Mommy’s Time Out Wine, the perfect stocking stuffer for the Holidays

East Hanover, NJ, 2020-Dec-7 — /EPR RETAIL NEWS/ — Mommy’s Time Out Wine is the perfect stocking stuffer, and can be enjoyed by just about anyone on your adult stocking stuffer list. Mommy’s Time Out features four varieties including Mommy’s Time Out Pinot Grigio, Mommy’s Time Out Moscato, Mommy’s Time Out Delicious Red, and Mommy’s Time Out Delicious Pink. All are made from grapes grown in Italy and have wonderful fruity undertones. All the wines are fresh, fruity and well balanced, and are delicious for sipping with snacks or to complement a meal.

Being at Home during the Holidays has changed. Hasn’t it? It used to be the place where we all relaxed after a hard day at work. Not now. We may be home monitoring the virtual learning of our children. We might be working longer hours, because work is now remote, and we still have to monitor the virtual learning of our children. We might have to make them lunch because our kitchen is now the school cafeteria. The producers of Mommy’s Time Out Wine understand and have offered the following thoughts to make the holidays the most enjoyable time of the year.

Keep the Holiday’s Simple; Celebrate at Home with Mommy’s Time Out wine. Being a parent is difficult enough. Make Some Memories that will Last a Lifetime. New Year’s Day is a great day to make some family memories. Try taking a family photo with someone holding up a sign with the year. It’s also a great day to measure everyone against the door jam, so they can look back at their growth in years to come. Remind each other and your children of all the good things that happened, and teach your family how to appreciate what they have. One way to do this is to ask each family member to write down three things they were thankful for in 2020 and share them over dinner during the Holidays or on New Year’s Eve.

“No matter what stage you’re at when it comes to being a Mommy, it’s one of the toughest and most rewarding jobs there is. That’s why we believe Mommy deserves something special for herself now and then, with Mommy’s Time Out Wine.” says Mike Cincotta President of Selective Wine Estates, Inc.

Adults over the age of 21 should enjoy Mommy’s Time Out responsibly.

Timothy Goodman to bring his signature hand-illustrated style to the labels of award-winning ALDI wines

Batavia, Ill., 2017-Nov-02 — /EPR Retail News/ — ALDI has partnered with acclaimed artist, designer and illustrator Timothy Goodman for the upcoming release of a limited edition reserve wine collection. Known for his bold, text-based murals, Goodman traded walls for wine labels to bring his signature hand-illustrated style to a selection of award-winning ALDI wines. The reserve collection, which includes three varietals under the William Wright label, will be sold exclusively at ALDI stores and hit shelves just in time for the holidays.

Goodman’s label art lifts inspiration from the origin stories and flavor notes of each wine to bring striking color and playful iconography to the bottles. “As a visual person, shopping for wine begins with the label,” he says. “I gravitate toward bottles with interesting designs, so I was excited to create a series of labels that would really pop on shelf. Each bottle has a unique design, so you can collect all three to display on your bar or give as gifts over the holidays.”

Its impressive portfolio of award-winning wines makes ALDI a destination for wine enthusiasts looking for diversity of region and varietal at a great value. This limited edition reserve collection consists of a Chardonnay, a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Red Wine Blend and comes highly recommended by experts at the Beverage Testing Institute. The collection will be available exclusively at ALDI stores nationwide on December 13 and will retail at $9.99 per bottle.

“The holidays are the perfect time for sharing or gifting a bottle of wine and we knew Timothy’s designs could elevate that tradition by pairing modern art with award-winning taste,” said ALDI spokeswoman Liz Ruggles.

Whole Foods Market introduces 11 wines curated for the season for its new “Sommelier Selects” program

Company’s in-house expert curates 11 wines for “Sommelier Selects” program, all less than $18

AUSTIN, Texas, 2017-Jun-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — Today (May 31, 2017), Whole Foods Market is launching a new “Sommelier Selects” program in stores, featuring wines curated for the season by the retailer’s Master Sommelier, Devon Broglie. Beginning with bottles for summer, Devon picked each wine to pair exceptionally well with the flavors of the season and offer exciting, foolproof choices for shoppers.

These choices are all less than $18 for a 750 mL bottle, with the exception of a special 1.5 L Magnum of rosé. The “Sommelier Selects” list also highlights leading wine trends like large-format bottles, high-quality canned sangria and chillable reds.

Whole Foods Market is the only national retailer with a Master Sommelier, and Broglie is one of only 236 people in the world to hold the title. Devon’s “Sommelier Selects” include:

Le Pillon Gascogne – “So good, we bought it all! It’s like biting into a freshly picked green apple.”

Bieler Family Daisy Pinot Grigio Blend – “This is THE white wine lover’s wine. Intense, peachy, racy. Perfect outside with ceviche or fish tacos.”

El Terrano Albariño – “You can’t find this anywhere else. Zippy, fresh. Yes to paella, grilled shrimp or tapas.”

West Side Wine Co. Chardonnay – “Pairs with beach blankets! Pineapple and vanilla, touch of spritz. Sip it cold, right out of the can.”

Charles & Charles Rosé – “Ten glasses of wine in each magnum — party on! Spicy, floral, fresh berries. I like it with Mediterranean food… or fried chicken.” To celebrate National Rosé Day on June 10, this wine will be on sale for $5 off that day.

Monterustico Piemonte Rosso – “Amazing quality from one of the best producers out there. Intense structure. More, please.”

OTWC (Oregon Trails Wine Company) Pinot Noir – “Grilling salmon? This is your go-to. Rosemary, plum and just a hint of cherry cola.”

Bodini Cielo Rojo Red Blend – “We had to buy it all! Rich and fruity. Incredible with carne asada or grilled sausage.”

Ancient Peaks Cabernet Sauvignon – “You can put this up against way more expensive wines any day. A classic Paso Robles cab — dense, ripe, toasty. Yes with flank steak.”

Vacanze Italiane Prosecco – “A Sparkler for Fourth of July! Peach and apricot notes are off the charts. Perfect summertime refresher.”

Begonia Sangria – “Going on a boat this summer? You need this. Fruity, easy drinking and fun. Everything you want from sangria.”

These bottles will be featured at all Whole Foods Market stores throughout the summer, and a new “Sommelier Selects” list will be available during the winter holidays.

Tasting notes

Tesco finest* Margaux 2011 – £20.00

In partnership with Chateau Cantenac Boyd

This wine is from one of France’s most prestigious wine making regions – Margaux in Bordeaux, with prices for a single bottle go up to £500! Our award-winning Margaux is bold, rich and well-balanced with vibrant and complex flavours of black fruit, cherries, spices and oak. The ultimate treat for a special occasion.

Food pairing: Enjoy with bold foods such as grilled steak.

Tesco finest* Faugeres 2015 – £8.00

In partnership with Maison du Sud

Faugeres is a region situation in the southern area of France called the Languedoc. The grapes for this wine are grown high up on cool Mediterranean slopes from vines that burrow deep into rich local soil. This powerful red is gifted with full flavours of black fruit, local herbs and a subtle spice and has a long, fresh finish. Unusually this wine has gone through very little filtration in order that the wine retains the essences of the terroir and the typicty of the wine.

Food pairing: Demands bold food, particularly beef dishes and game stews.

Tesco finest* Lambrusco Reggiano Amabile DOC NV – £7.00

In partnership with Cantine Riunite

An Italian, sparkling red wine? Yes! This once dated, uncool variety is making a comeback – especially the more traditional, premium styles. Sealed with the authentic flat cork, this high quality sparkling Lambrusco comes from the very best hillside vineyards of Reggio Emilia. The ancient Grasparossa grape gives this deep ruby-red wine its complex red fruit flavours, and its bright, dry juicy finish.

Food pairing: Drink chilled alongside barbecued and cured meats.

Tesco finest* Valpolicella Ripasso 2014 – £11.00

In partnership with Cantina Valpantena

From Northern Italy’s famed Valpolicella region comes a bold but well-balanced wine full of dark fruit flavours. Taken from the Italian word to ‘pass by again’, this red is passed twice through the grape skins to create a darker colour, richer texture and a complex and smooth taste. This is made exclusively for Tesco in partnership with Cantina Valpantena; true specialists of Valpolicella Ripasso.

Food pairing: Beautiful with aged cheeses, stews and braised meats.

Tesco finest* St Emilion Grand Cru 2011 – £16.00

In partnership with Chateau Val d’Or

Another classic region, St Emilion is situation on the right banks of the famous Bordeaux region of France. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this wine are picked by hand and blended together to create a distinct and complex concentration of intense blackberry and blackcurrant flavours. Oak ageing produces notes of cedar and spice which give way to a long finish.

Food pairing: An excellent accompaniment to classic roast meats.

Tesco finest* Barbera d’Alba 2014 – £8.00

In partnership with Lo Zoccolaio

A traditional Italian grape variety, these Barbera grapes grown on the Lo Zoccolaio estate in Piedmonte, North Italy. This rich wine has delicate perfume, ripe tannins and layers of flavours of plum, raisins and spices.

Food pairing: Best with roast beef or ravioli.

Tesco finest* Mercurey Rouge ‘Selection Georges’ 2015 – £14.00

In partnership with Bouchard

From the classic Burgundy region of Franc, this 100% Pinot Noir has been exclusively produced for us at the historic family-run Bouchard winery. In tribute to our very own wine expert’s Grandfather, this medium bodied wine has layers of red and black fruits and savoury spice notes.

Food pairing: This wine brings out the best from red meats, roast pork and poultry-based stews.

Tesco finest* Gaillac Perle 2016 – £7.00

In partnership with Castel Freres

With its delicate spritz, mouthwatering stone fruit flavours and aromas of fresh citrus, this dry Gaillac Perle is both crisp and elegant. Produced in one of the oldest winemaking regions in South West France and hailed as the next Picpoul de Pinet, it is a lively and modern wine with ancient heritage.

Food pairing: Perfect as an aperitif or paired with grilled fish and shellfish.

Tesco finest* Minervois La Liviniere 2015 – £9.50

In partnership with Domaine de la Baume

The vineyards in the tiny French region of La Liviniere sit high in the foothills of the Pyrenees, with chalky soil below and plenty of sun above. These are ideal conditions to produce full bodied and characterful red wines like this one – packed with generous flavours of tapenade, juicy black fruit and dried herbs.

Food pairing: It is the perfect match with hearty stews.

Tesco finest* Vire Clesse 2015 – £11.00

In partnership with Bouchard

A beauty from Burgundy, this wine is harvested from a number of small, carefully selected quality Chardonnay vineyards and partially aged in oak for added complexity. A deliciously crisp and creamy white wine with apple and citrus aromas offset by characteristic minerality and a long finish

Food pairings: A ripe white that adds depth to poultry, seafood and softer cheese.

Tesco Win Green Retailer of the Year Award

Tesco, the leading UK retailer in beers, wines and spirits, won the Green Retailer of the Year at the Drinks Business Green Awards held at the end of March.

Tesco Win Green Retailer of the Year Award

Tesco picked up the award following a number of measures being taken by the retailer to make its packaging for alcoholic drinks as environmentally friendly as possible.

Tesco currently has 461 packaging reduction projects in beers, wines and spirits. So far, the retailer has have delivered 24,047 Metric Tonnes of BWS packaging reduction with another 8,000 MTs to be delivered in the next 6 months. Tesco has also driven the development of wines in Tetra Pak to increase their acceptability in the UK market. Tetra Pak is made of 75% paperboard, a low carbon raw material which they are working towards having 100% certified, currently by FSC. The hugely successful Tesco Value Spanish wines, packaged in Tetra Pak, have sold about 20,000 units per line per week since launch and the range was expanded to include a New World Value range from Chile in 2009.

As well as reducing packaging, Tesco has been active in driving glass reduction. Lightweight bottles have saved 5,500 MTs of glass on the retailer’s Own Label wines and even lighter ones are currently being pioneered. Additionally the proportions of recycled glass in Tesco’s Own Label bottles has been driven up by Tesco and now stands at 90% recycled content in green glass bottles and 35% for flint (clear glass).

Importing New World Wines in bulk and bottling them in the UK has saved 52,000 tonnes of carbon emissions. Wines are ferried from Liverpool to Manchester on barge, taking 50 lorries of the road per week, saving 700,000 miles of emissions.

Tesco is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its delivery services as well. Delivery vehicles have been fitted with black boxes which monitor fuel consumption and drivers have been given advanced training to maximise fuel efficiency.

Following the successful introduction of carbon labelling on Tesco own brand products last year, the retailer is currently developing the first ever carbon footprinted Own Label wines with Highfield Estate in New Zealand (accredited by PAS2050). These will be a NZ Sauvignon Blanc and a NZ Pinot Noir.

In an effort to spread its knowledge to its customers, Tesco is putting additional levels of information on the back labels of wine bottles. These will include details on packaging reduction, disposal (recyclability), proportion of recycled material and carbon footprinting. Tesco has points of sale in its stores to encourage people to consider green options when making their purchases.

Venulum Has Recorded A 27% Increase In Sales Figures For Cadman Fine Wines

Venulum set up the retail business in 2004 under the Cadman Fine Wines brand to compliment the wine investment side of the business.

Giles Cadman, Chairman of Venulum Group, said, “The increase we are experiencing is due to an expanding customer base, together with increased internet sales driven by unique promotional offers. We were also short listed by Decanter Magazine for the UK online wine merchant of the year which no doubt helped broaden our visibility”.

Giles Cadman believes that what really sets the business apart from other fine wine merchants is the ability of his clients to order fine and rare wines by the bottle. Clients are also able to make up their own cases and choose from themed mixed cases – offering a premium selection of wines. Giles shares a passion for fine wines with his clientele; from 1st growth Bordeaux, Grand Cru Burgundy and Super-Tuscans, to new wines from newcomers to wine production.

“Having a retail presence also benefits our investment clients who invest in forward purchase agreements, En Primeur and wine contracts,” explains Cadman. “When the wine contracts become physical we have the opportunity to sell back to the trade or to sell retail through Cadman Fine Wines and retain more of the margin for our investors” he adds.

A majority of Cadman Fine Wines clients come from the web and the site is continuously developed to take advantage of the latest technology. A lot of traffic has been driven by very good reviews from highly regarded independent wine websites

Mike King, Director of Venulum En-Primeur and Wine Limited, has also seen the benefits of having a retail business when dealing with negotiants in Bordeaux and Burgundy. King heads the team who make the annual pilgrimage to the French tastings to buy on behalf of Venulum Wine Limited, Venulum Wine LLC and Cadman Fine Wines. “Negotiants want profile for their product and so we are very attractive to them because we market their wines” he explains. “We get preferred status on most allocation lists now which gives us significant buying power” he adds.

About Venulum:
The Venulum Group is a multinational private wealth management firm headquartered in the British Virgin Islands. The Group manages the wealth of high net worth individuals, and specialises in alternative investments often not available to the general public. Venulum helps high net worth individuals balance their portfolios.

The Venulum Group was formed in 2002, and has expanded to include offices in four countries, with service offices in a further two. Since 2002 Venulum’s client base has expanded rapidly, and now has a substantial number of United States based clients.
