Seattle Gourmet Foods recalls Dilettante Chocolates Espresso Blend, Espresso Beans may contain undeclared almonds

 

Kent, Washington, 2017-Nov-15 — /EPR Retail News/ — Seattle Gourmet Foods of Kent, Washington is recalling 127 cases of Costco item # 2335, Dilettante Chocolates Espresso Blend, Espresso Beans in Semisweet, Milk and White Chocolate, because it may contain undeclared almonds.  People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Dilettante Chocolates Espresso Blend was distributed to Costco Business Centers located in Lynnwood, Washington and Tukwila, Washington, and Costco Northwest located in Salt Lake City, Utah between August 22, 2017 and November 9, 2017.

The product is packaged in a clear plastic bag, net weight 5-pounds and has the UPC 37041 05211.  The affected product is labeled as Dilettante Chocolates Espresso Blend, Item# 2335, Lot Code 12287, and has the Best By 021619.

There have been no any illnesses or deaths reported to date in consumption of the recalled product. No other Dilettante packaged products are affected.

The recall was initiated after the firm discovered the chocolate covered almonds were mixed and packaged with the Dilettante Espresso Blend.  Product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of almonds.

Seattle Gourmet Foods is deeply sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused to our customers and has implemented a more standardized control of blending procedures to avoid errors like this in the future.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds should not consume the recalled product and should return Dilettante Chocolates Espresso Blend to the place of purchase for a full refund.  Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-206-957-9834 from 5:00am to 3:30pm PST on Monday to Friday.

Hicksville, NY, 2017-Apr-14 — /EPR Retail News/ — Nassau Candy Distributors of Hicksville, NY, is voluntarily recalling 8 oz. bags of H.E.B brand Pomegranate Infused Cranberries Covered in Dark Chocolate because they may contain undeclared Almonds. People who have allergies to Almonds run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The product is packaged in 8 oz. zipper bags with UPC CODE 041220985883 and has a Best By Date of 02/27/18 on the lower right back panel of the packaging. No other product or Best By Dates are affected by this recall.

The recalled Pomegranate Infused Cranberries Covered in Dark Chocolate was distributed to H.E.B in San Antonio, Texas. All product with the Best By Date of 02/27/18 has been removed from the store shelves and destroyed.

The company has received one allergy complaint to date.

This recall was initiated after it was reported via a social media complaint that a bag contained almonds but were not listed on the packaging. The company continues its investigation into the matter and has temporarily suspended production of this item.

Consumers who have purchased the 8 oz. bags of H.E.B brand Pomegranate Infused Cranberries Covered in Dark Chocolate are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Marich Confectionery recalls Valentine Chocolate Caramel Hearts that may contain undeclared almonds

Hollister, California, 2017-Jan-30 — /EPR Retail News/ — Marich Confectionery of Hollister, California is voluntarily recalling 4.25oz Valentine Chocolate Caramel Hearts UPC CODE 797817-44440-9 because it may contain Triple Chocolate Toffee which contains almonds. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Product was distributed in California, Oklahoma and Minnesota in retail form.

The product can be identified by its Valentine’s Day themed packaging. It comes in a 4.25oz (120g) bright red and pink box with the product name of Chocolate Caramel Hearts. The lot code being recalled is 0031711 with a best by date of 9/30/17 and can be found on the bottom of the package.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing almonds was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of almonds. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company’s packaging processes that resulted in the packaging mix up.

Greencore, USA Inc. North Kingston, Rhode Island voluntarily recalls Evolution Fresh Nonfat Greek Yogurt due to the potential for Undeclared Almonds

SEATTLE, 2015-9-25 — /EPR Retail News/ — Greencore, USA – Rhode Island, Issues Allergy Alert due to the potential for Undeclared Almonds in Evolution Fresh Nonfat Greek Yogurt with Strawberry and Granola Parfaits Sold in 266 Locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, Vermont and Maine

Greencore, USA Inc. North Kingston, Rhode Island, is voluntarily recalling approximately 379 pounds (997 individual parfaits) of Evolution Fresh Nonfat Greek Yogurt with Strawberry and Granola parfaits because the product may contain undeclared almonds. People who have an allergy or sensitivity to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The Evolution Fresh Nonfat Greek Yogurt with Strawberry and Granola products were produced on September 21 and distributed to approximately 266 Starbucks retail stores in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, Vermont and Maine. No other regions are affected. To date, the company has not received reports of illnesses associated with consumption of these products, and all affected product has been removed from stores.

The following product is subject to recall:

6.1oz. Evolution Fresh Nonfat Greek Yogurt with Strawberry and Granola,(UPC: 7 6211107474 4, ‘enjoy by 9/24’)

This isolated issue affects only this date code of product. No other codes or products are affected

The problem was discovered when product checks discovered that the granola in some individual Evolution Fresh Nonfat Greek Yogurt with Strawberry and Granola contained almonds. Greencore has determined the cause and has worked to eliminate the issue. Greencore, USA, Inc. takes food safety and the protection of customers and consumers very seriously. It has robust traceability systems and took immediate action, working with our customer, on being informed of the potential problem.

Customers who have purchased the affected product and have not yet consumed it may return the products to the Starbucks store in which they were purchased for a full refund.
