LCP announces new tenants at Enterprise City in Spennymoor

LONDON, 2017-Sep-14 — /EPR Retail News/ — Efforts to attract new tenants to business estate near Durham are paying off, with six units having been let since January to growing local companies, leading national property, investment and management company LCP has announced.

Enterprise City in Spennymoor, which is part of Durhamgate, the largest mixed-use regeneration scheme in the North East, has seen six tenants, including South Durham Fitness, Wolf Thai Boxing and Park Electrical Distributors, move in since the beginning of the year.

Between them, they have taken on 15,335 sq ft of commercial space, said Andrew Preston, industrial portfolio manager of LCP, which owns and manages the estate.

“Thanks to a campaign to broaden the appeal of Enterprise City, we’ve had a very solid 2017 so far, attracting different sectors to the estate,” he said.

“We’re also finalising details of a further tenant that will be signing a lease for a unit, while an existing tenant is taking on additional space.

“Enterprise City offers a wide range of good quality business space on a secure site and its location means it is very convenient for the major road networks.”

Enterprise City comprises 59 units, totalling 305,297 sq ft. It is approximately two miles west of the A1(M) and six miles south of Durham city. Newcastle-upon-Tyne is approximately 25 miles to the North and Darlington 11 miles to the south.

LCP: Wolf Thai Boxing opens new training gym at Enterprise City

LCP: Wolf Thai Boxing opens new training gym at Enterprise City

London, 2017-Jul-20 — /EPR Retail News/ — A well-known Spennymoor Thai boxing expert has opened a new training gym at Enterprise City, near Durham.

Michael Ellison, who runs Wolf Thai Boxing, has moved from the town centre to unit 34 at the business park, in Spennymoor, which is owned and managed by commercial property and investment company LCP.

Michael has trained a junior world champion and teaches learners from the age of four upwards in the combat sport. He signed a six-year lease for the 1,430 sq ft unit after 11 years at his previous town centre base when he was faced with a steep rise in rents and business rates.

“It was a big decision to move but it was something I had to do,” he said. “I had a look around plenty of places but liked this unit best. It is slightly bigger and has a much better layout; it’s also close to town and has plenty of parking spaces. I’m thrilled with it and know it will be a great place to train.”

It is the second health and fitness outlet to open at Enterprise City. In April, South Durham Fitness Limited opened in unit 3.

Tony Spence, LCP regional estate manager, said: “We’re keen to broaden our tenant mix at Enterprise City and are very pleased to welcome Wolf Thai Boxing. By moving to Enterprise City, he is not only getting excellent value for money, he also has a more modern unit that provides better space for his training.”

Enterprise City is a secure and popular business location offering 300,000 sq ft of industrial, warehouse and office accommodation for more than 30 tenants, including Durham Police and Just Sport (Group) Ltd. The estate benefits from 24hr CCTV estate security, free car parking and an on-site management team.  The site is adjacent DURHAMGATE, which is the largest mixed-use regeneration scheme in the North East.

The Gourmet Group moves headquarters to Enterprise City at DurhamGate development owned and managed by LCP

London, 2017-Jan-05 — /EPR Retail News/ — A gourmet food importer and exporter has unveiled tasty expansion plans after opening new headquarters in Durham.

The Gourmet Group, which imports food from Spain, Italy and France, has moved from two small offices in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Manchester to two units – 3,149 sq ft and 1,500 sq ft – at Enterprise City, Spennymoor, part of the DurhamGate development.

The new head office will also act as the company’s main distribution point, enabling it to undertake its own logistics and warehousing programmes.

The units, which are owned and managed by London and Cambridge Properties (LCP), include a new office and the company, which also exports British foods and drinks –  particularly craft beers, ciders and gins – to France, Italy and Spain, has also built cold-rooms to store correctly the products.

John Targas, who owns the Gourmet Group (www.groupgourmet.co.uk) , the trading arm of the business, and sister company Gourmet Options, which distributes new food products to the catering industry, said: “This is a big step up for us, especially for the Gourmet Options brand, which we are now looking to expand further with new imported brands and also ranges that we can create ourselves for the restaurant and hotel sectors.

“Our products are distributed mainly to companies based in the north of England and the south of Scotland, so having our base at Spennymoor is a good location for us because it is just a couple of minutes from the A1.”

The move has also enabled the company to double its workforce from three to six.

Tony Spence, LCP regional estate manager, said: “We worked closely with the Gourmet Group when it started to look for new premises to ensure we could accommodate its needs and we’re pleased that it is now able to expand and take on new staff.”

Enterprise City is the largest mixed-use regeneration scheme in the North East of England. It is a 300,000 sq ft secure and popular business location offering a mix of industrial, warehouse and office accommodation for a wide range of businesses.

The estate benefits from 24hr CCTV estate security, free car parking and an onsite management team.
