OTTAWA, Canada, 2017-Jun-30 — /EPR Retail News/ — As the all-Canadian discount retailer of choice, Giant Tiger will be busy celebrating its roots and ringing in Canada’s biggest birthday yet in our special event space at Major’s Hill Park this weekend.
As a proud Canadian company, Giant Tiger is excited to be a sponsor of Canada Day in the capital to celebrate Canada’s 150! We will be located in Major’s Hill Park Friday, June 30th through Sunday, July 2nd and will be changing up our activation space with new and exciting activities each day to match the overall Canada 150 event programming.
From our comfy cozy GT lounge with samples, contests and an interactive mural artist on Friday night to the nation’s largest party on Saturday, July 1st to kid-spirational hip-hop lessons and a chance to meet and learn from Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli, whose message of inclusion and perseverance will be a huge draw for the WE day celebrations, Giant Tiger has something for everyone!

Friday, June 30th
4-7 pm: Live muralist will transform our space with a #GTCanadaProud mural
4-7 pm: Our DJ will spin Canadian classics
4-10 pm: Relax in our Giant Tiger Comfy Cozy Lounge featuring décor and seating from Giant Tiger
4-10 pm: Popcorn sampling throughout the evening
4-10 pm: Grab your friends and take a picture in our photo booth with themed props – don’t forget to hashtag #GTCanadaproud
Saturday, July 1st
9-6 pm: Children’s games
9-6 pm: Mr. Freeze slush sampling throughout the day

Sunday, July 2nd – WE DAY in the Capital
We will be teaming up with The Flava Factory, a dance studio in Ottawa dedicated to teaching and promoting inclusive urban dance styles. Their goal is to provide and promote a healthy and positive atmosphere for creative expression.
9:45 am, 10:30 am, 11:15 am, and 12:15 am: Popping and hip hop lessons to children
9-5 pm: Live DJ
1-1:45 pm Welcome speech and demonstration from Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli
Luca is a world renowned dancer from Montreal who suffers from arthrogryposis, his life motto is: “Adapt, stay positive, and learn to do things your own way.”
1:45-4:45 pm: 2 vs. 2 all ages dance battle
