RIMOWA collaborates with Fendi to design an exceptional suitcase

Paris, 2017-Dec-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — To celebrate the 80th anniversary of its iconic aluminum suitcase, RIMOWA has unveiled an exclusive collaboration with Fendi. For the first time, the benchmark in premium luggage has combined its expertise with the savoir-faire of the Roman fashion house to create a unique carry-on case.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of RIMOWA’s emblematic line of aluminum luggage. To mark the event, RIMOWA has teamed with Fendi to design an exceptional suitcase with the Roman fashion house.

RIMOWA stands apart for its unyielding quest for excellence, constant innovation and impeccable craftsmanship. Now, for the first time, RIMOWA has combined its savoir-faire with the inimitable style of Fendi. “RIMOWA stands for design, durability and craftsmanship, and Fendi is the perfect partner with their distinctive DNA and bold creativity,” says Alexandre Arnault, co-CEO of RIMOWA.

The two Maisons have created an aluminum carry-on case with sophisticated Fendi styling details, including the emblematic Fendi double F logo in brushed aluminum that changes perspective in different lighting, as well as a web belt that runs across the case. Fendi’s artisanal savoir-faire is featured in Cuoio Romano leather handles and the black neoprene interior lining, also embossed with the double F logo. The case is a concentrate of RIMOWA innovations too, fitted with the silent Multiwheel® system for optimum maneuverability and the Flex-Divider system for the most efficient possible packing.

“We are thrilled to be the first Maison in the LVMH Group to work with RIMOWA, a world leader in premium luggage. This case expresses the distinctive DNA of both Maisons, resulting in a superb quality contemporary piece for both women and men,” said Pietro Beccari, President and CEO of Fendi.

Fendi inaugurates its first flagship store in Milan

Fendi inaugurates its first flagship store in Milan

Paris, 2017-Apr-14 — /EPR Retail News/ — During the recent Salone del Mobile furniture fair in Milan, Fendi inaugurated its first flagship store dedicated to the Maison’s distinctive universe of home furnishings and design. With an exceptional location on via Montenapoleone in the heart of Milan’s famous “Quadrilatero della moda” and just a few steps from the Fendi boutique, the new store features Fendi’s vast savoir-faire, applied to an exceptional lifestyle collection.

An intimate atmosphere reigns in the Palazzo Carcassola Grandi in Milan, where Fendi Casa recently opened its first flagship. This 16th century palace with interiors decorated with frescos and inlaid wooden ceilings welcomes the Fendi universe for the home, a distinctive combination of expert craftsmanship and elegance.

Materials including leather, bronze and marble create an interplay between design accessories and spaces that showcase the items in the Fendi Casa Contemporary collection. The color palette is defined by elegant contrasts with a continuous balance between light and dark tones.

With its minimalist aesthetic, the 400-square-meter space welcomes the contemporary mood of the Conrad armchair and the  Ford table. New pieces designed by Toan Nguyen and presented at the Milan Furniture Fair – including the Soho Lite sofa and the Blixen armchair – are joined by lamps designed by Italian architect Marco Costanzi.

This new store and its collection bridging fashion and design perfectly resonates with the codes of the Maison, says Pietro Beccari, President and CEO of Fendi: “The opening of the first Fendi Casa store on Via Montenapoleone marks a major step for Fendi in the world of design. This space is a tribute to our DNA, expressed in the close proximity to the Fendi boutique – both physical and in terms of values.”

LVMH Houses – Fendi, Louis Vuitton and Loewe present at the Milan International Furniture Fair

Paris, 2017-Apr-08 — /EPR Retail News/ — Milan, Italy showcases the latest in furniture and design at the Milan International Furniture Fair, from April 4-9. Three LVMH Houses – Fendi, Louis Vuitton and Loewe – are taking part in the event, proposing a sophisticated and intimate art de vivre with collections that blend design, fashion and craft.

FENDI CASA

Fendi Casa presents an elegant and refined collection at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2017, featuring an exclusive version of the Palmer sofa by French industrial designer Toan Nguyen dubbed Six Shades of Palmer. With a dégradé of six hues ranging from intense passion red to a delicate powder pink, his design enhances the graphic lines of the sofa, which has a modular structure to play on the contrasts.  Other items in the collection feature trompe-l’œil motifs on wallpaper, plays on volume with the sinuous lines of the new Stiletto chair, and the elegant Ford table. Tones oscillate between neutral nuances like ivory, chalk and ecru to shades of green, pastel pink and cherry.  A harmonious balance between design and fashion, the Fendi Casa collection celebrates elegant lines and high-quality materials.

LOUIS VUITTON

Created in 2012, the Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades collection carries on the Maison’s long tradition of crafting exceptional travel objects. The collection is enriched with ten new items this year, the fruit of collaborations between designers and Louis Vuitton that embody shared ideals. Inspired by Brazilian bombocas candies, the playful sofa by the Campana brothers is designed like a puzzle with eight removable cushions. The talisman-inspired nomadic side table by India Mahdavi features remarkable leather marquetry, while the leather straps on the stunning chair by Atelier Oï resemble Louis Vuitton belts.

LOEWE

For its third contribution to the Milan International Furniture Fair, Loewe presents its Loewe: This is Home collection. A category-spanning universe that combines art forms and expert craft techniques, the line encompasses furniture, lamps, blankets, ceramics and cushions. Conceived by Jonathan Anderson in the spirit of a collage, the collection brings together canework, ceramic vessels with leather details and dyed wool motifs. Handmade in Spain and the U.K., the pieces invite fashion and craft into the home. After Milan, the project will travel to Paris, London and Madrid.

Bulgari
The Italian jeweler innovates continually, associating its mastery of precious materials with Swiss watchmaking precision. The precious new Serpenti Incantati watch highlights the iconic serpent theme, a symbolic creature long since tamed by Bulgari. In this interpretation, for the very first time the reptile coils around the watch dial. Each part of the head and the body has been entirely rethought and redesigned with extremely contemporary lines. There are four choices: a rubellite or diamond version, each expressed through two different interpretations. These beautiful contemporary tributes to historic models testify to this timeless motif’s permanent capacity for renewal.

Hublot
Hublot once spotlights its innovation and materials expertise with a new watchmaking first: an exceptional series of 500 Big Bang Unico Sapphire models cut straight from sapphire. The sapphire crystal is almost as hard and scratch-resistant as diamond. It is extremely difficult to machine, and has until now been reserved for one-of-a-kind pieces or very private collections.

Without losing sapphire’s unique and rare character, Hublot has made it more accessible with this absolutely transparent collection that consecrates the acclaimed architecture of the Big Bang model and the performances of the brand’s Unico movement. Finishes, textures and materials fuse to create an indivisible whole. The case middle, bezel and back of the Big Bang Unico Sapphire are cut from blocks of sapphire. Its skeleton dial made from transparent resin reveals all the gears of the movement and its finishes. The strap is invisible so that the skin can be seen through it, for an ethereal look.

Dior unveils a new series of eight exceptional unique pieces: the Dior Grand Soir collection. The Studio’s creative inspiration for the new Kaléidioroscope model comes from embroideries designed by Monsieur Dior. To express this rich and colorful concept, this model was developed in 36 mm. The voluminous dial is adorned with mother-of-pearl, ornamental stones, polished gold petals and precious stones. The bezel is set in diamonds, sapphires or tsavorite garnets in geometric shapes, accentuating the bewitching symmetry of the dial. The jean strap reflects Dior’s modern style. Fendi inaugurated its new headquarters at the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana

ROME, ITALY, 2015-11-6 — /EPR Retail News/ — On October 22, Fendi inaugurated its new headquarters at the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana. An iconic symbol of Roman architecture, the landmark building underwent major renovation work that was funded by Fendi, which continues to support the heritage of the Eternal City.

After completely funding the restoration of the Trevi Fountain, Fendi has supported the renovation of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana (Palace of Italian Civilization), which had sat unoccupied for over 40 years. Built for the Universal Exhibition in 1942, which never took place, the monument became a symbol of Italian creativity and savoir-faire.

Dubbed the “Square Colosseum” by Romans, the building has been rejuvenated after two years of work directed by architect Marco Constanzi. Bathed in lighting designed by artist Mario Nanni, the monument is now home to Fendi’s corporate offices, as well as its furs workshop, which embodies the unique know-how of the Roman house.

“We are proud to give back to Rome and to the entire world the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, a symbol of our Roman roots and of the continuous dialogue between tradition and modernity, values that have always been at the very heart of Fendi,” said Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Fendi.

Fendi has also made a point of devoting the first floor of the palace to art exhibitions open to the public. The first exhibition, entitled Una Nuova Roma. L’Eur e il Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, retraces the history of the Palazzo and runs until March 7, 2016.

Fendi and Pucci celebrated women with an accent on seduction at Women’s Fashion Week in Milan

MILAN, ITALY, 2015-10-1 — /EPR Retail News/ — Before hitting the Parisian runways, Women’s Fashion Week took place in Milan, where Italian designers showcased their Spring/Summer 2016 collections. Each in their own way, Fendi and Pucci celebrated women with an accent on seduction.

The Pucci catwalk was an eagerly anticipated event that marked the young designer Massimo Giorgetti’s debut collection as creative director, following his appointment in March 2015. The show paid homage to Emilio Pucci’s summers in his favorite city, Capri. A subtle range of blues and layers of pearls and metallicized materials gave Pucci’s silhouettes the look of urban mermaids. Pieces were asymmetrical, split, pleated and layered, subtly revealing a spirit of liberty and boldness.

Karl Lagerfeld celebrated 50 years of collaboration with Fendi with a show spotlighting his unique approach to leather, the material that made the Roman brand’s reputation. Materials were graphic, geometrical, pleated, braided and voluminous. The collection played with a range of chic reds, notably a coral leather bloomer playsuit, one of the show’s outstanding pieces.
