Passengers’ in-kind donations help support service men and women around the world

This is almost 500,000 more items than donated in 2016!

Paradies Lagardère’s Treat Our Troops program provides travelers, as well as airline and airport employees, the opportunity to purchase goods – from socks and snacks to phone cards and sundries – which are then distributed to military personnel overseas through the USO and other military service organizations. The program also includes free meals for troops from Memorial Day to Independence Day, and “pay it forward” opportunities in which customers donate meals for active or retired military personnel. Treat Our Troops is a national program that facilitates customer donations in many of the U.S. airports in which Paradies Lagardère operates stores. Shoppers are given the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of useful items such as snacks, beverages, toiletries, reading materials, and electronics, which are then placed in a collection box. Working in conjunction with airports and the United Service Organization (USO), Paradies Lagardère coordinates packaging and delivery of these donations to USO offices across the country. In 2016, the program resulted in donations of more than 1.2 million products to military men and women worldwide.
