Auntie Anne’s® partners for the sixth year with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to help fund childhood cancer research

LANCASTER, Pa., 2017-Jul-19 — /EPR Retail News/ — Auntie Anne’s®, the world’s largest hand-rolled soft pretzel franchise, is partnering for the sixth year with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to help fund childhood cancer research. From today (July 17th, 2017) through Sunday, September 10, 2017, fans of Auntie Anne’s can give the gift of hope by purchasing a pretzel ribbon for $1 to show their support in the fight to end childhood cancer. One hundred percent of proceeds from the pretzel ribbons will be donated to ALSF.

Since the onset of the brand’s relationship with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in 2011, the unique pretzel ribbons have made a difference: together, Auntie Anne’s and ALSF have raised more than $3.1 million to help fund life-saving research, resulting in more than 62,000 cancer research hours. Guests who purchase a pretzel ribbon will receive a coupon for $1 off their next Auntie Anne’s purchase as a thank you. In an effort to amplify contributions, Auntie Anne’s will donate an additional $1 every time a fan shares a picture of their pretzel ribbon on social media using #auntieannes4ALSF.

“For the past six years, Auntie Anne’s has been honored to partner with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and support their mission to raise funds for research into new treatments and cures for all children battling cancer,” said Heather Neary, president of Auntie Anne’s. “From the very beginning, our founder, ‘Auntie’ Anne Beiler, said caring for others was the purpose of Auntie Anne’s. That statement still rings true today. We’re proud to continue our support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and the dream of its founder, Alex Scott, to end childhood cancer.”

Auntie Anne’s and ALSF share a similar history. Both started as single stands in southeastern Pennsylvania, and against impossibly long odds, grew to become international ventures with millions of dedicated supporters. Working together, they hope to raise more than $550,000 this summer to fight childhood cancer.

Auntie Anne’s® donated more than $3 million to fund childhood cancer research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation partnership

Partnership with childhood cancer organization began in 2011

LANCASTER, Pa., 2016-Dec-20 — /EPR Retail News/ — Since establishing a partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) in September 2011, Auntie Anne’s®, the world’s largest hand-rolled soft pretzel franchise, has donated more than $3 million to fund childhood cancer research. Funds have been raised through in-store fundraising campaigns, coin canisters, local events, and the annual Auntie Anne’s C.A.R.E.S. Charity Golf Tournament. These donations have funded more than 60,000 hours of cancer research.

”When Anne Beiler started a pretzel stand in 1988, she said, ‘Caring for other people is the purpose of Auntie Anne’s,’” said Heather Neary, president of Auntie Anne’s. “Nearly thirty years later, that commitment to giving back in the communities where we work and live continues to motivate us. The success of our partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a true testament to the hard work and dedicated service of our entire system, from corporate associates and franchisees to store managers and crew. We’re honored to help ALSF cure childhood cancer, one cup at a time.”

“For the last five years, Auntie Anne’s has been an invaluable partner in the fight against childhood cancer. We are always amazed by the commitment their customers and employees demonstrate in carrying out our daughter’s mission to find a cure,” said Liz Scott, Co-Executive Director of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and Alex’s mom. “Every dollar counts and gives hope to families desperately seeking cures.”

In 2016, Auntie Anne’s has raised nearly $700,000 for ALSF, including more than $520,000 during its in-store fundraising campaign over the summer. Guests who visited Auntie Anne’s between July 18 and September 11 could show their support in the fight to end childhood cancer by purchasing paper pretzel ribbon icons for $1. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the ribbons were donated to ALSF. As a token of appreciation to guests who helped “give hope” via the ribbon campaign, Auntie Anne’s provided a $1 off coupon for their next purchase of any pretzel product or drink.

An additional $35,000 was raised for ALSF during the 21st Annual Auntie Anne’s C.A.R.E.S. Charity Golf Tournament on July 21. The tournament featured more than 200 golfers and raised a total of $140,000 for four deserving organizations. Each organization, including ALSF, received $35,000. Since 1996, the tournament has raised more than $1.8 million for charitable organizations.

Auntie Anne’s plans to open 100 new domestic locations in 2015

Lancaster, Pa., 2015-1-9 — /EPR Retail News/ — After a banner year of introducing the first store redesign in company history, expanding into two new countries, and the successful launch of its popular mobile app “Pretzel Perks,” Auntie Anne’s® Pretzels is well positioned for significant growth on all levels in 2015.

Executives with the more than 1,600-unit franchise, made famous by its fresh, hand-rolled snacks, have set a goal of opening 100 new domestic locations in 2015, in large part through continued emphasis in non-traditional growth. Auntie Anne’s, which opened more than 90 new non-traditional units last year, will continue to grow strategic partnerships that brought new locations to Meijer supercenters and Universal CityWalk in Orlando. In less than two years, Auntie Anne’s has built its theme park destination portfolio to an impressive 13 locations nationwide.

Each new location in 2015 will be built incorporating the brand’s new store design. Since its debut in May 2014, more than 40 stores now feature the new look and feel, which resembles a home kitchen with warmer tones, new ovens and redesigned equipment. The new design has been well-received by both franchise owners and consumers.

In addition to domestic growth, the franchise has recently entered Aruba and Canada. The new locations have continued to prove the concept’s ability to adapt in numerous cultures by producing high-performing sales numbers and instantly creating new loyal fan bases. Looking ahead, Auntie Anne’s has set its sights on additional international development opportunities in 2015.

Fans of Auntie Anne’s in America are showing their loyalty, too, through its new “Pretzel Perks” mobile app. Launched in August 2014, a whopping 455,000 pretzel lovers have downloaded the app via iOS and Android. In the year ahead, Auntie Anne’s will focus on generating new downloads and creating customized offers via the app.

“We are incredibly proud of this year’s accomplishments on all fronts. Downloads of our mobile app continue to grow, allowing us to gain more insight and increase loyalty of our guests. Our brand awareness continues to build here and abroad, and we continue to evolve with our new store design. That said, we can’t ever be complacent. In the coming year and moving forward we have to continue to challenge ourselves through a strong emphasis on innovation of menu, consumer engagement, and operations,” said Heather Neary, Vice President, Global Marketing at Auntie Anne’s, Inc.

Auntie Anne’s is currently in 48 states and more than 30 countries and was recently ranked no. 34 on Entrepreneur magazine’s 2015 Franchise 500®. For more information on franchising opportunities with the brand, please visit www.auntieannesfranchising.com.
