The Award is a testament to the Company’s sustainability accomplishments and ongoing commitment to making positive impacts for people, the environment and communities. The award was presented to PVH Corp. Chairman & CEO, Emanuel Chirico, by actress and fashion icon, Brooke Shields.

Shields wryly asked and answered, “Do you know what comes between PVH and sustainability? Nothing.” She added more seriously, “When a powerful company makes sustainability a priority, the positive influence of their leadership can be felt across the globe.”

Watson Group (ASW) and its retail brands in HK were awarded the Green Office Label in the Green Office Awards Labelling Scheme (GOALS) organised by World Green Organisation (WGO), to recognise for our commitment and achievement in implementing green practices within workplace. Pasay City, Philippines, 2017-Mar-08 — /EPR Retail News/ — In the fourth quarter of last year, the Department of Agriculture (DA) with the help of Go Negosyo, finalized an agreement with supermarket and restaurant chains to source directly from local onion farmers and help them sell their produce. As the first to support the initiative, SM Markets immediately ordered and successfully moved 20 metric tons of Nueva Ecija onions. To continue its support, the company has already placed a new order of 100 metric tons or approximately 90,718.5 kilos of red and white onions from Nueva Ecija-based BONEA Multi-purpose cooperative, the local source endorsed by DA Secretary Manny Piñol. The onions are expected to arrive on the second week of March and will be available in select SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket, Savemore Market, and Waltermart branches in Metro Manila.

SM Markets’ continuing support is part of the SM group’s commitment to the government and Go Negosyo’s initiative to promote produce grown by local farmers. Led by Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol and Presidential Adviser on Economic Enterprise Joey Concepcion, the program aims to provide local farmers better access to the market through SM’s chain of stores and other retailers all over Metro Manila.

“Our customers have embraced the DA’s initiative to help the local farmers of Nueva Ecija. We are very pleased to report that we have ordered more than double the previous quantity of onions and we are making it available in more SM Markets stores this time. So far, the partnership between DA and major retailers is going well and we are looking forward to more joint ventures in the future,” says SM Markets consultant for external affairs Pong Ejercito.

While not a large user of eggs or food items with egg as an ingredient, FOCUS Brands will work with its suppliers to ensure that all of its restaurant menu items will contain only cage free eggs by 2026.

London, 2016-Aug-04 — /EPR Retail News/ —  Costa Express, the UK’s leading self-serve coffee bar, has been awarded the ISO14001 International Standard due to its commitment to sustainable practice. This standard provides an approach to environment management as well as all the practical tools to implement and respond to changing environmental conditions.

Measures have been applied across every aspect of Costa Express. The machines themselves now have insulated boilers to make them more efficient and reduce energy usage, meaning energy savings of around 400 watts per day. New boilers are being supplied with the insulation as standard, whilst older boilers are all being upgraded to fit the insulation. This will improve the overall life of the boiler and achieve long term energy savings.

Costa Express has also assessed the current water usage of machines, optimising the amount of water required for use. The team are looking at how best to minimise the amount of water required to run and clean the machines.

The Costa Express fleet which supplies the machines uses telematics to enable the planning team to route the field teams effectively. They are also working to reduce maintenance callouts to lessen the environmental impact of the vehicles and encourage efficient driving by measuring fuel economy.
