K-rauta chain will open its first K-rauta Express store at the Forum shopping complex in Helsinki

HELSINKI, 2015-6-5 — /EPR Retail News/ — The K-rauta chain will open its first K-rauta Express store at the Forum shopping complex in Helsinki. The new concept will be located in city centres and shopping centres to provide easier and faster shopping – ”for shopping to be fun”.

With the new concept, K-rauta aims to attract urban customers by bringing the services of a building and home improvement store close to those who do not use cars.

The product and service selection of a K-rauta Express enables the renovation of, for example, a flat to be planned and ordered on a single visit. A special emphasis in products will be placed in home furnishing and decoration, paints and tools.

– We want to serve urban customers interested in home furnishing and decoration with a new type of concept. The concept is not a larger K-rauta in mini size. Instead, we will offer a store which inspires with a new kind of approach and has good transport links, says Virpi Viinikainen, Chain Director for the K-rauta chain.

The concept will first be tested with 1-3 stores in the Greater Helsinki area and the continuation will be decided based on the experiences from them. The K-rauta Express stores will be run by K-rauta retailers and operate as branches of actual K-rauta stores. The retailers of the first K-rauta Express store, K-rauta Express Forum Helsinki to open in Mannerheimintie, will be Minna and Jussi Perälä who currently run the K-rauta Oulunkylä store.

Information of the opening and possible media conference will be provided separately. The arrival of the new store concept can be followed on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #krautaexpress and on K-rauta’s Facebook pages at http://www.facebook.com/KrautaSuomi
