the City of Atlanta through another capital investment in Midtown and by bringing over 1,800 skilled professionals to our city,” said Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. “Atlanta continues to grow as a global technology center that offers companies access to top talent, renowned research institutions and advanced technology infrastructure. In our world-class business community, entrepreneurs and executives can find everything they need to build their dreams.”

NCR’s new state-of-the-art global headquarters campus will be built to enable optimal collaboration and teamwork; feature the technology and tools to support the changing nature of how, when and where work is done; and excite and inspire employees and customers. The campus will feature such amenities as dining options and outdoor seating, coffee bar, gym, informal spaces that spark creativity and a large lecture space.

“We are excited to expand on our relationship with NCR by developing an additional tower for their new cutting-edge corporate headquarters in Midtown,” said President and Chief Executive Officer of Cousins Properties, Larry Gellerstedt. “We are well underway with the first office tower, with delivery slated for early 2018, and we plan to begin construction on the second building by the end of the year.”

Rutter’s Farm Stores to integrate outdoor EMV NCR OPTIC solution to enhance customer engagement

DULUTH, Ga., 2016-Sep-14 — /EPR Retail News/ — Today (Sept. 12, 2016 ), most convenience store patrons simply fuel their cars and go. And while retailers generate a large percentage of revenue from fuel sales, they remain diligent in their efforts to better engage fuel-and-go consumers. Rutter’s Farm Stores (Rutter’s) is relying on NCR OPTIC – a new outdoor payment terminal – to reach this ever growing customer base.

Rutter’s, which offers petroleum and food service at its 65 sites, has been an NCR partner for more than 10 years. The Pennsylvania-based retailer had early interest in the OPTIC solution when NCR unveiled the technology at the 2015 NACS Show.

“We were initially excited by two aspects: the open source platform and the media management components,” said Scott Hartman, Rutter’s CEO. “The open source platform allows us to easily integrate our Rutter’s VIP Club rewards program, while the new media capabilities extend our storefront marketing to the forecourt. It’s a major omni-channel win.”

NCR OPTIC is a modular, self-service solution that accepts a range of payment options in its standard configuration:

  • EMV and magnetic stripe
  • Contactless (including mobile phones) and mobile wallet
  • 2D barcode scanner

OPTIC comes in two sizes, a 5” terminal for use with older dispensers, and a 12” widescreen – one of the largest and most powerful retrofit options on the market today. OPTIC was engineered to retrofit most brands of fuel dispensers, allowing retailers to easily upgrade their at-the-pump engagements.

“While OPTIC provides Rutter’s the immediate benefit of outdoor EMV compliance, the long-term benefit comes as the company improves its omni-channel experience at the fuel pump,” said Michael Bayer, president, NCR Retail. “By extending our partnership, we can better support Rutter’s initiatives to enhance customer engagement – whether the consumers are in the store or at the forecourt.”

Rutter’s and NCR will launch the first OPTIC solution in early Q4 of 2016.
