Yoga is a Sanskrit word that means “joining” or “linking”. It is a way of doing that tries to make peace between the body, mind, and spirit, as well as with the whole knowing. Yoga started in old India, where it was seen as a way of life and a way to be free from pain.
Yoga has many parts, such as thinking, rules, mind, and spirit. However, the most usual and liked part of yoga is the body doing of shapes or poses, called asanas. Asanas are made to make health, bendiness, strength, balance, and knowing better. They are also made to get the body and mind ready for thinking, which is the best goal of yoga.
There are many kinds of yoga, each with its own things, good things, and hard things. Some of the most liked kinds of yoga are:
- Hatha Yoga: This is a normal word that means any kind of yoga that has body shapes. Hatha yoga is good for new people, as it shows the basic rules of straightness, breathing, and thinking.
- Vinyasa Yoga: This is a moving and smooth kind of yoga that matches breath and movement. Vinyasa yoga means going from one shape to another in a non-stop order, making heat and energy in the body.
- Ashtanga Yoga: This is a hard and strict kind of yoga that follows a set order of shapes, done in a certain order. Ashtanga yoga has six orders, each with a different level of hard and hard.
- Bikram Yoga: This is a hot and wet kind of yoga that is done in a room that is 40°C (104°F) and 40% wet. Bikram yoga has 26 shapes and two breath ways, done in the same order for 90 minutes.
- Yin Yoga: This is a slow and thinking kind of yoga that works on the deep joining parts, like the bands, cords, and cover. Yin yoga means staying in easy shapes for 3 to 5 minutes, letting the body relax and let go of tightness.
- Kundalini Yoga: This is a spirit and changing kind of yoga that tries to wake up the sleeping energy (kundalini) at the bottom of the back. Kundalini yoga mixes moving moves, breath ways, words, hand shapes, and thinking to make the wheels, or energy places, in the body work.
- Restorative Yoga: This is a soft and nice kind of yoga that uses things, like big pillows, covers, and blocks, to help the body in nice and relaxing shapes. Restorative yoga means staying in shapes for 10 to 20 minutes, letting the body and mind rest and heal.
Yoga is more than just a body doing, it is a way of living with more knowing, peace, and peace. By doing yoga often, one can feel the good things of yoga for the mind, body, and soul.
