Albertsons to offer same-day grocery delivery service through partnership with Instacart

Agreement offers faster, more convenient same-day delivery choices.

Boise, ID, 2017-Dec-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — Albertsons Companies, one of the nation’s largest grocery retailers, today (November 28, 2017) announced it will increase customer convenience through an agreement with Instacart, the technology driven, nationwide on-demand grocery delivery service, by offering same-day deliveries in as little as an hour.

When the platform is fully developed, Instacart customers will be able to choose from Albertsons Companies banner stores across key market areas, for a speedy, convenient option to receive their groceries, furthering Albertsons Companies’ mission to reinvent the way consumers discover, purchase, receive and experience food.

Under the agreement, Instacart’s delivery service is expected to be available in more than 1,800 of Albertsons Companies’ customers’ favorite stores across the country by mid-2018. This year, Albertsons Companies began rolling out same day delivery and Drive-up & Go, and acquired meal kit company Plated.

Albertsons Companies’ SVP of Pharmacy, Health & Wellness Mark Panzer expands role to include General Merchandise and HABA

Boise, ID, 2016-Feb-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — Albertsons Companies announced today that Mark Panzer, who was named the Company’s Senior Vice President of Pharmacy, Health & Wellness in May 2015, has accepted the additional responsibility of leading General Merchandise and HABA.

He held senior leadership roles at American Drug Stores and Albertson’s, Inc, following their merger in 1999, as well as Rite Aid and Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, Inc. He returned to Albertsons in May 2015 to oversee the company’s Health & Wellness Initiatives and 1,760 pharmacies.

Albertsons Companies announced the appointment of Tamara Pattison as SVP of Digital Marketing & eCommerce

She began her career at Safeway in 2006 as the Director of Product Management on the eCommerce team, and was promoted to Group Director of Loyalty Product Management in 2011 to develop the digital execution for the just for U initiative. In 2013, she was promoted to Vice President of Product Management for Loyalty, leading loyalty product and program strategy for two years prior to the merger with Albertsons.

AB Acquisition LLC announces the appointment of Mark Panzer as SVP of Pharmacy, Health & Wellness

(collectively Albertsons) announced today that Mark Panzer has been named Senior Vice President of Pharmacy, Health & Wellness, overseeing the company’s 1,760 pharmacies in 34 states across the country. Panzer replaces Darren Singer, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Panzer’s retail career began at Osco Drug stores over 40 years ago. He moved into roles in Regional Sales and Marketing and Regional Operations for the drug store chain, eventually serving as District Manager as well as Director and subsequently Vice President of Sales and Marketing with American Drug Stores. Those roles led to his being named Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Albertsons following its merger with American Stores in 1999. In 2001, Mark left the company to join Rite Aid as Executive Vice President of Store Operations, and in 2005 was named Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for that company, leaving in 2008 to become President & CEO of Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, Inc.
