Overstock.com’s mobile app named the Web Marketing Association’s Best Shopping Mobile Application for the 2015 Mobile Web Awards

SALT LAKE CITY, 2016-01-13 — /EPR Retail News/ — Overstock.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSTK) announced today that its mobile app has been named the Web Marketing Association’s Best Shopping Mobile Application for the 2015 Mobile Web Awards. This marks the fourth consecutive year in which an Overstock.com mobile app has been honored by the group.

The award is one more in a string of recent mobile app successes for Overstock.com. The online retailer recently surpassed the 5 million app download milestone, with 76 percent of its mobile app shoppers as repeat customers. The app was also featured as one of the best-rated retail mobile apps available in a study by ARC from Applause, and the retailer’s Android app has been named as an Editor’s Choice in the Google Play Store.

“We are committed to delivering an exceptional shopping experience to every one of our customers, including the millions who have downloaded our mobile shopping apps,” said Overstock.com President Stormy Simon. “Trends have changed, and as we see more and more customers choosing to shop on mobile devices, it is rewarding to have Overstock.com acknowledged as a leader in mobile commerce.”

Mobile Web Award candidates are judged on: creativity, design, interactivity, use of the medium, impact, content, and ease of use. Apps that receive the highest average score from the judges within a given industry category are named winners.

The free Overstock.com Apple iOS and Android mobile apps focus on providing the user with useful and engaging features, such as personalized push notifications for upcoming sales and deals. The iOS app adds the fun to functionality in the form of the “Lott-O” feature, an in-app “scratch card” that, when uncovered, can award lucky users a unique coupon discount for use on the website.

Overstock.com celebrates its shopping website’s 16th birthday with its largest annual Overstocktober event

Biggest Overstocktober Event in Company History

SALT LAKE CITY, 2015-10-5 — /EPR Retail News/ — Overstock.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSTK) is celebrating the shopping website’s 16th birthday with its largest annual Overstocktober event, being held Oct. 1 through Oct. 16.

The online retailer has pumped up its traditional birthday sales event to mark the birthday milestone, with savings of 16 percent on its most popular categories, including furniture, jewelry, garden and patio, bedding and bath, and home décor. There are also a number of specially selected $16 deals, along with a Daily Deals section with deeply discounted products across a number of categories.

“Without the support of our loyal customers, we wouldn’t have made it past our first birthday,” said Overstock.com President Stormy Simon. “To be still standing on our 16th birthday, able to share our celebration with everyone, shows that whether it’s 1999 or 2015, savvy online shoppers are finding quality and value they can trust at Overstock.”

Throughout Overstocktober, customers will have a chance to win prizes through Daily Dig, an onsite product scavenger hunt. A clue will be posted every day hinting at a product or category that is being featured as that day’s Daily Dig. Once a customer solves the riddle and clicks on the product, he or she will see a Daily Dig icon appear on the product page. Selecting that icon allows him or her to enter to win a separate prize for that day, and every entrant is automatically in the running for the grand prize of $1,000, awarded at the conclusion Overstocktober. Official rules, terms and conditions can be found on the Daily Dig page.

In addition to free shipping, special offers and first look at new deals, Club O Gold members will receive increased loyalty rewards of 16 percent on qualifying purchases. Annual Club O Gold memberships are currently on sale for $16, normally $19.95. Anyone who wishes can subscribe to email and join Club O Silver for free and receive rewards of 2 percent on every purchase.

Overstock.com President Stormy Simon announced winner in the category of innovation at the 2015 Women Tech Awards

The Women Tech Council Recognizes Winners at 8th Annual Women Tech Awards

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, 2015-9-23 — /EPR Retail News/ — Overstock.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSTK) President Stormy Simon was announced as the winner in the category of innovation at the 2015 Women Tech Awards, held yesterday at The Grand America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.

The Women Tech Council (WTC), which organizes the annual event, awarded one winner for each of the following categories: Student Development, Rising Star, Customer Excellence, Technology Trailblazer, Innovator, Technology Leadership, Leadership Excellence, and Impact Award.

“To be on a list with 15 other amazing women, that alone was a win for me,” said Simon. “To actually receive an award was incredible.”

The initial pool of 55 nominees was whittled down to 16 finalists who participated in an afternoon of interviews with judges appointed by the WTC to determine the winners.

Founded in 2007, the WTC provides mentoring, visibility, and networking for women who currently work for technology companies, and for those who work in technology roles in other market sectors.

Simon began her career with Overstock.com in 2001 in a temporary position, and quickly became instrumental in helping to grow the e-commerce pioneer into an industry-leader in online sales. She was named president of the company in 2014 after serving in various leadership roles in nearly every facet of the organization, and also holds a seat on Overstock.com’s Board of Directors.
