Brussels, Belgium, 2016-Oct-06 — /EPR Retail News/ — For many years, residents of Brussels’ town centre wanted to be able to shop in a supermarket. The Saint-Honoré Carrefour Market is in the Marché aux Poulets pedestrianised area and features 800 m² of sales area over two floors. The ground floor has a large fresh produce market where the emphasis is very much on healthy fruit and vegetables (preference is given to products of Belgian origin), a high-quality butcher’s, fresh fish delivered straight from Carrefour’s depot in Zeebrugge and bread which is freshly baked all day long.
The store caters to current dietary trends: it has 300 healthy, organic products – all in one area – so customers can quickly find the items they want. To meet urban dwellers’ needs, the store also has a considerable assortment of meals, all featured together in the “easy break” section, as well as a wide selection of snacks. The special World cuisines section reflects Brussels’ cosmopolitan nature and features products from the US, the UK, Spain, Mexico, Italy and Asia.
Customers can access the second mezzanine floor by lift or stairs and enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Here, they’ll find perfumes, personal care items, beverages and dry foods.
An assortment for tourists as well
With its central location, the store will have no difficulty in attracting flocks of tourists who will find a fine selection of typical Belgian products – such as speciality beers, chocolate and Destrooper biscuits – all of which will be carefully showcased.
Very long opening hours
The store’s very long opening hours – 7 AM until 11 PM, 7 days a week – are one of its main draws, together with its location. The store’s opening will also create 40 new jobs.
