The long-awaited store finally opened its doors at 12:00 November 18th. One of the world’s largest fashion retailers H&M greeted nearly 2000 fashion lovers who was lining up from 5 AM in the morning to be among the first to grab the latest fashion. The 3000 square metre store which spans over three levels, houses a selection of fashion and accessories for men, women, youth and kids.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 2017-Nov-21 — /EPR Retail News/ — The earliest H&M customers were welcomed with coffee, water and snacks. The lucky first 1003 customers entering the store received gift cards, including 200 GEL to the 1st in line, 100 GEL to the 2nd and 50 GEL to the 3rd in line and the rest 1 000 received 30 GEL. The 1003 fans also received a limited edition tote bag as a gift celebrating the opening of the store. Customers also received 20% off the entire assortment, all day. Charismatic Tv presenter Irakli Makatsaria and actress Salome Kokuashvili  together with popular DJ Rembo, counted down to the opening. H&M joyous staff team performed a lively dance in honor of opening of the first store in Georgia. Claudia Oszwald, the Country Manager for H&M Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Georgia together with Store Manager officially cut the red ribbon and welcomed the first eager shoppers.

Amazon announces plans for a new fulfillment center in Macon, Georgia

New facility brings Georgia presence to four fulfillment centers

SEATTLE, 2017-Nov-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) today (Oct. 31, 2017) announced plans for a new fulfillment center in Macon, Georgia. When opened, Amazon will create more than 500 new full-time jobs at the facility. The company currently has more than 2,000 full-time employees at three fulfillment centers located in Braselton, Lithia Springs and Union City.

SPAR further expands in Georgia with its 36th store and still to open 10 more by year-end

Georgia, 2017-Oct-26 — /EPR Retail News/ — SPAR Georgia are delighted with their progress having opened eight new stores in a few months, bringing the total number of SPAR stores in the country to 36, five of which are operated by SPAR Georgia’s sub-license partners. SPAR Georgia has now penetrated three new local markets and is planning to open up to 10 additional stores by year-end.

All new stores are between 110 and 135m2 in size.  SPAR Georgia focuses on offering a broad selection of fresh produce and traditional Georgian baked goods, complemented by a local Food-to-Go offering. The destination departments in the new stores also include SPAR Georgia’s new Own Brand Daily Choice range, launched this past summer. Daily Choice is a range of ready-made meals for busy people who are in a hurry and in need of some nourishing food. Only introduced a month ago, the range already includes cakes, salads, Georgian baked products, as well as pizza, french crepes, and of course warm, seasonal meals.

During the development of the new stores,  experiences from previously opened supermarkets was taken into consideration and adapted to suit each location, especially with regards to the store layout, department designs, instore communications and the assortment offer.

SEATTLE, 2017-Jun-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) today announced plans for a new fulfillment center in Jefferson, Georgia. When opened, Amazon will create 1,000 new full-time jobs at the facility. The company currently has more than 1,500 full-time employees at its existing facilities in the state.

Naloxone now available at Rite Aid Pharmacies in Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia and West Virginia

Camp Hill, Pa., 2017-Feb-17 — /EPR Retail News/ — Rite Aid announced today (Feb. 15, 2017) that naloxone, a medication that can be used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, is now available at more than 630 pharmacies in Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia and West Virginia without a prescription, subject to state regulations. Previously, naloxone, which can be administered by injection or nasal spray, was only available with a physician’s prescription.

Naloxone is also available for purchase without patient specific prescriptions at Rite Aid pharmacies in 17 additional states including: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

To date, Rite Aid has trained more than 10,000 pharmacists on naloxone dispensing. Rite Aid is   also working to expand its naloxone dispensing program in other states served by the Company where naloxone is currently only available with a prescription.
