Hotter Shoes Mission For Comfort Continues As It Widens Its Collection

Hotter Comfort Concept, the leading women’s comfort shoe specialist, has launched a new EEE width fitting as part of its mission to bring comfort to the nation’s feet.

Following research amongst its online, mail order and high street store customers, the UK shoemaker discovered an increased demand for wider fitting shoes mirroring longstanding trends that show that UK women’s feet are getting wider and longer. To cater for this growing market the company has introduced its best selling Dew and Leap styles in EEE fit for the first time and will be monitoring sales to decide whether to extend the range for Spring/Summer 2011.

“We’ve built our reputation designing and making comfortable women’s shoes that look good and which help keep our customers active,” commented Product Design Director Paul Sayers. “Over the years we have noticed that women’s feet are getting longer and wider, in fact our women’s extra fit (EE fit) shoes make up 45% of our collection and so moving to EEE fit is a logical step.”

Hotter’s new extra extra width shoes will give thousands more women the opportunity to enjoy their shoes and avoid the pain of having to break in new shoes that don’t fit properly. The brand’s design and manufacturing teams have decades of experience creating footwear that looks stylish but which incorporates discrete comfort features such as smooth internal seams, lightweight soles, padded heels and removable insoles.

Paul Sayers said “Nowadays women’s lifestyles in particular are so busy that they can’t afford to slow down because their shoes don’t fit properly and are causing them pain. In a recent YouGov survey we discovered that by far the majority of women refuse to endure pain caused by new shoes for longer than thirty minutes and for us even this is too long. Women’s shoes should be immediately comfortable and fit perfectly, which means offering plenty of half fit and width fitting options.”

Hotter Shoes Commitment To Comfort Revitalised By Surprising Survey Results

Hotter Shoes, women’s comfort shoe specialist, has pledged to continue its drive to create the world’s most comfortable shoes following the surprising results of a new YouGov survey.

“We were amazed to find out that only one third of women wearing a pair of shoes which extremely hurt their feet would kick them off immediately and walk in bare feet,” commented product design director, Paul Sayers, who leads a team of comfort shoe designers who are determined to take the ‘owww’ out of new shoes. “What was most worrying though was a hardcore of 15% would struggle on for more than 30 minutes and 45% would manage for at least ten minutes in shoes that caused them ‘extreme pain'”

It’s not just long term damage that women are subjecting their feet to according to this research, 63% of women have had blisters on their feet due to wearing a favourite pair of shoes and 44% of women aged 18 and over have endured burning sensations on the balls of their feet.

Hotter is committed to giving British women choice and pain free footwear. With its 50 year heritage the company has drawn up a list of comfort features which are essential to every pair of shoes it creates including leather uppers, deep toe boxes and supportive, flexible soles.

“Women need to start taking care of their feet and wearing shoes that not only fit properly, but ensure their feet can move around and breathe,” added Paul. “Taking care of your feet now will pay dividends in the future and ensure you’re not crippled with pain or worse still, facing surgery caused by poorly fitting shoes.

“At Hotter Comfort Concept all of our shoes are crafted to ensure feet are always in the best possible care. Whether it’s the air bubbles that we inject into the soles of our shoes to provide comfort and support, or the wider fittings that are available to ensure the shoe fits as it should we are confident we are creating the most comfortable shoes our customers will ever wear.”

Over the past 50 years Hotter has hand crafted thousands of comfortable women’s shoes to ensure feet stay in the best condition. Hotter shoes are available in half sizes and extra wide fittings with soft cushioning and flexible soles.

North West Based Hotter Flies The Flag For UK Manufacturing

Hotter Comfort Concept, the Lancashire based shoe manufacturer, has reaffirmed its mission statement to keep manufacturing in the UK. This statement comes at a time when Cadbury’s, one of Britain’s best loved businesses, faces US takeover.

Hotter Comfort Concept, which is celebrating 50 years in the industry, is one of a few UK businesses currently beating the recession. Manufacturing 1.3 million pairs of footwear each year in the UK, Hotter is one of the world’s most technologically advanced shoe making factories and last year turned over £37.5m and made profits of £5m.

In light of the current economic climate and imminent Cadbury’s takeover, Hotter has renewed its commitment to remain true to its British roots with company values built on enthusiasm, passion and courage. Managing director, Stewart Houlgrave has seen many changes in the industry over the years and is determined to see Hotter shoes beat the recession and prove that the UK manufacturing industry is strong in the economic downturn.

Stewart commented: “The recession has seen many of our well known high street names disappear. Woolworths was probably one of the biggest last year and the recent Cadbury takeover is a shock and great loss to the UK manufacturing industry.

“My parents set up Beaconsfield Footwear over 50 years ago and I’ve grown up with the brand and through our business decisions and operations created some of the most advanced shoe manufacturing technology in the UK. I am proud that we are proving it’s still viable, and indeed a lucrative proposition, to manufacture and sell shoes in the UK with a British workforce.”

Over the past six years Hotter Comfort Concept has invested £6 million and now has one of the most successful production facilities anywhere in the world. Hotter targets the active mature market, where shoe shoppers are investing their cash in the ultimate indulgence for their feet. Many of the hundreds of letters and emails Hotter receives comment on the heritage and firm British roots the company retains.

Hotter Comfort Concept has strong values with a modern outlook on business. Stewart re-affirmed Hotter Comfort Concept’s determination to retain UK roots and that the company is not afraid of future industry change: “When other businesses fled overseas I was sure our future remained here in the UK and I am glad I made that decision all those years ago, despite surprise in certain parts of the footwear industry. I stood by what I believed in and today with a loyal workforce of nearly 400 including a manufacturing plant, call centre and five high street stores, Hotter is going from strength to strength and I’m extremely proud of what we have achieved.”
