Asda introduces the NEW Takeaway Cheesy Chips Mega Pizza

Asda introduces the NEW Takeaway Cheesy Chips Mega Pizza

LEEDS, UK, 2017-Oct-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — Asda introduces its most deliciously decadent pizza yet. The NEW Takeaway Cheesy Chips Mega Pizza is inspired by one of the nation’s favourite guilty pleasures. The novel creation follows the recent food frenzy around extravagant inventions such as the Mac ‘N’ Cheese Pizza and Lotta-Chocca Pizza

What could possibly be better than crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside chips covered in tangy melted cheese? When they’re loaded on top of a delicious, deep-pan cheese and tomato pizza base. Naturally.

Asda has seen two wondrous worlds collide with the launch of its latest creation  the NEWTakeaway Cheesy Chips Mega Pizza – combining two of the nation’s favourite dishes. It consists of a bed of fries slathered with a truly tempting three cheese mix and sweet chilli sauce, kicking back on a 13.5-inch pizza base.

As winter approaches and the urge to spend Saturday nights snuggled up in front of X Factor or your favourite box set grows, the moreish mash-up rivals the extravagance of takeaway favourites such as Mac ‘n’ Cheese Pizza and Lotta-Chocca Pizza and is mere quarter of the price of popular pizza chains.

An Asda spokesperson, said: “We know the nation has a soft spot for cheesy chips, it’s an undeniable guilty pleasure that deserves to be honoured and what better way than on top of a pizza? If you’re looking for the ultimate indulgence to create the perfect Big Night In, look no further.”

Asda range of mega 13.5 inch takeaway pizzas also includes the Takeaway Mac ‘n’ Cheese Mega Pizza and the Takeaway Beef Kebab Mega Pizza.

Asda’s new Takeaway Cheesy Chips Mega Pizza will be available in Asda stores from 25thSeptember with a RRP of £4.00.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 2017-Oct-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — Yesterday (2 OCT, 2017), WWF, Solidaridad and Pesticide Action Network UK released their Sustainable Cotton Ranking 2017 were they are assessing company performance in connection to sustainable cotton cultivation.

The H&M Edition autumn 17 collection

Aaron Bobrow, H&M Edition

Stockholm, SWEDEN, 2017-Oct-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — The biggest trend in menswear right now is about the perfect staple pieces, as proven by the H&M Edition autumn 17 collection. It’s the second season from H&M’s new premium menswear line of timeless pieces, building on its core belief that it’s the precise details that count. The campaign features the American artist Aaron Bobrow, a young creative who typifies the H&M Edition world. Following its online debut in March, H&M Edition will now also be available in all H&M stores that carry the men’s Trend concept, from October 19.

or autumn 2017, there’s a fresh focus on smart functionality, whether it’s the precision of a re-examined wool parka, the padding of a zip-up leather jacket, the texture of boiled wool check sweater or the exact cut of a 5-pocket pair of jeans. A grey wool cashmere coat nods to tradition, while a zip-up plaid jacket brings the country to the city.

“This season is our first chance to define what H&M Edition means for the colder months. We wanted to elevate these staple pieces, focusing on the exact cut and fit to make them essentials of the new male wardrobe,”  says Andreas Löwenstam

With the H&M Edition wardrobe, utilitarian looks are perfect for everyday of the week, like a down padded nylon hooded jacket in khaki, with functional pull gathers at the hem, and the protective padding of a black leather zip-up jacket. When the line is tailored, it’s also unstructured, like a rounded-shoulder grey wool cashmere coat, with a texture that gives it the right amount of shape. A wool mix plaid zip-up jacket is like a blanket from the countryside, bringing the outdoors to the urban environment.

The search for the exact cut of pant has led to H&M Edition’s 5-pocket denim jeans, this season in black, with a precise slim fit, as well as a pair of wool slacks for a more formal twist. Wool sweaters have compact texture, in either grey V-neck or faded Mohair/Alpaca check. Crewneck cashmere sweaters with a V-notch detail comes in black or soft purple, and a rounded lace-up shoe has a chunky rubber sole as a punctuation point to the H&M Edition look.

The H&M Foundation donates 200,000 USD to the Red Cross relief effort in Myanmar and Bangladesh

Stockholm, SWEDEN, 2017-Oct-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — More than 480,000 people have fled Rakhine State in Myanmar in the last weeks, arriving in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh in desperate conditions. The humanitarian crisis in Cox’s Bazar is one of the region’s largest man-made humanitarian crises in decades. Needs are also enormous within Rakhine State. To help saves lives and reduce suffering among those affected by the conflict, both in Myanmar and Bangladesh, the H&M Foundation is donating 200,000 USD to the Red Cross relief effort.

“Many have fled with nothing but the clothes they were wearing and are in need of everything: food, shelter, clean water and health care,” says Carola Tembe at the H&M Foundation. Therefore, it is important for us to support the work of the Red Cross for those affected by the conflict.”

Since August 25, 2017, violence has escalated in the state of Rakhine in Myanmar. Even before the most recent escalation, humanitarian needs were great both in Rakhine and in the refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar, where refugees from Rakhine have sought shelter for decades. The Myanmar Red Cross and Bangladesh Red Crescent, together with the International Red Cross movement have been on the ground in both areas for many years, providing lifesaving assistance.

As the informal settlements and camps swell with the heavy influx of new arrivals, access to shelter, water, sanitation, food and health services are urgent priorities. The Red Cross has mobile healthcare teams reaching hundreds of people every day. A Red Cross field hospital has also just been put in place to serve those fleeing.

“This donation comes at a time when the needs are huge and support is crucial. We are grateful for the H&M Foundation’s commitment to helping make our work possible.”

Michaela Friberg Storey, Head of International Operations at the Swedish Red Cross

There is also a lack of toilets and clean water, leading to an increased risk of outbreaks of communicable diseases. The Red Cross is building latrines and purifying water for the refugees and a team of water and sanitation experts from the Swedish Red Cross are on the ground to provide support.

“This donation comes at a time when the needs are huge and support is crucial. We are grateful for the H&M Foundation’s commitment to helping make our work possible,” says Michaela Friberg Storey, Head of International Operations at the Swedish Red Cross.

IKEA to recycle used mattresses as part of its sustainability strategy

Conshohocken, PA, 2017-Oct-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — IKEA U.S. announced today that in keeping with its sustainability strategy of ‘waste to resources’ it will be recycling all of its used mattresses. This includes old mattresses (any brand) that are picked up when new IKEA mattresses are delivered*, as well as all returned mattresses at IKEA stores. The goal is zero waste to landfill, with as much recycling as possible.

An estimated 18 million mattresses with box springs are disposed in the U.S. each year, resulting in approximately 50,000 mattresses a day ending up in landfills across America. Some of these mattresses are illegally dumped adding to great landfill waste. IKEA understands mattresses need to be recycled to conserve resources such as steel, foam, and wood that is able to be used in new products.

“In keeping with our People and Planet Positive Sustainability strategy, IKEA has decided to take a lead in turning waste into resources. We are committed to securing recycled materials while ensuring key parts of our range are easily recycled – all contributing to a closed loop society, stated Lisa Davis, IKEA U.S. Sustainability Manager.

At a minimum, 80% of a mattress can be recycled. The fabric and foam can be turned into carpet underlay and the felt and cotton can be recycled into new felt and insulation. The wood gets recycled into biofuel or other recycled wood products. While the plastic and steel is recycled by their respective recyclers or turned into new products.

In addition to the sustainability aspect of recycling mattresses, IKEA has also created a community donation program – a campaign called 5,000 Dreams – that focuses on supporting newly arrived refugee families in local IKEA store communities. Through three partner refugee organizations, IKEA has started to donate beds and bedding – 5,000 in total in the next two years – to refugee families who are making fresh starts with their families. The three established refugee organizations are the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, the International Rescue Committee and the Ethiopian Community Development Council.

*This service is offered for a fee (approximately $25 except in CA where the service is required to be offered for free by the state due to the state regulation), and is offered in all stores. There are times throughout the year when this service is offered for free if you are an IKEA Family member. Mattress removal service is not offered via ecommerce.
