Seattle-based Nordstrom plans to hire 11,800 part-time and full-time seasonal employees for the holiday season

SEATTLE, 2015-10-15 — /EPR Retail News/ — Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) will hire approximately 11,800 seasonal employees for its Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores, as well as its fulfillment centers to support Nordstrom.com, Nordstromrack.com and HauteLook. Part-time and full-time seasonal positions are available, with the possibility of some roles becoming regular positions.

Nordstrom 2015 Holiday hiring:

  • Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack will hire approximately 10,000 people in sales and stock positions at its 120 Nordstrom stores in the U.S. and Canada and 188 Nordstrom Rack stores in the U.S.
  • 1,600 people to support the company’s ecommerce business at its fulfillment centers located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Elizabethtown, Penn. and San Bernardino, Calif.Positions are available in all three shifts in Receiving, Stock Control, Picking, Packing and Inventory.
  • 150 seasonal roles at HauteLook in Los Angeles in Member Care and Photo Studiooperations.

Belk to hire 5,800 seasonal employees to support locations throughout the company’s 16-state footprint during the holiday season

CHARLOTTE, N.C., 2015-9-29 — /EPR Retail News/ — Belk, Inc. is hiring an additional 5,800 seasonal employees to support locations throughout the company’s 16-state footprint during the holiday season.

Four-thousand employees will be hired to assist with sales floor functions such as selling, straightening and folding, maintaining fitting rooms, etc. The other 1,800 positions will be dedicated to store operations work such as in-store e-commerce order fulfillment, unloading and processing freight as it arrives from the distribution facility each day, prepping the sales floor and merchandising. All positions are part time position, and there are opportunities for dedicated, high-performing individuals to transition to full time Belk associates after 90 days.

Lowe’s plans to hire approximately 30,000 seasonal employees at its stores in the United States during spring

MOORESVILLE, N.C., 2015-1-22 — /EPR Retail News/ — Lowe’s announced today it plans to hire approximately 30,000 seasonal employees at its stores in the United States during spring – the busiest time of year in the home improvement industry.

Seasonal jobs are focused on customer service and include cashiers, lawn and garden employees, loaders, and stockers. Most seasonal employees will work an estimated 20 or more hours per week. Experience in any of the home improvement trades is a plus.

Seasonal employees are most needed in spring and summer months, typically from February until September, when weather has improved and customers are tackling both indoor and outdoor home improvement projects. The company plans to hire and train new seasonal employees on a market-by-market basis. Hiring has already begun in Florida,California, Texas and Arizona where warmer, spring-like temperatures are beginning.

“As spring arrives, our stores are stocked with products homeowners use for their indoor and outdoor projects.
