In Lost in Oz, 12-year-old Dorothy Gale discovers her mother’s magical travel journal hidden beneath the floorboards of their Kansas home. The book triggers a tornado, which rips her house from its foundation and transports Dorothy and her dog, Toto, to Emerald City, a bustling, modern, metropolis. In order to get home, Dorothy learns she must acquire every element on Oz’s “periodic table of magic” – while the city faces the worst magic drought in eons! Along the way, Dorothy and Toto meet unlikely allies in West, Ojo, Reigh the Lion, Scarecrow, and Glinda the Good, who are each eager to help, but struggling with their own problems. Together, they navigate the magical landscape of Oz while undergoing their own unique journeys of self-discovery.

A follow-up to the 2015 Emmy award-winning series Dino Dan: Trek’s Adventures, Dino Dana is a preschool program that takes viewers on a whole new level of dinosaur encounters. Combining live-action with CGI animation, the series features 11 new prehistoric creatures and, for the first time, two sisters. After a chance encounter with Trek and his Dino Field Guide, Dana (Michela Luci), a “paleontologist in training,” begins to see dinosaurs all around her, leading to plenty of action and adventure. Based on the award-winning book series by illustrator/creator and consulting producer James Dean, Pete the Cat is an animated kids series that has been ordered straight-to-series for 14 episodes. The show follows Pete the Cat, the coolest cat ever and his groovy guide to life—from rockin’ out with his guitar to riding a skateboard. The series is a co-production with Alcon Television Group and will be developed by Jeff “Swampy” Marsh (Phineas and Ferb) and Appian Way production company. Harper Collins has published more than 34 Pete the Cat books, which have been translated into 13 languages and received 18 literacy awards, including the Theodore Geisel Seuss Award. Slated to voice as Pete’s parents are musical luminaries Elvis Costello and Diana Krall. In season two, the girls’ Last-Ditch Layer Cake breaks every spell in town which miraculously brings Grandma Quinn (Dee Wallace, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial) back to her normal self, however it also brings back an old enemy…Chuck Hankins. Chuck disappeared when he was a teenager, but when he returns 50 years later, he hasn’t aged a day. When Chuck begins to meddle with the girls’ lives, they must put aside their summer of fun in order to save the magic from falling into the wrong hands. As the girls begin to investigate, they learn that Chuck isn’t just an ordinary troublemaker. In fact, he’s capable of much more than they could ever imagine. The Bug Diaries is an animated comedy series for preschoolers based on the witty children’s books by best-selling author Doreen Cronin and best-selling Illustrator Harry Bliss. The show follows a comic trio of slimy, crawly, and buzzy bug friends whose tiny world offers up huge adventures. Pairing kid-personalities with incredible bug abilities, the series will give us a mile-high look at the world through Fly’s compound eyes, let us squirm in Worm’s “footsteps”, and literally hang around with Spider as they record their adventures, each in their own way, in their bug diaries.

Sid & Marty Krofft present Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, a live action show for children ages 6 to 11, based on their classic Saturday morning series from the 1970s. The show is centered on two brothers, Johnny and Scotty, who along with their cousin Robyn befriend Sigmund, a friendly young sea-monster who escapes from his old life and his comically dysfunctional brothers Slurp and Blurp. Now, using a Clubhouse as their hiding place, the gang must keep Sigmund safe from an ambitious sea-monster hunter Captain Barnabas. The show is executive produced by Sid & Marty Krofft (H.R. Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost) with the pilot directed by Jonathan Judge (The Thundermans, School of Rock) and starring David Arquette (Scream, Jake and the Neverland Pirates) as Captain Barnabas. Garrett Frawley and Brian Turner (Santa Baby) wrote the new teleplay based on the classic series.

Amazon announces brand-new Original Kids Series, Bookaboo on Prime Video in the US and UK

Already a full-fledged international hit, the series for preschool-aged children celebrates the fun and benefits of adults and children reading together. Bookaboo inventively combines puppetry, live action and CGI animation, and every episode features a different celebrity guest, who goes “backstage” to share their favorite picture book with Bookaboo, the adorable world-famous drummer puppy and star of the show who needs to be read a book a day or he just can’t play. Amazon signs production deal with Mattel to produce four American Girl live-action specials to premiere on Prime Video

Four live-action specials from one of the world’s top brands for girls will join Amazon’s award-winning original kids programming slate

(NASDAQ:MAT), to produce four live-action specials and options to produce multiple seasons of episodic content, based on the brand’s beloved characters. Two of the specials will feature characters from the BeForever franchise and one of the specials will feature characters from Girl of the Year franchise. Amazon orders three new Amazon Original Kids Series for Prime members in US, UK, Germany and Austria to debut next year

SEATTLE, 2015-11-6 — /EPR Retail News/ — (NASDAQ: AMZN)—Amazon today announced it has ordered three new Amazon Original Kids Series—Dino Dana, The Kicks and Lost in Oz—as well as half-hour special Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas to debut on Prime Video. The new series come from creative talent including Aardman Animations, Bureau of Magic’s Mark Warshaw, Abram Makowka, Darin Mark and Jared Mark (East Los High, Smallville), novelist James Frey (I Am Number Four), and J.J. Johnson (Dino Dan, Annedroids). All three series will be available for Prime members in the US, UK, Germany and Austria and will debut next year. Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas will make its world debut for Prime members in the US on November 13.

The series will feature 16 new prehistoric creatures, an adopted baby dino and, for the first time, two sisters. After a chance encounter with Trek and his Dino Field Guide, Dana, a “paleontologist in training,” and her teenage sister Emily, begin to see dinosaurs all around them, leading to plenty of action and adventure. Created and directed by J.J. Johnson (Dino Dan, Annedroids), the series will be executive produced by Sinking Ship partners Johnson, Blair Powers and Matt Bishop, co-executive produced by Christin Simms (Dino Dan) and written by Johnson and Simms.

In The Kicks, a live-action series for children ages six to 11, Devin Burke (played by newcomer Sixx Orange) was the star player on her soccer team back home until her family moved to California midway through the school year. Now, Devin has to rise to the challenge after discovering that her new school team has been on a losing streak over the last few months and is badly in need of a leader to rally the team together. Based on a book series by US Olympic Gold Medalist and current US Women’s National Team soccer player Alex Morgan, the project is Executive Produced by Full Fathom Five’s novelist James Frey (I Am Number Four) and Todd Cohen (Lumen), as well as Andrew Orenstein (Malcolm in the Middle).
