SSP opens Leon and bar concept Cabin at London Paddington station


London, 2017-Jul-10 — /EPR Retail News/ — SSP Group plc, a leading operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations worldwide, has opened a new restaurant and a new bar at London Paddington station.

The new units are healthy eating brand Leon and bar concept Cabin. The Leon outlet measures 2,700 square feet, and is the second Leon outlet to be opened by SSP. The Cabin, which extends over 2,300 square feet, is SSP’s own concept and has already proven highly popular at other locations such as Waterloo station as well as Manchester, Stansted, Bristol and Newcastle airports.The new developments are located on the balcony, a seating area that overlooks the concourse in the area known as ‘the lawn’.

SSP brings LEON to Liverpool Street Station

LONDON, 2016-Sep-23 — /EPR Retail News/ — Naturally Fast Food chain LEON launches its new menu today [Wednesday 21 September].

The autumn menu includes an exclusive new dish, made in collaboration with professional chef, food writer and TV presenter, Gizzi Erskine. Rooted in their shared passion for satisfying nutritious recipes, and keen to create a fun new menu item together, the LEON X Gizzi Chicken Satay Salad takes inspiration from Gizzi’s cookbook Gizzi’s Healthy Appetite and proves that it is possible for fast food to be good food created by chefs.

It has also opened its new Liverpool Street Station store, the first to be opened by franchise partners SSP. The partners signed a deal earlier this year which will see LEON bring its fun, fresh and fast food to additional new sites in railway stations across the UK.

The chain’s commitment to helping everyone eat well, live well and eat more plants is borne out by the addition of three new vegan items to the menu (coconut bircher, black bean and avocado pot and sweet potato falafel salad). This comes as LEON’s Vegan Superclean Quinoa Salad scooped the Best Vegan Salad award at Peta UK’s Vegan Food Awards.

The Gizzi satay salad comprises a sweet potato, carrot and daikon spiralised salad, topped with LEON’s chargrilled chicken and finished with a punchy pot of satay sauce. A generous sprinkling of LEON’s toasted seeds is added last for extra crunch.

For those reluctant to abandon meat eating entirely, the new menu will include Pulled Ham Black Bean [LEON’s current black bean dish with ham added] and Sicilian Chicken Meatball Salad.

SSP partners with naturally fast food brand LEON

LONDON, 2016-May-23 — /EPR Retail News/ — SSP, a leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, has entered into a partnership with naturally fast food brand LEON. The initial five-year deal will allow LEON to bring its fun, fresh and fast food to an additional number of railway station sites across the UK.

It is expected the first Leon stores operated by SSP will open later this year at London’s Liverpool Street station and in Paddington station.

LEON first opened in London in 2004 and shortly after was named ‘Best New UK Restaurant’ by the Observer. Since then the founders, friends John Vincent and Henry Dimbleby, have opened 34 more stores in the UK.

Guests at LEON stores, run in partnership with SSP, will get the same warm welcome that they do in all LEON stores and have the opportunity to try dishes that have been on the menu since the first LEON opened, including the Moroccan meatball hotbox, the signature fish finger wrap, and the original super food salad, as well as new seasonal specials.
