LIVERPOOL, UK, 2018-Feb-22 — /EPR Retail News/ — B&M Stores continued its expansion today (21 February 2018) as a new store was officially opened in Bishop’s Stortford.

The addition to B&M’s portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating more than 40 jobs for people from the area.

Visitors to the store, located on South Street, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.

As part of the opening celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, Cancer Research UK, to be their VIP for the day. Local Deputy Mayor, Cllr George Cutting, was also in attendance.

The team volunteer in the local shop on Potter Street to raise money for the charity through selling pre-loved bargains to the local community. The charity relies on fundraising to carry out research into cancer and help beat the disease sooner. Last year the charity’s shops across the UK raised £80 million – this wouldn’t have been possible without their amazing volunteers.

The foundation were handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store as a thank you for their hard work in the community.

The store manager, Hamza Khan, said: “The team from Cancer Research UK really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

As part of the opening celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, Kidney Kids Scotland, to be their VIP for the day. Local Deputy Provost, Cllr Ann Ritchie, was also in attendance.

The charity supports children with renal/urology illness, as well as their families, to enable them to receive treatment as close to home as possible and minimize disruption to their family unit. They also support and complements the amazing work of hospitals all over Scotland by supplying them with much needed equipment and funding.

They were handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store as a thank you for their hard work in the community.

The addition to B&M’s portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating 60 jobs for people from the area.

Visitors to the store will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.

As part of the opening celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, Little Miracles, to be their VIP for the day. Local Mayor, Cllr John Fox and his wife, Judy, were also in attendance.

The team supports families that have children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions. The charity is based at The Spinney, Hartwell Way, it’s a place where these children can play, laugh and create friendships, whilst the families are able to access advice, support and care.

The addition to B&M’s portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating 50 jobs for people from the area, taking their total to over 100 in North Yorkshire.

Visitors to the store, located on Pheasant Field Lane, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.

As part of the opening celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, to be their VIP for the day. Local Mayor, Cllr Karen King, was also in attendance.

The charity sets out to protect, manage and enhance the natural environment of Tees Valley. They also promote their programme of education and training, which includes education work with pupils in classroom activities in creating wildlife and growing areas in school grounds, and in supporting school visits to nature reserves and their Margrove Heritage Centre.

The new store opening comes as a huge boost to the local economy, with the store increasing the number of employees by 60 having previously employed just 23 people at its former location at Maesglas Retail Park .

The nurses on the specialist unit care for Gwent’s most sick babies, from those born at the very edges of survivable prematurity, around 23 weeks, to those born at full term who require specialist intervention.

B&M opens new store in Llanelli, South Wales

Liverpool, United Kingdom, 2017-Nov-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — B&M increased its presence in South Wales with opening of a new store in Llanelli.

The B&M Home Store with Garden Centre is located at the new Cross Hands Business Park, opening its doors to the public on Saturday with the help of some very special guests.

Chairman of Carmarthenshire, Councillor Irfon Jones and his wife Jean Jones were on hand to cut the ribbon to officially declare the store open.

And store staff nominated a local charity to join in the opening day fun. Representatives from Wales Air Ambulance attended the store opening and raised money throughout the day as B&M’s VIP guests. They also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part.

After a busy but successful opening, B&M Crosshands store manager said: ““We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and feedback from customers has been great so far.”

The latest addition to B&M’s portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating 45 jobs for people from the area.

As part of the opening day celebrations, B&M colleagues invited local charity, Daventry Volunteers Centre, to be their VIP for the day, while local Mayor Councillor Lynne Taylor, was also in attendance.

The charity has been the heart of volunteering in Daventry for the last 25 years. The charity runs a wellbeing centre in central Ipswich where they provide emotional support to women and their children experiencing domestic abuse in their personal or family relationships.

The team at the centre provides a one-stop shop of advice and information for women and children, while also presenting an opportunity for all women and children across the county to develop new skills and come together within a safe and caring environment.

B&M relaunches its Coleraine store following internal and external refurbishment

The store, based on Riverside Retail Park, has been undergoing internal and external refurbishment after feedback from regular customers, who had appealed for an even larger store.

After closing on Sunday 9th April, the store was opened for business again today – allowing loyal customers a fresh, and much bigger, shopping experience.

The sales floor has increased by 55% and also now boasts paint & a wide selection of DIY products, alongside the branded and own label pet, toys and food items on sale usually.

As part of the opening day celebrations, representatives from the Coleraine branch of the Samaritans were invited to attend and cut the ribbon as B&M’s Local Hero, given to an organisation which has made an important contribution to their local community.

The Samaritans offer a safe place for you to talk any time you like, in your own way – about whatever’s getting to you.

The representatives also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part in the opening day event.

All 72 staff currently employed in the store have returned, with the addition of 30 colleagues as a result of the increased store space.

New 70 jobs created for the new & improved B&M Hartlepool store

Hartlepool, United Kingdom, 2017-Apr-08 — /EPR Retail News/ — B&M finally cut the ribbon on the new and improved Hartlepool store on Thursday, providing shoppers a bigger and better experience.

The new Homestore has relocated to Teesbay Retail Park, taking over a former B&Q, allowing visitors to the store easy access to the bargains on offer.

A total of 70 jobs have been created for local people – including 11 colleagues who joined the team from the previous B&Q as well as staff from the Hartlepool Marina store.

Customers will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label products, including food& drink, toys, homewares and electricals.

They’ll also have access to a large furniture and pet selection, to ensure everyone’s tastes are catered for.

As part of B&M’s Local Hero initiative, representatives from Hartlepool Families First took centre stage on opening day.

The team aim to ensure that all residents in Hartlepool and its surrounding area, regardless of age or ability, enjoy a healthy and fulsome life and achieve to the very best of their capabilities.

One of their objectives is to relieve and educate local children, particularly those with additional and special needs – they do this through providing social, physical and emotional support activities, as well as giving the children stimulating toys and equipment through their Toy Library.

Alongside opening the store, the charity also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part.

Also in attendance on opening day was the Mayor of Hartlepool, Councillor Rob Cook, who helped cut the ribbon.
