Woolworths.co.uk Hand Out Free Royal Wedding Street-party Packs

Woolworths.co.uk, the online family superstore, has handed out free royal wedding street-party packs to residents of streets, avenues, drives, closes and terraces with Kate, Catherine or William in their name to help celebrate the most anticipated marriage of the last three decades.

Based on pre-sales of Royal Wedding decorations and royal wedding souvenirs, Woolies predicts that on the day of the Royal Wedding, the UK will see a minimum of 1,000 street parties.

Woolworths has identified 740 streets across the UK with Kate, Catherine or William in their name, and is offering residents of these streets the free street-party pack to enjoy the big day.

Woolworths.co.uk is predicting that outside of London, Yorkshire is expected to host the highest number of street parties as it is home to 39 William and 14 Catherine streets, closes, drives, avenues, terraces, lane and roads.

Other hotspots across the country have been identified as Liverpool (9xWilliam & 3xCatherine), Birmingham (6xWilliam and 1xCatherine) and Southampton (4xWilliam & 2xCatherine).

Woolworths is also putting a call out to the two William Streets and the one Catherine Street in Hull to join in the celebrations, as the city is the least likely to host a party, with the council there announcing that they have received no applications for street parties to date.

Dan Rubel, head of family fun at Woolworths.co.uk, said: “Our research tell us that those living on streets with a royal connection are most likely to throw a street party on the date of the Royal Wedding.

Woolworths.co.uk Anticipates High Sales Ahead Of Royal Wedding

Woolworths.co.uk has announced it is expecting high sales of party decorations and wedding memorabilia as the UK prepares for the Royal Wedding.

Dan Rubel, brand director at the online family superstore commented: “With the Royal Wedding just around the corner, as well as the Easter bank holiday coming up, people are planning their street parties now and making sure they don’t miss out on royal wedding souvenirs before the big day.

“Many families will be spending this period at home due to the warmer weather and tighter budgets, which has meant a big rise in activity on the site, particularly in the Royal Wedding party range.”

To date Woolworths.co.uk has sold enough bunting to go around Buckingham Palace four times, enough balloons to cover a football pitch and enough Royal Wedding party cups and glasses to serve champagne to everyone in London and Liverpool combined.

The Royal Wedding has got everyone in the party mood, opting to spend money on royal wedding decorations and merchandise from the site for a fun, family weekend.

Toy buyers from Woolworths.co.uk have also announced that Woolworths has doubled its order of popular children’s outdoor toys and furniture to meet demand, as families treat their children to keep them entertained during the bank holidays, including the Royal Wedding. Following the hot weather this month Woolies’ sales hit record levels, and with three bank holidays approaching, sales are expected to soar.
