RIMOWA collaborates with Fendi to design an exceptional suitcase

Paris, 2017-Dec-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — To celebrate the 80th anniversary of its iconic aluminum suitcase, RIMOWA has unveiled an exclusive collaboration with Fendi. For the first time, the benchmark in premium luggage has combined its expertise with the savoir-faire of the Roman fashion house to create a unique carry-on case.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of RIMOWA’s emblematic line of aluminum luggage. To mark the event, RIMOWA has teamed with Fendi to design an exceptional suitcase with the Roman fashion house.

RIMOWA stands apart for its unyielding quest for excellence, constant innovation and impeccable craftsmanship. Now, for the first time, RIMOWA has combined its savoir-faire with the inimitable style of Fendi. “RIMOWA stands for design, durability and craftsmanship, and Fendi is the perfect partner with their distinctive DNA and bold creativity,” says Alexandre Arnault, co-CEO of RIMOWA.

The two Maisons have created an aluminum carry-on case with sophisticated Fendi styling details, including the emblematic Fendi double F logo in brushed aluminum that changes perspective in different lighting, as well as a web belt that runs across the case. Fendi’s artisanal savoir-faire is featured in Cuoio Romano leather handles and the black neoprene interior lining, also embossed with the double F logo. The case is a concentrate of RIMOWA innovations too, fitted with the silent Multiwheel® system for optimum maneuverability and the Flex-Divider system for the most efficient possible packing.

“We are thrilled to be the first Maison in the LVMH Group to work with RIMOWA, a world leader in premium luggage. This case expresses the distinctive DNA of both Maisons, resulting in a superb quality contemporary piece for both women and men,” said Pietro Beccari, President and CEO of Fendi.

Fendi inaugurates its first flagship store in Milan

Fendi inaugurates its first flagship store in Milan

Paris, 2017-Apr-14 — /EPR Retail News/ — During the recent Salone del Mobile furniture fair in Milan, Fendi inaugurated its first flagship store dedicated to the Maison’s distinctive universe of home furnishings and design. With an exceptional location on via Montenapoleone in the heart of Milan’s famous “Quadrilatero della moda” and just a few steps from the Fendi boutique, the new store features Fendi’s vast savoir-faire, applied to an exceptional lifestyle collection.

An intimate atmosphere reigns in the Palazzo Carcassola Grandi in Milan, where Fendi Casa recently opened its first flagship. This 16th century palace with interiors decorated with frescos and inlaid wooden ceilings welcomes the Fendi universe for the home, a distinctive combination of expert craftsmanship and elegance.

Materials including leather, bronze and marble create an interplay between design accessories and spaces that showcase the items in the Fendi Casa Contemporary collection. The color palette is defined by elegant contrasts with a continuous balance between light and dark tones.

With its minimalist aesthetic, the 400-square-meter space welcomes the contemporary mood of the Conrad armchair and the  Ford table. New pieces designed by Toan Nguyen and presented at the Milan Furniture Fair – including the Soho Lite sofa and the Blixen armchair – are joined by lamps designed by Italian architect Marco Costanzi.

This new store and its collection bridging fashion and design perfectly resonates with the codes of the Maison, says Pietro Beccari, President and CEO of Fendi: “The opening of the first Fendi Casa store on Via Montenapoleone marks a major step for Fendi in the world of design. This space is a tribute to our DNA, expressed in the close proximity to the Fendi boutique – both physical and in terms of values.”

Fendi inaugurated its new headquarters at the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana

ROME, ITALY, 2015-11-6 — /EPR Retail News/ — On October 22, Fendi inaugurated its new headquarters at the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana. An iconic symbol of Roman architecture, the landmark building underwent major renovation work that was funded by Fendi, which continues to support the heritage of the Eternal City.

After completely funding the restoration of the Trevi Fountain, Fendi has supported the renovation of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana (Palace of Italian Civilization), which had sat unoccupied for over 40 years. Built for the Universal Exhibition in 1942, which never took place, the monument became a symbol of Italian creativity and savoir-faire.

Dubbed the “Square Colosseum” by Romans, the building has been rejuvenated after two years of work directed by architect Marco Constanzi. Bathed in lighting designed by artist Mario Nanni, the monument is now home to Fendi’s corporate offices, as well as its furs workshop, which embodies the unique know-how of the Roman house.

“We are proud to give back to Rome and to the entire world the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, a symbol of our Roman roots and of the continuous dialogue between tradition and modernity, values that have always been at the very heart of Fendi,” said Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Fendi.

Fendi has also made a point of devoting the first floor of the palace to art exhibitions open to the public. The first exhibition, entitled Una Nuova Roma. L’Eur e il Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, retraces the history of the Palazzo and runs until March 7, 2016.
