Whole Foods Market teams up with Jewish food authority Joan Nathan this Passover


Dishes from Nathan’s cookbook, King Solomon’s Table, will be available for pre-order March 4

AUSTIN, Texas, 2018-Mar-02 — /EPR Retail News/ — This Passover, Whole Foods Market is partnering with James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and Jewish food authority Joan Nathan to offer selected innovative, new recipes from her cookbook, King Solomon’s Table, for customers to pre-order in-store and online. Nathan’s Passover meal for eight will be available at shop.wfm.com for pre-order beginning March 4.

“I am thrilled to partner with Whole Foods Market to feature some of my favorite recipes for Passover,” said Nathan. “Each dish highlights the diversity of Jewish cuisine, and will be a delicious addition to any Seder table.”

The recipes featured in the Passover meal for eight include: Double-Lemon Roast Chicken, Sicilian Eggplant Caponata Jewish-Style, Fried Artichokes Jewish-Style, Tunisian Carrot Salad with Cumin, Coriander and Caraway, Spinach with Pine Nuts and Currants and Brazilian Haroset with Apples, Dates and Cashews. Dishes will be available for in-store pick-up from March 28 through April 7.

Nathan is the author of numerous award-winning cookbooks, including her most recent, King Solomon’s Table, which just won the IACP International Cookbook Award. It is available on Amazon.com and will be sold in select Whole Foods Market stores beginning March 12.

This marks the third collaboration between Nathan and America’s Healthiest Grocer®. In September and December, 2017, Whole Foods Market featured High Holiday and Hanukkah dishes from King Solomon’s Table on store hot bars, in chef’s cases and for pre-order in Whole Foods Market’s Mid-Atlantic Region in time for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah.

Price Chopper Supermarkets to host Kosher Open House just in time for Passover

Colonie, NY, 2017-Mar-22 — /EPR Retail News/ — Just in time for Passover, Price Chopper Supermarkets will be hosting a Kosher Open House to highlight the breadth of its everyday kosher offer as well as the more than 1,000 Kosher-for-Passover products available for the pending holiday. Kosher store teammates and kosher trade partners will provide samples of everyday kosher and Kosher-for-Passover products, local kosher catering experts will offer cooking tips, and the Vaad Hakashruth will field questions about kosher dietary laws. Passover begins the evening of Monday, April 10 this year.

The open house will be held on Sunday, March 26 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Price Chopper’s Kosher Store in Colonie (1892 Central Avenue), the region’s premier kosher market.

This year’s Kosher-for-Passover display includes the largest ever variety gluten free items.

Representatives from Kosher food purveyors such as Dr. Brown’s, Empire Kosher, 47th Street Pizza, Joyva, Kayco, Kedem Food, Lieber’s, Manischewitz, Meal Mart, Montreal Kosher, Osem, Paskesz, Streit’s, and Tabatchnick will be in attendance to speak with customers.

Year-round, the Kosher Store in the Colonie Price Chopper, under the strict supervision of the Vaad Hakashrut of the Capital District, includes a larger Kosher meat and deli department as well as the area’s only full service Kosher bakery. The expanded department is the largest Kosher section in Northeast New York (between Monsey and Montreal). In addition, the Kosher meat shop, deli and seafood departments will be kashered or prepared for Passover (under the strict supervision of the Vaad Hakashruth of the Capital District) in order to provide customers with the most popular fresh cuts of meat – brisket, Top of the Rib, French Roast, Veal Roast and Turkeys.
