VAHAN JEWELRY LAUNCHES “HOMME” ITS VERY FIRST MEN’S COLLECTION

NEW YORK, USA, 2017-Sep-11 — /EPR Retail News/ — Historically, Vahan Jewelry only designed pieces that were specifically for women. However, the company has now expanded to include “Homme”, it’s very first men’s collection.

When asked why now? Why expand to men’s jewelry? Greg Der Calousdian, VP of Design responded by saying “Many men feel the need to differentiate themselves from the masses, and choose to do that through self-expression. Those of us who are more fashion conscious will often do it with accessories. That’s why I felt it was time to really bring Vahan into the world of Men’s jewelry.”

Vahan Homme is versatile, contemporary, and delivers fashion savoir faire to the male masses. The collection includes rings, pendants, and a unique line of reversible bracelets. These diverse pieces highlight the brands ability to create aesthetically appealing designs.

“Our Homme collection is geared to add a little pop to a man’s style. A small token of panache to pair with a lonely wrist watch or wedding ring. I’ve created brand new designs for men such as the Pyramid collection, as well as put a more masculine twist on existing Vahan styles like the Buckle bracelet and Tiger cuff. Homme is an exciting new line that will attract men who want to make a statement,” explained Calousdian.

The Homme Collection starts at $625 and is available at various retailers throughout the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.  A list of retailers can be found on Vahan’s website at www.vahanjewelry.com.

Menkind Ranked 79th In The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 League Table!

The Fast Track 100 league table ranks Britain’s 100 private companies with the fastest growing sales over the latest three years.

Menkind is a multi channel retail business offering a wide and interesting choice of men’s gifts through a number of stores across the UK and website www.menkind.co.uk

The year ending March 2010 has been Menkind’s most successful to date and was a period of considerable growth for the company both in terms of turnover and profitability during what, for many, has been a difficult market. This has been achieved due to the strength of the proposition and the flexible operating model which allows Menkind to manage and align costs effectively with market conditions.

The current economic climate has created great opportunities as well as challenges providing Menkind with the opportunity to expand their permanent store base from six stores to twenty, including openings in key major cities such as Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham.

Menkind’s sales have increased 52% a year, from an annualised £3.9m in 2007 to£13.7m in 2010, ranking them 79th in the Fast Track 100 league table published on 5th December 2010 in The Sunday Times.

Dave the Funky Shoulder Monkey Set to Be This Year’s Top Toy at Christmas

The Talkative toy featured on the BBC’s Something for the Weekend’s gadget reviews section is now being sold at Men’s Gifts and men’s accessories retailer Menkind and is bound to be a big hit with children and adults alike this Christmas.

Dave the Funky Shoulder Monkey has been hotly tipped to be a great source of entertainment this Christmas as the product is due for release in October during the build up to December. Toy companies such as Hamleys and Wow! Stuff have both ordered plenty in and placed it within their Top 10 toys for Christmas presents in 2010 and even though one retailer has ordered a huge stock of 450,000 they still don’t think they’ll meet the massive consumer demand for Dave, this year’s most popular monkey.

The toy is touted as an interactive ventriloquist dummy although you can operate it completely hands-free via the remote control which could easily be hidden behind your back or pocket. Dave attaches to your shoulder via a strap that secures Dave on to your shoulder and can interact with you and other people around with a repertoire of over 30 moves and actions. With actions such as laughing, crying, giving high fives and even blowing a
raspberry it is just like having an actual cheeky monkey on your shoulder with the advantage of not having to clean up after him!

Harbir Padda of Menkind had the following to say about the addition of Dave to the company’s Christmas line-up, “Dave The Funky Shoulder Monkey is sure to be a big hit this Christmas with similar ‘virtual pet’ gifts being huge last year, although none have been quite as fun and entertaining as Dave!”

Menkind Stores and it’s online store at Menkind.co.uk are already taking orders for Dave as well as many other popular men’s Christmas gifts such as the Magic Wand Remote Control also featured on TV in the popular Dragon’s Den show where notorious dragon Duncan Bannatyne beat other Dragons to the punch by placing the winning bid for a stake in the Kymera Magic Wand Remote.

For many men’s gifts including remote controlled cars, big boy’s toys and attractive men’s watches visit Menkind.co.uk.

Men’s Gift And Accessories Firm Is Groomed For Success Thanks To Bank And Government Funding

£987,000 enterprise fund cash helps ensure new stores are looking good. EXPANSION plans for mens gift and accessories company Menkind Stores certainly created the right impression with the Royal Bank of Scotland, when it agreed to help fund the company’s plans to open five new stores.

The high street bank decided that Menkind could benefit from a little ‘grooming’ if its plans to expand beyond its original single store and launch a cutting-edge new website were to take it to the next level.

So Menkind Stores’ founder, Paul Kraftman, went to his bank manager, Robert Laurie, with his plans, and was put in touch with the administrators of the government’s Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) scheme.

And the bank helped Menkind secure £987,000 of EFG cash which has gone a long way to funding the buying and fitting out of the five new stores. The funding boost has certainly had the desired effect on the business’s fortunes.

“Our new store openings were fitted out in a new concept, which has proven to be a great success in driving sales,” said Mr Kraftman.

“We are grateful to Robert and the team at RBS for arranging the finance package we needed.”

One thing Mr Kraftman is only too well aware of is the seasonal nature of the men’s gift market, but he believes Menkind’s growth has been achieved because of, rather than in spite of, this.

“Our flexible operating model allows us to manage and align costs so effectively with the seasonality of our market,” he added.

Menkind opened its first store in 2001 in the Lakeside Shopping Centre, Essex. The five new stores are in Aberdeen, Cardiff, Nottingham, Liverpool and Manchester.

Its new-look website, www.menkind.co.uk, is now live in good time for Christmas, and is crammed with thousands gift and novelty ideas for men (and big boys) of all ages to suit every pocket from football gifts to mens watches and remote control cars.

Burton announce VAT price reductions will be passed on to all customers from the 1st December

Following The Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling’s decision to cut Value Added Tax (VAT) from 17.5 per cent to 15 per cent, Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia Group has released a statement on behalf of a group of the high street’s most powerful retailers, confirming they will pass the full VAT cut onto their customers.

The change in the VAT rate will mean huge changes for all the shops in the Arcadia group, as all shelving and register prices will need to be updated. However, Burton, Arcadia, Mosaic Fashions, Bhs, Marks & Spencer, New Look and Next all confirmed in the statement they planned to pass the 2.5% VAT cut on to customers on Monday, or soon afterwards.

The group of retailers covers some of the biggest names on the high street, including; Topshop, Topman, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Evans, Burton, Bhs, Oasis, Coast, Karen Millen, Warehouse, Principles, Shoe Studio Group, Jane Norman, New Look and Next fascias.

The statement by Sir Philip said: “Following the recent announcement reducing VAT from 17.5% to 15%, equating to a price reduction of 2.13%, we are pleased to confirm that it is our intention to pass the benefit of this reduction onto our customers.”

The price reduction will be given on standard rated product and will be applied on, or as soon after Monday December 1 as possible.

The statement added that this would, “allow for the complexities of implementing the changes required.”

It is unclear how the price cuts will be implemented, however many retailers are expected to take off the discount at the till point rather than by re-ticketing stock.

For Burton, all mens clothing, mens suits and mens accessories will be adjusted at point of purchase as of 1st December 2008.
