CarMax opens its 4th store location in the Denver area, located at the city of Golden

CarMax opens its first store in New Hampshire

Company announces contributions to local nonprofit

With the opening of this store, CarMax now has a total of 187 stores across 41 states nationwide. The Manchester location has the capacity to stock approximately 240 used vehicles of nearly every make and model and CarMax customers can also request transfers of almost any vehicle to this store from other CarMax locations throughout the country.

In celebration of the Manchester store opening, CarMax and The CarMax Foundation awarded $7,500 in donations and grants to The Granite YMCA. Support for this organization came at the recommendation of the Manchester CarMax associates.

CarMax makes debut at Delmarva peninsula its 7th store in the state of Maryland

The store is located at 1801 North Salisbury Boulevard and has the capacity to stock approximately 140 used vehicles of nearly every make and model. Customers can also request transfers to the Salisbury CarMax of almost any vehicle from other CarMax locations throughout the country.

In celebration of the Salisbury store opening, CarMax, Inc. and The CarMax Foundation awarded $8,000 in donations and grants to the Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore. CarMax associates from the Salisbury store recently volunteered with the nonprofit and nominated it to receive the contributions. The CarMax Foundation has granted more than $36 million on behalf of associates across the country since 2003.

CarMax opens new stores in Lynnwood and Puyallup in the Puget Sound region

Company contributes $120,000 to benefit area children

SEATTLE, 2017-Apr-03 — /EPR Retail News/ — CarMax, Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, today celebrated the grand opening of the company’s new stores in Lynnwood and Puyallup, as its first locations in the Puget Sound region. These new stores bring more than 200 new jobs to the area, and will provide customers with a selection of between 200 and 400 vehicle options of nearly every make and model at each location.

“For more than 20 years, CarMax has brought integrity to the used car industry by offering no-haggle pricing and a transparent car buying experience that customers want and deserve,” said Bill Nash, president and CEO of CarMax. “Our company is committed to making every step of the car buying process stress-free for our customers, and we look forward to serving the Puget Sound region with the great customer experience CarMax is known for.”

During today’s grand opening celebration, CarMax announced that The CarMax Foundation will invest approximately $95,000 to build a playground in the Puget Sound area. The playground is expected to be built next year through a partnership with KaBOOM!, a national nonprofit ensuring that all kids get the balance of play they need to become healthy and successful adults.

“CarMax associates are passionate about supporting the communities where we live and work,” said Chasidy Murphy, location general manager of the CarMax in Puyallup. “CarMax is committed to making a positive impact on society and we take pride in giving back and volunteering in our local communities.”

CarMax also announced that The CarMax Foundation will be providing $25,000 in grants and donations to local organizations, including Junior Achievement of Washington and Communities in Schools of Puyallup. CarMax associates in Lynnwood and Puyallup nominated these organizations to receive the contributions and have enjoyed participating in volunteer events with both groups. The CarMax Foundation has granted more than $35 million on behalf of associates across the country since 2003.

CarMax to open new digital and technology innovation center in downtown Richmond, Virginia

RICHMOND, VA, 2016-Feb-10 — /EPR Retail News/ — CarMax, Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation’s largest retailer of used vehicles, today announces plans to open a new digital and technology innovation center in downtown Richmond, Virginia. During the next few months, CarMax also plans to hire more than 50 associates for technology and digital positions, some of which will work in this new location.

CarMax is growing and plans to open 13-16 new stores nationwide each year for the next two years, leading to home office growth and new technology positions in support of stores and strategic initiatives. To address this growth, CarMax plans to lease approximately 26,000 square feet in a mixed-use commercial building in the historic Lady Byrd Hat building located at 140 Virginia St. in Shockoe Bottom. Built in 1894, the building has been used as the Virginia Paper Company, a hat factory, a concert venue and various other commercial purposes including offices.

Open technology and digital positions include a range of roles such as application architects, UX designers, security analysts and software developers. They will be charged with using innovative technology to enhance the e-commerce capabilities that CarMax offers customers.

“Team members have the opportunity to work in a unique environment similar to a startup, but backed by the support of a large, established company,” said Shamim Mohammad, senior vice president and chief information officer for CarMax. “We are looking for a variety of experience levels to develop best-in-class platforms and advance our website, mobile apps and associate platforms to help CarMax continue to deliver an unparalleled customer experience.”
