The Hershey’s Gold Doughnut is a delicious pairing of Krispy Kreme’s iconic Original Glazed Doughnut, topped with pieces of the new Hershey’s Gold bar and a salted caramel icing. This salty sweet doughnut flavor will surprise taste buds with every bite.

The recently introduced Hershey’s Gold bar – only the fourth bar flavor in the brand’s 117-year history – has a caramelized creme base, including salty peanuts and pretzel bits to give consumers a sweet, buttery smooth taste, topped off with a crunchy finish.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., 2018-Jan-29 — /EPR Retail News/ — America dreamed, debated and, now … has decided. After casting nearly two million votes online over a week, America selected lemon as Krispy Kreme Doughnuts®’ next, all-new Glazed Doughnut flavor.

Krispy Kreme’s innovation team will craft and perfect the Lemon Glazed Doughnut flavor, which will be made available this spring for a full week at participating Krispy Kremeshops.

The #VoteForGlaze campaign was the first time Krispy Kreme let America decide an all-new Glazed Doughnut flavor for the brand’s iconic Original Glazed® Doughnut. Fans selected from four flavors – blueberry, caramel, lemon and maple – January 16 through 22 at www.voteforglaze.com.

Lemon was America’s top choice, garnering 36 percent of the vote. Caramel received 26 percent of the vote, blueberry received 20 percent followed by maple, which received 18 percent.

“Lemon won the vote, but we can’t glaze over the fact that the other three flavors all received a lot of support, even beyond the votes. Our fans’ passion for these flavors – and others – came through loud and clear on social media. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., 2017-Apr-06 — /EPR Retail News/ — Krispy Kreme Doughnuts today ( April 5, 2017 ) announced the beginning of the 9th annual Drive for 45 campaign. The campaign will raise money for Victory Junction, a non-profit organization that provides children with chronic medical conditions with a classic summer camp experience in a medically-safe environment. Guests can donate at any participating shops in the U.S. through May 19.

Victory Junction is located on 84 acres of land in Randleman, N.C. The camp serves children from across the country between the ages of six and 16.

“Victory Junction is changing lives for hundreds of children each summer,” said Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “Everyone should be able to make friends and memories at summer camp, and we are grateful to be partners with an organization that gives this opportunity to so many.”

Kyle Petty led efforts to build Victory Junction in honor of his son Adam, who died in a racing accident in 2000. Adam’s racecar number was 45, and that’s why the Drive for 45 is 45 days long.

“Since 2009, Krispy Kreme has sent more than 1,300 kids to Victory Junction,” said Petty. “We are grateful for their passion for our mission and their continued generosity, which helps to provide normal childhood experiences to even more kids who wouldn’t be able to attend camp anywhere else due to their medical conditions.”

Any swashbuckling guest who talks like a pirate will receive one free Original Glazed doughnut, while fans who dress like a pirate will receive one dozen Original Glazed doughnuts.

For the first time this year, guests can also use a custom Krispy Kreme Snapchat pirate filter to digitally ‘dress’ like a pirate. Any guest who shows his or her Snapchat image to a team member at a participating Krispy Kreme shop will qualify for a dozen Original Glazeddoughnuts.

“Talk Like a Pirate Day has become one of our guests favorite days of the year, and this year they will have the opportunity to take part in this day socially using our Snapchat filter,” said Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “As this day is all about fun, we see it as a natural extension of our offers to get free Original Glazed doughnuts.”

The Snapchat campaign will be the first time Krispy Kreme has launched a national campaign on the social media outlet. Krispy Kreme’s Talk Like a Pirate Day was created following a social trend in 2012, and the Snapchat campaign is an organic way to honor the social beginnings of the occasion day.

Two Pirate Doughnuts are also available ahead of Talk Like a Pirate Day. The Pirate Doughnut is a filled doughnut decorated with a pirate face, while the Skull and Crossbones Doughnut is topped with chocolate icing and finished with white icing and a skull candy piece.

Qualifying pirate costumes must include three pirate items, such as an eye patch or bandana. No purchase is necessary to take part in Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to open 10 shops in Costa Rica in the next five years

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., 2016-Aug-06 — /EPR Retail News/ — Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc., today announced a development agreement with Inversiones DBA-KKD de Costa Rica, SRL (“Inversiones”) to open 10 Krispy Kreme shops in Costa Rica in the next five years.

“Costa Rica’s rapid market growth and consumer demand for sweet treats makes this the perfect time for Krispy Kreme to expand in the country,” said Dan Beem, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts’ Senior Vice President and President – International. “Our partners have a successful history and we are thrilled to partner with them to bring the iconic Krispy Kreme experience to the country.”

The principal owner of Inversiones is Desarollo de Negocios Internationales, SRL, of which Miguel Hernandez is the managing director. Inversiones is also partially owned by 2.5 Investments, LLC.

Hernandez said Costa Ricans will find Krispy Kreme shops to be their new favorite spot for something sweet and a premium cup of coffee.

“We are happy to bring the joy of Krispy Kreme to Costa Rica,” said Hernandez “Once people try our doughnuts, they will not believe how long they have lived without having a freshly made Original Glazed® doughnut.”
