Fair Oaks, CA, 2018-Mar-09 — /EPR Retail News/ — Raley’s announced the promotion of two key leaders within the organization; Kevin Konkel’s promotion to a newly created role as Chief Operations Officer and Paul Gianetto’s promotion to Senior Vice President, Sales & Merchandising.

“This is an exciting time for Raley’s – we have built a strong leadership team that will support the advancement of our vision and purpose,” said Mark Foley, Chief People Officer.

Kevin Konkel previously held the title Senior Vice President, Operations and in his new role will lead operations in all Raley’s banners and pharmacy operations. He will also lead store design and construction, operations administration, distribution and asset protection. Konkel is a proven industry leader with nearly 40 years of service to the Raley’s organization.

Paul Gianetto will serve as Senior Vice President, Sales & Merchandising. Gianetto is an industry leader with more than 35 years in the grocery business and a graduate of the USC Food Industry Management program. He joined Raley’s in 2008 and has held many roles in merchandising. In 2017, Gianetto was promoted to Vice President of Center Store. In his new role, he will manage strategic pricing, private label, sales & merchandising for both center store and perishable departments.

Paving the way to a healthier community through fresh food, customized amenities, and environmentally responsible practices

Fair Oaks, CA, 2017-Apr-13 — /EPR Retail News/ — Raley’s furthers its vision of health and wellness with the grand opening of a new, state-of-the-art store at Fair Oaks Boulevard & Howe Avenue in Sacramento.

Located in the established Campus Commons/Arden neighborhood, the 35,000-square-foot store will offer customers an extensive assortment of fresh, high-quality food in a unique shopping experience.

“This new store has an even greater focus on health and wellness, with a larger assortment of natural and organic offerings,” said Michael Teel, Raley’s CEO & Chairman of the Board. “The amenities and product mix reflect the direction I envision for all of our stores and will serve this neighborhood well. We are excited to expand our vision to a new market area in Sacramento.”

At the heart of every business decision is Raley’s ongoing drive to infuse life with health and happiness. The store features specialized culinary offerings, including an enhanced food service counter with a Kombucha bar, sushi, a meat carving station, a salad/hot food case, and more. Additionally, the store offers a boutique-like bulk food section featuring spices, herbs and grains, as well as an expanded vitamins and supplements department. To enhance the personalized shopping experience, Raley’s will have on staff two nutritionists and a wine steward to offer guidance in their respective fields to customers.

“As consumer habits have changed so significantly in the last few years it is very exciting to be a part of this new, more efficient approach to grocery shopping,” said Mark Marvelli, Director of Commercial/Retail Studio, Stafford King Wiese Architects.

Raley’s is a leader in sustainability and strives to contribute to a cleaner community. Environmentally-friendly features were a primary consideration in this development. The store is equipped with solar panels that can generate two megawatts of power. The system successfully generates much of the energy needed onsite, relieving pressure on the grid during peak hours. In addition, the store includes many energy efficient features including refrigeration, lighting, and more. In partnership with EVgo, the store has two fast-charging stations, which can provide up to 80 miles of electric range in 25-30 minutes.

“Sustainability is, and will be, part of infusing life with health and happiness for many years to come, as we pave the way to healthier communities,” said Keith Knopf, Raley’s President & COO. “We designed this store with this neighborhood in mind- offering specialized design features, fresh food offerings and personalized customer service.” Knopf also shared that this is the first of five new stores opening in the next 18-months.

Fair Oaks, CA, 2017-Feb-25 — /EPR Retail News/ — Raley’s Owner & CEO, Michael Teel, has announced the promotion of Chief Operating Officer, Keith Knopf to President & COO. Knopf joined Raley’s nearly two years ago, around the time Teel took majority ownership of the company. Teel will continue to direct the development of Raley’s overall strategic plan.

“It is a historic time for Raley’s – and in my life. We took our time to find and hire Keith. He has exceeded my expectations in his less than two years here as Chief Operating Officer and earned the opportunity to take on the role of President & COO,” said Raley’s Owner & CEO, Michael Teel.

Knopf will continue to report to Teel, overseeing all aspects of the business. A proven Fortune 200 leader, with over 25 years retail experience and leadership roles in companies such as Kohl’s, Victoria’s Secret and May Company, Knopf has brought a strong balance of strategy and execution to the Raley’s executive leadership team. He believes in delivering a personalized customer experience and engaging team members in the company’s purpose. Knopf models servant leadership.

Teel will spend more of his time in the community encouraging organizations to join Raley’s in helping consumers make more nutritious food choices to lead healthier and happier lives. He with work with vendors, farmers, government, non-profit organizations, businesses and schools to help Raley’s affect change.

Raley’s announces new store in Truckee, Nevada County

Fourth new market expansion in the last nine months

Fair Oaks, CA, 2016-Jun-15 — /EPR Retail News/ — Raley’s is proud to announce a new store in in the Town of Truckee in Nevada County. Raley’s, in partnership with JMA Ventures LLC, plans to develop a new retail center at the corner of Highway 267 and Soaring Way, adjacent to the Truckee Airport.

The new retail center will be designed to fit the Truckee community with natural wood elements and inspired by lodge-style architecture. The new 35,000 square foot flagship store will serve residents and those visiting the area. Consistent with Raley’s commitment to sustainability, this store will incorporate leading technology in energy conversation and water management.

Customers will experience a full-service store with an extensive assortment of fresh, healthy and high-quality food, including natural and organic offerings. Special emphasis on specialty services, including restaurant-quality grab-and-go options.

In addition to the Raley’s store, the first phase of the center will include an additional 15,000 square feet of retail space. The new retail space will create an estimated 140 jobs to the local community.
