Toys“R”Us® Children’s Fund donates $1 million to the Hamilton Education Program

WAYNE, NJ, 2017-Oct-18 — /EPR Retail News/ — As part of its ongoing commitment to support children and families – which includes serving as champions of play for kids of all ages – today (October 16, 2017) the Toys“R”Us® Children’s Fund, a public charity affiliated with Toys“R”Us, Inc., announced it has donated $1 million to the Hamilton Education Program (EduHam). The donation provides thousands of high school students with a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the hit musical HAMILTON through an innovative education program that focuses on history and the performing arts.

Over the course of several weeks, nearly 25,000 Title 1 high school students in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, will learn the past is far from boring. During the program, kids will see history through a new lens by studying Alexander Hamilton and nation’s Founding Fathers, and by creating their own performance, such as an original song, spoken word or rap piece. Toys“R”Us worked closely with the EduHam team – co-founded by Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History – to ensure its donation would give each student a show-stopping final curtain call in their HAMILTON journey: the opportunity to experience the musical first-hand, in their hometown.

MANGO launches new shirt collection to raise fund for Fero Cancer Research Foundation

The fashion chain is to sell five different models in twenty countries worldwide which include messages of support and hope for cancer sufferers

Barcelona, 2017-Oct-11 — /EPR Retail News/ — To commemorate International Breast Cancer Day on 19 October, MANGO has put on sale five different models of t-shirts, created in collaboration with the Fero Cancer Research Foundation, in over 600 stores in twenty countries worldwide.

These t-shirts, 3 for women and 2 for men, in addition to a tote bag, feature messages of optimism accompanied by the iconic pink ribbon as a symbol of support to all cancer sufferers.

All profits from the sales of the t-shirts and bags, retailing at 15.99 and 12.99 euros, respectively, in the Spanish market, will be donated to the Foundation.

Starting tomorrow (June 13), Starbucks will donate 25 cents from each one of its colorful Cups of Kindness beverages sold at participating Starbucks® stores in the United States and Canada through June 19 to Born This Way Foundation. Funds raised will go toward programs that support youth wellness and empowerment by fostering kindness, improving mental health resources, and creating more positive environments.

“We’re healthier and happier when we live our lives with compassion and our communities are stronger when we treat one another with generosity and respect,” said Lady Gaga. “Born This Way Foundation and I are so excited to partner with Starbucks to help inspire positivity and love through the Cups of Kindness collection.”

Cups of Kindness Collection

The new Starbucks Cups of Kindness collection features four vivid iced beverages hand-picked by Lady Gaga, including the new Matcha Lemonade and Violet Drink. The refreshing, nondairy drinks come in a rainbow of colors and are all under 150 calories for a grande size.

“I adore the entire collection and I instantly fell in love with the Matcha Lemonade,” she said.

New Matcha Lemonade:  This vibrant green drink is made with finely ground Teavana® matcha green tea, combined with crisp lemonade then shaken with ice to create a refreshingly sweet, delicious drink.

PHILIPPINES: Felicidad T. Sy Foundation to fund the construction of sports center at Philippine Cultural College’s Quezon City campus

 

Pasay City, Philippines, 2017-May-30 — /EPR Retail News/ — In support of education and sports development, The Felicidad T. Sy Foundation (Foundation) of SM matriarch Felicidad T. Sy has signed an agreement with the Philippine Cultural College (PCC) for the construction of a 600-square meter sports center to be located at PCC’s Quezon City campus.

The Foundation has donated PHP50 million to fund the development of the sports center, the construction of which will commence in the next few months this year. To be named “Felicidad Tan Sy Sports Center”, the facility will house state-of-the-art sports equipment to be used solely for educational purposes and is targeted for completion before the year ends.

PCC, formerly Philippine Cultural High School, was established on June 27, 1923 and is the first and oldest Chinese-Filipino secondary school in the country. It offers pre-school, grade school, junior and senior high school programs that emphasize the teaching of English, Filipino, Mandarin, mathematics, science, and information technology. In 2008, it started offering college education, making it a complete educational system.

PCC currently has three campuses located in Manila, Caloocan City, and Quezon City. The Manila campus is a six-story building at 1253 Jose Abad Santos Street in Tondo, Manila. The Caloocan campus is at 175 8th Avenue Extension, Grace Park, Caloocan City. Both campuses offer pre-school, grade school, junior and senior high school programs. The Quezon City campus, constructed through the concerted efforts and generosity of PCC alumni, houses the College Department of the PCC system. The Quezon City campus is located at 46 D. Tuazon corner M. Cuenco Sr. streets, Quezon City.

Existing facilities at these campuses include libraries, instructional media centers, internet and computer laboratories, speech laboratories, science rooms, audio-visual rooms and auditoriums, basketball gymnasiums and other sports facilities, kitchens and hotel rooms, and a student cooperative store.

The Felicidad T. Sy Foundation is focused on spiritual development and promoting Catholic living in the community. Its programs support the restoration and building of Catholic churches, provide SM employees spiritual programs and care for church leaders and ministers through various special projects among others.
