Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, 2017-Feb-22 — /EPR Retail News/ — The first INTERSPAR Hypermarket in Zalaegerszeg, western Hungary, opened 17 years ago. In order to satisfy increasing customer demand, SPAR Hungary has decided to modernise the store at an investment of 1 billion HUF. The renovations will take place in two phases and will include the addition of an INTERSPAR- to-Go restaurant.
While the 4,230 m2 retail space of the INTERSPAR Hypermarket will remain the same, its appearance will change significantly. New refrigerator units will be installed, floor tiles will be replaced and the whole store will be re-painted. In the second phase, the entrance area will be transformed and the customer service areas, shelves and counters will be renewed. The end result will be an innovative and attractive environment, complying with all current customer demands.
The INTERSPAR-to-Go restaurant will be a highlight of the new INTERSPAR Hypermarket, offering freshly prepared warm meals, as well as sandwiches, salads, soft drinks and coffee. Free WiFi access will be available in the restaurant.
Energy-saving systems have also been taken into consideration with new heating and cooling systems being implemented as well as cost-efficient LED lighting. The fire alarm, speakers and electrics will also be replaced.
SPAR Hungary has continued to modernise its retail estate, refreshing supermarkets and hypermarkets as well as growing into new areas. Licensing of independent retailers has seen rapid growth into smaller store formats in recent years.
