Fair Oaks, CA, 2016-Oct-18 — /EPR Retail News/ — Prairie Grove Farms, in partnership with Raley’s Family of Fine Stores, is proud to donate over $50,000 to The Farmer Veteran Coalition. A portion of every Prairie Grove Farms product purchased at Raley’s helps provide veterans of all eras and branches with viable employment and meaningful careers in farming and ranching. These opportunities offer returning veterans a sustainable place in their community, while also strengthening rural economics.
“We are honored to partner with Raley’s to support the work FVC is doing to cultivate a new generation of American farmers,” stated Bart Vitorri, General Manager, Prairie Grove Farms. “By consumers choosing to purchase Prairie Grove Farms products in the Raley’s stores, together we have been able to make a positive impact on the lives of veteran farmers.”
Funds will be used to support specific programs including the “Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund”, which provides small grants to veteran farmers for the tools needed to grow or maintain a sustainable farming future. Farmer Veteran Coalition’s “Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund” assists veterans beginning a career in food and farming, and aides with business expansion, ensuring a smooth military transition. The grantees are awarded not only monetary assistance, but also in-kind supplies, one-on-one farm advice and farming education, as well as mentorships.
“The mission of the Farmer Veteran Coalition is mobilizing veterans to feed America.
