LANCASTER, Pa., 2017-Aug-01 — /EPR Retail News/ — More than 1.3 million fan votes have been tallied and the winner has been declared: Sriracha is the Auntie Anne’s® Pretzel Nation Creation champion. The spicy new pretzel will be available in stores for a limited time only later this year.

“As Pretzel Nation Creation confirmed, Auntie Anne’s fans are intensely passionate about their pretzels,” said Carol Pasquariello, vice president of marketing for Auntie Anne’s. “We loved letting them choose our next flavor and can’t wait for the Sriracha Pretzel to join our menu for a limited time later this year.”

An initial request for flavors on social media last month generated more 1,200 fan suggestions. The ten most popular flavors comprised the Pretzel Nation Creation finalists, a mouthwatering mix of sweet and savory. Voting took place from July 21 – July 30 and Sriracha emerged as the overwhelming victor with nearly 200,000 votes more than second place S’mores. At the other end of the spectrum, Pink Lemonade finished last with just 3,578 votes. The final tally:

One hundred percent of proceeds from the pretzel ribbons will be donated to ALSF.

Since the onset of the brand’s relationship with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in 2011, the unique pretzel ribbons have made a difference: together, Auntie Anne’s and ALSF have raised more than $3.1 million to help fund life-saving research, resulting in more than 62,000 cancer research hours. Funds have been raised through in-store fundraising campaigns, coin canisters, local events, and the annual Auntie Anne’s C.A.R.E.S. Charity Golf Tournament. These donations have funded more than 60,000 hours of cancer research.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the ribbons were donated to ALSF. As a token of appreciation to guests who helped “give hope” via the ribbon campaign, Auntie Anne’s provided a $1 off coupon for their next purchase of any pretzel product or drink.

An additional $35,000 was raised for ALSF during the 21st Annual Auntie Anne’s C.A.R.E.S. Charity Golf Tournament on July 21. The tournament featured more than 200 golfers and raised a total of $140,000 for four deserving organizations. Each organization, including ALSF, received $35,000. Since 1996, the tournament has raised more than $1.8 million for charitable organizations.

Auntie Anne’s® takes over from independent franchisee and reinstating all employees of Dickson, Tennessee, Store

LANCASTER, Pa., 2016-Aug-16 — /EPR Retail News/ — Auntie Anne’s ®, the world’s largest hand-rolled soft pretzel franchise, today announced plans to take ownership of, and operate, the Dickson, Tennessee, Auntie Anne’s location, effective Friday, August 12.

Earlier this week, an employee at the franchise location in Dickson made an accusation of discrimination against a potential franchisee of that location, which was scheduled to be transferred from the current owner on August 10. That potential franchisee will no longer be purchasing the store. Under corporate ownership, Auntie Anne’s intends to offer employment to all of the store’s former employees, including Kami Watkins Tucker and Keri Watkins, subject to normal hiring practices.

“Auntie Anne’s is deeply committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace,” said Heather Neary, president of Auntie Anne’s. “We have a long, proud history of supporting everyone, without exception, in the communities in which we operate. It is vital that all of our franchisees and associates uphold our brand standards and values.”

The store, located inside of the Walmart at 175 Beasley Drive in Dickson, is scheduled to reopen this Friday at 10:00 a.m. CT.  Ms. Neary will be on hand at the location to welcome back Kami Watkins Tucker, Keri Watkins, and the entire store crew. Guests are invited to stop by this store from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to enjoy one free Original or Cinnamon Sugar pretzel.

LANCASTER, Pa., 2015-8-4— /EPR Retail News/ — Auntie Anne’s is continuing the fight to end childhood cancer by teaming up with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation with a goal of raising over a half a million dollars this summer to help fund childhood cancer research.

Beginning today, Monday, August 3, through Sunday, September 27, Auntie Anne’s will be asking guests who visit their local store to “give hope” by purchasing a paper pretzel ribbon icon for $1 in the fight to end childhood cancer. As a token of appreciation, Auntie Anne’s will provide a $1 off coupon for the next purchase of any pretzel product or drink. One hundred percent of the proceeds collected through the in-store campaign will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

“We are honored to continue our partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and support their mission of raising awareness to help fund childhood cancer research. These accessories are a symbol of the hope that is being given to those who are in the battle of childhood cancer and their strength in the constant fight.

Since their partnership began in September 2011, Auntie Anne’s has helped Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation raise nearly $2 million dollars, through in-store fundraising campaigns, coin canisters, local pretzel rolling contests, and Auntie Anne’s C.A.R.E.S. Charity Golf Tournament. To date, the soft pretzel company has helped fund the equivalent of 37,000 hours of cancer research.

LANCASTER, Pa., 2015-5-22 — /EPR Retail News/ — Auntie Anne’s, the world’s largest hand-rolled soft pretzel franchise, announced today the arrival of a new, limited-time only menu item to join its wide array of freshly-baked pretzel products. Available nationwide beginning May 18, Cheddar Stuffed Pretzel Nuggets offer the freshly baked taste of everyone’s favorite soft pretzel, filled with melted cheddar cheese in a convenient bite-size nugget.

The new Cheddar Stuffed Pretzel Nuggets are a limited-time menu offering through December 2015 and like all Auntie Anne’s pretzels, are freshly baked all day long. The average price point of the new product will be $4.99 and will allow guests to satisfy cravings any time of the day while out shopping or traveling.

Auntie Anne’s will also bring back its Peach Lemonade Mixer and introduce the new Limeade and Cherry Limeade Mixers for a limited time.
