Alimentos Corporativos Coralsa joined the Wendy’s® system in 2015 and currently operates a total of 13 restaurants in Guatemala, employing more than 400 Wendy’s team members.

NEW YORK, 2017-Dec-12 — /EPR Retail News/ — The most prestigious award in high school athletics has named Soleil Gaylord, a Mountain Runner from Colorado, and Jackson Destine, a Wrestler from Florida, as National Winners of Wendy’s® High School Heisman® Scholarship. Chosen from high school seniors at more than 30,000 schools around the country, Soleil and Jackson will take home a $10,000 college scholarship.

“The outstanding commitment, perseverance and compassion Soleil and Jackson possess is remarkable,” said Todd Penegor, President and CEO of The Wendy’s Company. “We’re honored to welcome these two students into the Wendy’s family and are so proud of all their achievements.”

Surmounting any obstacle, she faces is a way of life for Soleil Gaylord. At 6’1″, her height presents challenges when it comes to running, but she has made “Tall Is Strong” her mantra. Soleil has won five state track and field titles, two state cross country titles, competed in the World Mountain Running Championships three times, became a World Champion snowshoe runner, and was named a Colorado Sportswoman of the year. She has also overcome selective mutism, and today she speaks out loud and clear in many capacities. Soleil is Student Body President, an Ambassador for American Trail Running, hosts her own radio show and regularly presents to her town government about a native species garden that she designed and maintains for the community.

Jackson Destine is proof that life’s circumstances do not define a person; grit and determination do. Despite a challenging upbringing, Jackson finds ways to pursue a bright future. When a lack of discretionary income threatened his ability to keep playing sports, Jackson started his own candy business to raise money for the athletic fees. He has set fifteen school records in three sports while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and working twenty hours a week to help his grandmother with bills. Jackson also composes original raps with a powerful message: All teens have choices, even if they are growing up in tough environments. He wrote his school’s official song and a song for Florida Governor Rick Scott’s Math Nation program, and he has performed both in front of the school board and local media.

Wendy’s and the Heisman Trophy Trust have honored more than 650,000 of the nation’s most esteemed student-athletes since the two partnered in 1994. Year after year, they celebrate those students who exemplify the common set of values they share, wherein going above and beyond is the norm. Wendy’s Heisman aims to profile the stories of these outstanding students as a way to inspire the tomorrow’s senior class. Overall, one hundred students will receive a total of $150,000 in scholarships, with National Finalist each receiving $5,000 and the National Winners receiving $10,000.

Say bye-bye to sitting in traffic and hello to more free time because there’s no need to leave home when your favorite food is delivered right to you.

Wendy’s is partnering exclusively* with DoorDash, the technology company that connects customers with the best local businesses through door-to-door delivery. With delivery from Wendy’s serving 48 major markets nationwide and growing, Wendy’s lovers can get their fix just about anywhere, anytime.

Wendy’s Chief People Officer Scott Weisberg to leave the Company; Coley O’Brien to succeed

Scott Weisberg Expected to be Succeeded by Coley O’Brien After Effective Transition of Duties

DUBLIN, Ohio, 2017-Oct-11 — /EPR Retail News/ — The Wendy’s Company (NASDAQ: WEN) announced today (Oct. 6, 2017) that Chief People Officer Scott Weisberg intends to leave the Company once he completes an effective transition process over the next several months. After a successful tenure with Wendy’s® that started in 2012, Weisberg is expected to transition his responsibilities in the first quarter of 2018 to Coley O’Brien, currently Vice President of Human Resources. Subject to final Board approval, O’Brien is expected to succeed Weisberg in the Chief People Officer role and join the senior leadership team reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer Todd Penegor. O’Brien joined the Company in 2007 as National Director of Operations Training, and has been successively promoted through Operations and Human Resources leadership roles over the past 10 years.

“Scott Weisberg has been an architect of the growth and success of our organization over the last five years,” said Penegor. “He was one of the first people hired by former CEO Emil Brolick as the Company embarked on the brand transformation that has resulted in multiple years of same restaurant sales growth, a highly relevant consumer-facing brand, and an employee and franchise community that is stronger and more engaged than ever. We are grateful for Scott’s many contributions to that success, particularly the development of more sophisticated people capabilities and processes that have been critical to our growth.”

The Company expects that Weisberg will remain with the Company through March of 2018. Pending final Board approval, the Company expects that O’Brien will assume the Chief People Officer duties in early 2018, ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities through the year-end 2017 reporting period.

Year after year, Wendy’s continues to introduce craveable, seasonal summer salads, and now adds the sweet Strawberry Mango Chicken Salad to the list. While mango flavors have been a trending ingredient in beverages at fast food restaurants, Wendy’s goes a step further by including the juicy fruit as the topping to its new salad menu offering. A mango reaches peak ripeness during summer, making a healthy indulgence for customers and a delicious complement to Wendy’s freshly made salads.

Crisp heads of lettuce and ripe strawberries are hand-cut in-restaurant daily to create the Strawberry Mango Chicken Salad, ensuring a freshness you can taste. The sweet taste of mango and strawberry is paired with the tangy hint of crumbled feta cheese, and added crunch of sunflower seeds. The salad is topped with all-white meat grilled chicken breast and drizzled with a Marzetti® Simply Dressed® Honey Citrus Vinaigrette. The full-sized entree satisfies a full day’s worth of vegetables and one serving of fruit. It is 470 calories and $6.59, while the half-size salad is 280 calories and $4.59, respectively.

Like all of Wendy’s salads, the Fresh Mozzarella Chicken Salad begins with a signature blend of spring mix and full heads of iceberg and romaine lettuce that are hand chopped daily in restaurant. The salad is topped with warm, freshly-grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella cheese, juicy grape tomatoes and crunchy French bread croutons. It is then drizzled with a creamy basil pesto sauce and finished with Marzetti®Simply Dressed® Light Balsamic Vinaigrette. A three-week long road trip that celebrates NCAA fans’ dedication to going great lengths, the Wendy’s Drive to the Final Four road trip will honor commitment to going the extra mile for what you love, like always serving hamburgers made with fresh, never frozen beef1 or driving hundreds of miles to support your team.

Drive to the Final Four

Wendy’s brings new consumer experience to its new stores in Brazil with NCR technology

With capacity for over 140 people, Wendy’s is transforming the customer experience across its restaurants thanks to the technology provided by NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni–channel solutions.

Wendy’s has rolled out NCR Vitalcast digital signage solution at its restaurant entrances, enabling the brand to promote its menu and promotions in a new way. After ordering and paying at the point-of-sale (POS) terminal, guests are given a device enabled with geolocation capabilities that enables the staff to bring the order directly to the customer wherever the customer is seated.

“Our goal is to deliver quality products in the shortest time possible.
