London, 2017-Feb-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — TODAY (01 Feb 2017), Wednesday 1st February, Currys PC World announces the launch of its UK’s Lowest Price campaign – a guarantee to be the UK’s lowest price on at least one key big-brand product each week in the run up to Easter – giving customers great value across the items that truly matter.

To further support this, Currys PC World will also be introducing Price Freeze which will see the UK’s largest electrical retailer freezing the price of hundreds of must-have products – including Samsung washing machines, Bosch kitchen appliances, laptops from HP, and LG 4K TVs – to December 2016 prices.

UK’s Lowest Price and Price Freeze will be complemented by the retailer’s existing Price Promise which gives customers the reassurance that they are getting great value with a guarantee to match or beat prices from competitors, even if they’re running a voucher-offer discount and even up to seven days after purchase.

What’s more, shoppers can take advantage of Your Plan – the retailer’s flexible credit plan – to make getting the latest tech more affordable, with a range of payment terms and credit amounts to suit each customers’ needs on big ticket items of £249 and over.

The first UK’s Lowest Price deal will kick off in-store and online this Wednesday and will run for one week only – offering shoppers the HP Stream 11.6” (including one year of Office) for the low price of £195.

Lowe’s Canada to host annual Regional Hiring Day to meet spring and summer demand

CVS Health joins the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement as new national sponsor

Toys“R”Us supports impoverished families with $100M donation over the past 30 years

WAYNE, NJ, 2017-Feb-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — There are 15 million children living in poverty in the U.S. lacking basic necessities like food, clothes and diapers; but also deprived of important play opportunities that help foster critical emotional, physical and cognitive development. Studies have shown, kids who live below the poverty line are more likely to experience delays in brain development, enabling play at an early age enhances the progress of development from 33% to 67%*.

Since 1985, Toys“R”Us has continually strived to combat the harsh realities faced by impoverished families through its partnership with K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers, a nonprofit organization that connects retailers (as well as manufacturers, foundations and individuals) with local nonprofit agencies. Over the past 30 years, the company has donated more than $100 million in books, toys, clothes, diapers, bottles, food (and more) from its 885 Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us stores in the U.S., distribution centers and corporate office to community-based charities across the country, providing them with items needed to help keep children safe and healthy.

Kmart launches ‘The Ridiculously Awesome Billion Point Giveaway’ during the ‘Big Game’

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., 2017-Feb-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — No matter which team fans are rooting for in this year’s ‘Big Game,’ the one thing everyone can cheer for is free Shop Your Way Points® from Kmart. Kmart is launching ‘The Ridiculously Awesome Billion Point Giveaway’ to give members the best win of all. The promotion gives members a chance to earn a share of one billion points if one of five designated ‘ridiculously awesome’ things happen during the ‘Big Game.’

“On television’s biggest night, we knew Kmart also had to go BIG! ‘The Ridiculously Awesome Billion Point Giveaway’ by Kmart is a whole new take on the twists and turns that could happen during a game,” said Kelly Cook, chief marketing officer, Kmart. “We are rooting for one of Kmart’s ridiculously awesome moments to happen so members can win big and shop till they drop!”‘The Ridiculously Awesome Billion Point Giveaway’ will award members with a share of one billion Shop Your Way Points. The number of points that each member receives will be determined by the number of pre-determined moments that occur during the ‘Big Game’ on Sun., Feb. 5. Members should keep their eyes open for Kmart’s ‘Ridiculously Awesome’ pre-determined moments such as:

  • Special teams or defense scores a touchdown
  • A Clydesdale runs in slow motion
  • The halftime entertainment wears a cowboy hat
  • Someone does a touchdown dance
  • A team wins on the last play of the game

THE ‘BIG GAME’ CELEBRATION GETS BIGGER
Kmart’s first-of-its-kind Virtual Experience Recreational Vehicle (V.E.R.V.) bus has toured the nation, so far making stops along the west coast. Its next stop will be in the Houston-area to celebrate the ‘Big Game’ and give fans around the country a reason to download the Kmart app and cheer on ‘The Ridiculously Awesome Billion Point Giveaway.’

Kmart’s V.E.R.V. bus was designed by world famous, West Coast Customs. Fans can participate in the fun at the Players Tailgate on Sun., Feb. 5. It is outfitted with the latest in technology and design, olfeaturing digital displays, interactive photo booth, shoe customization station, unique product displays and more. Once inside the bus, participants can slip on a virtual reality headset to play hundreds of virtual reality games and experiences like Football VR on Steam, Fruit Ninja and theBlu.
