Nordstrom to relocate its Oak Park Mall store to Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri

SEATTLE, 2018-Feb-06 — /EPR Retail News/ — Nordstrom, Inc. today (Feb. 2, 2018) announced plans to relocate its Oak Park Mall store in Overland Park, Kansas, to Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. The new, approximately 116,000-square-foot store is expected to open in 2021. Nordstrom will continue serving customers at its current location in Oak Park Mall until it relocates.

New York State’s Empire State Development Incentive to Support Company’s Expansion and Relocation to Brookfield’s One Liberty Plaza

REI to relocate its West Hartford store; opening in spring of 2018 at Corbins Corner Shopping Center

More than 15,000 co-op members in the West Hartford area can visit new location in spring 2018

SEATTLE, 2016-Nov-11 — /EPR Retail News/ —  REI, the local outdoor co-op with more than 15,000 active members in the West Hartford area, will relocate its West Hartford store to provide adventurers with an improved store experience and easier access to quality gear and expert advice. Located at Corbins Corner Shopping Center near Interstate 84—just three miles from the existing location—the new store will open in the spring of 2018, pending the city’s approval of the project.

“We know the West Hartford community is passionate about getting outside, which is why it was our first store in the state nearly a decade ago. Since then, we’ve seen the outdoor community grow and felt we could make it easier for our members to get geared up for their adventures at this new location. We look forward to 2018 when everyone—our employees, members and nonprofit partners—can come experience this new hub for the outdoor community,” said Kurt Feilke, REI retail director for the Northeast district.

The new 25,000 square foot store will carry the best gear and apparel for the most popular outdoor activities in the area, and a bike and ski shop for maintenance and repairs. The store will continue to offer outdoor experiences through REI Outdoor School, with upcoming events such as Ski/Snowboard Waxing Basics, Cross-Country Skiing Class and Winter Camping Basics.

Relocating the West Hartford store is part of the co-op’s plan to continue to serve the growing outdoor community in Connecticut, including the more than 32,000 active members throughout the region. In October 2016, REI opened its third store in the state in Milford, which followed the opening of REI Norwalk in 2010.

Since the co-op first came to West Hartford in 2007, REI has supported the impactful work of local nonprofit organizations. In 2016, REI invested $20,000 in four nonprofits throughout the state, including Ragged Mountain Foundation, Riverfront Recapture, Farmington Valley Trails Council, and the Connecticut Chapter of the Appalachian Trail Committee. Arizona: REI Tempe to relocate to Chandler Pavilions shopping center in spring 2017

SEATTLE, 2016-Oct-07 — /EPR Retail News/ — This spring, REI members in Maricopa County will have a new co-op store when REI Tempe relocates to the Chandler Pavilions shopping center—approximately five miles south of the existing location. This new store will offer a larger selection of gear and convenient access to outdoor places to the nearly 25,000 local co-op members and 110,000 members throughout the state.

“The local outdoor community has grown immensely since we first opened this store more than three decades ago, so we’re thrilled to give our customers and members a new, larger store for easier access to our gear and expertise,” said store manager Robert Ford. “Combined with three other stores throughout the state and our new distribution center in Goodyear, we look forward to being a bigger part of this community.”

The new 25,000 square foot store will carry the best gear and apparel for the most popular outdoor activities in Arizona, including hiking, climbing, and mountain biking. The store will continue to offer expert advice from the team of local inspired guides, provide educational opportunities as well as experiences through REI Outdoor School, and support the outdoor community.

Since the Tempe store was the co-op’s first location in the Southwest region in 1986, REI has long supported nonprofits that increase sustainable access to Arizona’s beloved outdoor places. So far in 2016, the co-op has invested $75,000 in six nonprofits throughout the state, which includes three organizations working in the Phoenix area—Arizona Trail Association, Desert Foothills Mountain Bike Association and Maricopa Trail and Park Foundation.

The co-op also opened its newest distribution center in Goodyear, Arizona in July. The facility produces all of its own energy and is pursuing a LEED Platinum rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. REI has invested in a portfolio of river restoration projects to balance the building’s water footprint. In partnership with The Nature Conservancy of Arizona, Friends of Verde River Greenway and Change the Course, the projects at the Verde River include modernizing irrigation infrastructure to reduce water use and help enhance stream flows, funding stewardship projects to protect farmland and limit development and new water extraction in critical areas, removing invasive plants to help restore river habitat, and enhancing recreational access.

JCPenney store at Northridge Mall to relocate at the all-new anchor space on west side of the mall

Rite Aid to relocate its store at Market Street in Harrisburg to Strawberry Square in the heart of Pennsylvania’s capital city

Camp Hill, Pa., 2016-Jun-23 — /EPR Retail News/ — Rite Aid Corporation announced today its plans to relocate its current store at 309-11 Market Street in Harrisburg to Strawberry Square, a one million square foot, mixed use complex located in the heart of Pennsylvania’s capital city.The relocated Rite Aid, which will feature both a street level and interior entrance, is expected to open in December 2016.

Rite Aid is working on the project with Harristown Development Corporation, a private non-profit organization formed in 1974 to revive Harrisburg’s downtown and to reestablish the Harrisburg core area as the heart of the City, the economic and cultural center of the metropolitan area and as a thriving capital city. Harristown Development Corporation is announcing soon additional redevelopment plans for new and existing tenants within Strawberry Square.

The new 14,000 square foot store, will feature the Company’s highly popular Wellness store format, of which there are currently more than 2,100 of nationwide. Rite Aid’s wellness store format, which first debuted in spring of 2011, is part of the company’s continued commitment to providing services, products and resources to help its customers and their families live healthy lives.

From the street level entrance, customers will find a wooden floor path leading directly to the pharmacy department, the core of Rite Aid’s business. Wellness stores have pharmacists with special training in diabetes care, medication management and the ability to immunize against about a dozen diseases including flu, pneumonia, shingles and whooping cough. Also available to customers as a resource, a Wellness Ambassador, which serves as a bridge between the front end of the store and the pharmacy.
