WASHINGTON, 2017-Jun-16 — /EPR Retail News/ — OFD Foods, LLC., an Albany, Ore. establishment, is recalling approximately 197 pounds of beef product that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically rubber, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced toda)y (June 13, 2017).

The beef hash item was produced on Dec. 22, 2016. The following product is subject to recall: 

  • 3.88-oz. pouch of “MOUNTAIN HOUSE FREEZE DRIED SPICY SOUTHWEST BREAKFAST HASH,” with pouch code 3253174 and best by date of Dec. 2046.

The product subject to recall bears establishment number “EST. 1394” inside the USDA mark of inspection. This item was shipped to retail locations nationwide and sold directly to consumers through internet sales.

The problem was discovered when a firm employee reported finding pieces of rubber in the product on June 12, 2017.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

Consumers who have purchased this product are urged not to consume it. This product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Armour Eckrich Meats recalls ready-to-eat sausage products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials

This recall does not impact retail consumers. The product was never sold in retail stores.

This is a voluntary recall of a limited quantity of Eckrich® Cheddar Smok-y smoked sausage products sold to our foodservice customers ONLY.

WASHINGTON, 2017-May-25 — /EPR Retail News/ — Armour Eckrich Meats, LLC, a Junction City, Kan. establishment, is recalling approximately 90,978 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of metal, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today ( May 24, 2017).

The food service fully-cooked pork, turkey and beef breakfast sausage items were produced and packaged from April 26 through April 28, 2017. The following products are subject to recall:

  • 8,769 cases of 16.6 oz. vacuumed packages containing “ECKRICH SMOK-Y CHEDDAR BREAKFAST SAUSAGE, NATURALLY HARDWOOD SMOKED” on the label, case code/ UPC number “27815 17984,” and a Use By date of “08/17/17.”

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 3JC” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to distribution centers in Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

The problem was discovered on May 15, 2017 when Armour Eckrich Meats, Inc. was notified by another FSIS-regulated establishment that pieces of metal were embedded in a fully cooked sausage product produced by Armour Eckrich Meats, Inc.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

WASHINGTON, 2016-Nov-09 — /EPR Retail News/ — Klement’s Sausage Company, Inc., a Milwaukee, Wis. establishment, is recalling approximately 1,689 pounds of beef and pork products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today (Nov. 8, 2016).

The ready to eat beef and pork snack stick products were produced on May 13, 2016. The following products are subject to recall: 

  • 1-oz. plastic packages containing 2 pieces of “KLEMENT’S ORIGINAL SNACK STICKS NATURALLY HARDWOOD SMOKED NO MSG ADDED GLUTEN FREE” with a sell by date of 11-16-17 and case code of 3262.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 2426B” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to vending distributors in Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

The problem was discovered on October 6, 2016, when a consumer complaint was filed to the FSIS Des Moines District Office. The Des Moines District Office was notified and began an investigation.

The FSIS Eastern Laboratory found several additional pieces of foreign material ranging in size from 1 to 4.88 mm in other unopened packages.

The company has received one report of an oral injury associated with consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

WASHINGTON, 2016-Nov-07 — /EPR Retail News/ — OSI Industries, LLC, a Fort Atkinson, Wis. establishment, is recalling approximately 21,403 pounds of chicken products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today (Nov. 6, 2016).

The ready-to-eat chicken products were produced on Aug. 5, 2016. The following products are subject to recall:

  • 35-oz./2 lbs 3 oz frozen plastic packages containing “ON-COR CHICKEN PATTIES MICROWAVEABLE” with Best by Date 8/5/2017

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-5615” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin.

The problem was discovered when the firm received notification of three consumer complaints mentioning firm blue plastic in their product. The product was contaminated around the time a trim repair was made on belt material.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
