Makro Unveils New Website

Wholesale retailer Makro has launched its brand new website, giving its customers more choice than ever before.

The wholesale supplies provider, which has more than 30 outlets across the UK, has spruced up its online offering with thousands of new products as part of its commitment to staying ahead of its rivals. The relaunch comes in the early stages of the run-up to the crucial festive season, with particularly fierce competition expected in the British retail sector this year.

A whole host of new categories have been added to the wholesale products site, including office supplies, toys and Christmas items. In addition, several dedicated shops have been launched, selling products such as electrical goods, hotel essentials, stationery and professional catering items. Makro has also added a dedicated Christmas shop in time for this year’s festivities.

“We’re excited to finally unveil our new website and are confident our customers will make the most of what we have to offer them,” said Paul Ramage, website manager. “We have a broad base of consumers and we know they need a wide range of items to choose from, which is why we’re committed to ensuring we continue to offer an extensive variety of quality products at great prices.”

More than 8,000 product lines are available at Makro’s updated online store, including the limited edition Tefal Actifry, the Numatic Henry HR200 vacuum cleaner and the Tefal Turbo Pro Steam Generator. Makro Customer Drives Away With A Great Prize

An East Yorkshire man has got his hands on a brand new van after winning Makro’s Drive Away Giveaway promotion.

Hull resident Steve Jones was delighted to take possession of the £12,000 Nissan NV200 after being selected from 53,616 nationwide entries, following a competition set up to celebrate wholesale products supplier Makro’s 40th anniversary.

Steve said: “My work in water treatment takes me all over the country, anywhere from Kent to Scotland. I always have a lot of tools and equipment to carry with me, so this van is great. It’s the perfect size for everything I need.”

Steve, a waste water and effluent treatment engineer, entered the competition at Makro’s Hull wholesale suppliers store, where he shops for tools for his job. He added: “Because I travel so much for work, it’s going to make life much easier having a brand new van to drive.”

Ian Fergusson, general manager at Makro Hull, said: “We are delighted that one of our customers has been selected as the winner of this competition. Steve has been a customer of ours for many years and it’s great that his loyalty has been rewarded.
“A big thank you also goes to Nissan Bristol Street Motors, for its support in supplying the van prize.”

A total of eight vans are up for grabs in the Drive Away Giveaway, as well thousands of pounds of vouchers.

To enter the Drive Away Giveaway competition, customers enter their unique receipt code and a date at Makro’s dedicated anniversary microsite, www.makro40th.co.uk. Four of the eight vans have now been won and the next winner draw will take place on 12 October.
