Chick-fil-A® introduces its newest seasonal menu item, Frosted Sunrise

Chick-fil-A® introduces its newest seasonal menu item, Frosted Sunrise

ATLANTA, 2018-Mar-08 — /EPR Retail News/ — Today (March 5, 2018) Chick-fil-A® introduces its newest seasonal menu item, Frosted Sunrise, which is available at restaurants nationwide through June 2. The creamy and tart treat is a combination of Chick-fil-A’s signature vanilla Icedream® and Simply Orange® Juice. The treat launches in all restaurants following a successful test in Jacksonville, Fla. last fall.

Frosted Sunrise follows Chick-fil-A’s first frosted beverage, Frosted Lemonade, which was added to the menu in 2015 and was so popular that Chick-fil-A added Frosted Coffee, made with cold-brewed iced specialty coffee and Icedream, to the menu in 2016. Last year’s seasonal menu item, Frosted Strawberry Lemonade, a hand-spun combination of Chick-fil-A’s fresh squeezed Lemonade (or Diet Lemonade), Icedream and strawberry purée, was on the menu for a limited time as a seasonal offering. Icedream, inspired by founder Truett Cathy’s original recipe, is a delicious, dairy treat with an old-fashioned vanilla taste.

“Spring is the perfect time of year to introduce a new seasonal Frosted beverage. Our seasonal Icedream offerings have become customer favorites over the last few years,” said Amanda Norris, senior director of menu development for Chick-fil-A. “Frosted Sunrise combines simple but flavorful ingredients into a tasty treat that customers can enjoy throughout the day.”

Frosted Sunrise is available in small (14-ounce) and large (20-ounce) servings with prices starting at $2.85. A small is 320 calories and a large is 390 calories – both sweet treats have fewer calories than a milkshake.

Chick-fil-A to open new restaurant in Midtown Manhattan on March 1

Chick-fil-A to open new restaurant in Midtown Manhattan on March 1

NEW YORK, 2018-Feb-14 — /EPR Retail News/ — Next month, the third locally-owned and operated Chick-fil-A restaurant will open in Midtown Manhattan. The restaurant, located across from Grand Central Station at the corner of East 42nd Street and Madison Avenue, will open on Thursday, March 1 and will employ more than 200 team members under the leadership of local franchise owner Ellie Kim. Kim will celebrate the opening by hosting Chick-fil-A’s signature First 100 campout in the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park.

Locally Owned and Operated

Kim is a first-generation Korean immigrant who moved to the city with her family at age 16. She graduated from New York University and Rutgers Law School, and later practiced as a law clerk in Manhattan for several years before owning a dry-cleaning business in the Theatre District. She spent the past 11 years in Washington, D.C., where she owned a Chick-fil-A franchise, and recently relocated back to NYC with her family to open Chick-fil-A Grand Central.

Quick, Easy and Efficient Service
Kim’s Midtown restaurant is expected to be one of the busiest Chick-fil-A locations in the country given its proximity to Grand Central Station, which serves more than 750,000 commuters each day. To meet demand, Chick-fil-A designed the restaurant to handle extreme volume. Utilizing the company’s proprietary “upstream ordering” technology, team members will take orders on tablets as soon as guests walk through the doors – ensuring a shorter queue time.

In addition to efficiency, the 6,263-square foot restaurant is also designed for comfort. More than 100 guests can dine on the second level with views of Grand Central Station and One Vanderbilt, a 1.7 million-square-foot skyscraper in development that, once completed, will bring thousands more people to the area each day.

This will be the company’s third location in Manhattan and will be followed by the opening of Chick-fil-A Fulton Street, a five-story restaurant with a rooftop terrace located next to Fulton Center Station in the Financial District.

The Chick-fil-A First 100 Celebration
Chick-fil-A Grand Central will officially open for business at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 1 following its signature First 100 campout and celebration, taking place for the first time in the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park. The First 100 celebration will transform the Winter Village into a 12-hour indoor campout where participants will be awarded a year’s worth of free Chick-fil-A (52 No. 1 meals total). To be eligible, participants must be 18 years or older, U.S. residents with a valid government-issued photo ID, and reside in eligible zip codes. Participants must arrive at Bryant Park to register no earlier than 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28. If more than 100 people are on-site when the campout officially begins at 6 p.m., a drawing will be held to select the First 100. Those chosen will be required to stay for the duration of the 12-hour campout until the Grand Central restaurant opens at 6:30 a.m. on March 1 in order to receive the prize.

Due to limited space and the indoor nature of the campout, tents are not permitted and personal items should be limited to one item such as a backpack or purse. Chairs and blankets will be provided to all campers.

This event is open to guests residing in specific zip codes surrounding the Grand Central restaurant, inclusive of all zip codes in the five boroughs of NYC. A complete listing of eligible zip codes, Official Rules and other important details can be found at www.chick-fil-a.com/Locations/Openings in the Grand Central section.

Chick-fil-A™ trials two new spicy entrees – Spicy Chick-n-Strips and a Grilled Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich

ATLANTA, 2017-Oct-18 — /EPR Retail News/ — In response to customers’ requests for more bold, spicy flavors, Chick-fil-A™ is testing two new spicy entrees – Spicy Chick-n-Strips and a Grilled Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich – in select markets for a limited time. Starting today (Oct. 16, 2017), customers can visit participating restaurants in Philadelphia, Central Texas and South Texas to try the new Spicy Chick-n-Strips. Customers in Orlando, Fla., St. Louis, and Knoxville, Tenn. will be among the first to taste the new Grilled Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich.

Research indicates that 48 percent of consumers are interested in trying chicken entrees with new or unique flavors, and preferences for spicy flavors are growing, particularly among millennials.1

“We’ve heard from our customers how much they love our current spicy menu offerings, so we’re really excited to give them even more spicy flavor options to enjoy,” said Kanika Patrick, manager of menu development at Chick-fil-A. “We hope our guests in the test cities will try the new Spicy Chick-n-Strips and Grilled Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich and let us know what they think – their feedback will help us determine whether or not we will roll out the new entrees nationwide in the future.”

The new Spicy Chick-n-Strips combine two customer favorites – the Spicy Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich and the original Chick-n-Strips – with a bold new entrée that’s packed with flavor. The strips are seasoned with a spicy blend of peppers, hand-breaded and cooked in 100 percent refined peanut oil.

The new Grilled Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich is perfect for guests who are looking for a lighter but spicy option. It features grilled chicken marinated in a spicy seasoning, and is served on a new, toasted multigrain brioche bun with Colby-Jack cheese, lettuce and tomato. It comes paired with a new Cilantro Lime Sauce.

The Spicy Chick-n-Strips are available in 3-count or 4-count entrees, and can also be ordered in catering trays. A 3-count order has 340 calories and 26 grams of protein, and starts at $3.85. The Grilled Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich has 390 calories and 33 grams of protein and starts at $4.75.

Chick-fil-A announces its first Downtown Los Angeles location; Ashley Derby selected as local franchise owner

LOS ANGELES, 2017-Aug-04 — /EPR Retail News/ — Chick-fil-A, Inc. confirmed today (AUG 1, 2017) that its first Downtown Los Angeles location is on the way. The 6,500 square-foot restaurant will be located at 660 South Figueroa Street and will occupy a two-story space on basement and street levels. Designed and built to fit into the vibrant environment of Downtown Los Angeles, the restaurant will feature dining room seating for 80 and a community table for large gatherings. Formally named Chick-fil-A at 7th & Figueroa, the restaurant will be open 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Los Angeles resident Ashley Derby was selected as the local franchise owner of the new Chick-fil-A restaurant and will employ approximately 80 full- and part-time team members. Derby currently is franchise owner of the Chick-fil-A restaurant at the University of Southern California and will be leaving her post there to oversee day-to-day activities of the new downtown location.

Locally Owned and Operated
No stranger to Chick-fil-A, Derby got her first job with the restaurant company when she was just 15 years old. She began working as a Team Member at a restaurant in her hometown of Atlanta, Ga., as a way to earn money to buy her first car and continued throughout her years attending Spelman College. More than a decade later, at age 26, Derby relocated to Los Angeles to become the franchise owner of the USC restaurant – making her one of the youngest franchise owners in Chick-fil-A history. While running the USC restaurant, Derby was awarded Chick-fil-A’s Champion’s Club award, an honor reserved for Operators whose businesses experience particularly high growth and success. Having called L.A. home for the last six years, Derby is excited to introduce Chick-fil-A to downtown L.A. with the opening of her new restaurant.

“The energy in downtown L.A. is palpable,” said Derby. “I cannot wait to become a part of this growing neighborhood, and I look forward to welcoming our guests with hand-crafted food and hospitality.”
At her USC restaurant, Derby’s passion has always been supporting her team and helping them grow as professionals. She looks forward to providing the same positive, nurturing workplace environment at Chick-fil-A 7th & Figueroa.

Team Member Investment
Chick-fil-A is known for hiring, developing and retaining young talent, offering a supportive workplace with opportunities for leadership development, promotions that lead to management roles, respect for work-life balance and competitive wages. To help its team members pay for college, the restaurant will offer the opportunity for college scholarships through Chick-fil-A’s enhanced national scholarship initiative, Remarkable Futures. Remarkable Futures more than doubles the company’s prior investment in team members’ college educations – providing $4.9 million in scholarships in 2017 alone. Students have the opportunity to receive up to $25,000 in scholarships to be applied at any accredited institution of their choice, including online and on-campus formats, and can be combined with tuition discounts and other benefits at more than 70 partner colleges and universities nationwide. As with all Chick-fil-A restaurants, team members are also guaranteed Sundays off.

Premium Ingredients and Fresh, Handmade Food
Nearly everything on the Chick-fil-A menu is made from scratch daily, including salads made from fresh vegetables and fruit that is hand-chopped throughout the day. “Our customers told us that they wanted an even more convenient way to share meals at home or on the go, so we worked directly with a group of parents to design every part of Family Style Meals – down to the cutlery caddy that features five unique conversation starter questions to help customers connect over mealtime,” said Matt Abercrombie, manager of menu development at Chick-fil-A. “Mealtime should be an enjoyable experience that brings family and friends together, not an extra stress in the day.”

The Family Style Meals also offers lower calorie options. For example, a meal with Grilled Chicken Breasts, Side Salad and Fruit Cup with two Mini Rolls has less than 300 calories per serving.

In addition to the Family Style Meals, Chick-fil-A is also testing the options of Bacon Baked Beans and Mac & Cheese as individual sides in these three cities. The Bacon Baked Beans are kettle-cooked with bacon and brown sugar for a sweet and savory taste. The Mac & Cheese side is a classic macaroni and cheese recipe featuring a special blend of cheeses including Cheddar, Parmesan and Romano.

The Family Style Meals and new sides will only be available in Greensboro, N.C., Phoenix and San Antonio restaurants during the limited-time test. Customer feedback will help determine if Family Style Meals and the two new individual sides will be added to menus nationwide.

Gluten-Free Bun now available at Chick-fil-A®

Gluten-Free Bun now available at Chick-fil-A®

ATLANTA, 2017-Jun-20 — /EPR Retail News/ — Chick-fil-A® announced today (June 19, 2017) the addition of a new Gluten-Free Bun. The addition comes in response to customers’ requests for more gluten-free/sensitive options on the menu. The new bun, which is now available in restaurants nationwide, comes individually packaged and can be ordered with any of Chick-fil-A’s sandwich offerings.

The Gluten-Free Bun is made with premium ingredients, including ancient grains quinoa and amaranth. It is enriched with vitamins and minerals and is lightly sweetened with molasses and raisins. The Gluten-Free Bun rolls out nationwide following successful tests in three cities across the country in 2016.

Data shows roughly 18 million Americans have a gluten sensitivity or preference. Chick-fil-A is one of the few quick-service restaurants to offer a gluten-free bun.

“We know our customers are looking for more gluten-sensitive alternatives. They asked, and we listened,” said Leslie Neslage, senior consultant of menu development at Chick-fil-A. “We heard positive feedback in test markets that the bun tastes better than some other gluten-free breads. That’s because instead of rice flower, we’ve made the bun with more premium ingredients like quinoa and amaranth. Our hope is that the Gluten-Free Bun addition opens up options for gluten-sensitive customers to enjoy more of our menu.”

In test markets, the Gluten-Free Bun was most commonly ordered with the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the Grilled Chicken Deluxe Sandwich.

The new bun has 150 calories and costs an additional $1.15.

While individually packaged and certified free of gluten, guests will be required to assemble their own sandwiches to reduce risk of cross-contamination. Chick-fil-A kitchens are not gluten-free.

For more information on the Gluten-Free Bun and other gluten-free options at Chick-fil-A, please visit www.chick-fil-a.com/glutenfree.

Chick-fil-A introduces backyard barbecue-inspired menu items available for a limited time

ATLANTA, 2017-May-16 — /EPR Retail News/ — Chick-fil-A is embracing the flavors of summertime with two new backyard barbecue-inspired menu items available for a limited time. From May 15 until August 19, customers can order a new Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich and Watermelon Mint Lemonade in restaurants nationwide.

The restaurant company’s first seasonal entrée, the Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich features Chick-fil-A’s signature grilled chicken along with new ingredients, including bacon coated in a brown sugar pepper blend. The sandwich is served on a new Hawaiian style bun with Colby-Jack cheese, green leaf lettuce and a zesty Smokehouse BBQ Sauce crafted specifically for the entrée.

“We know our customers love the flavors of our grilled menu, and we are excited to offer two items this season that will give them something new to try,” said David Farmer, Chick-fil-A vice president of menu strategy and development. Barbecue has wide appeal among Americans, with more than 95 percent of U.S. consumers saying that they like it and nearly one-third saying they eat barbecue or barbecue-sauced items in any given week.

“The new Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich is delicious and unlike anything we have on the menu. It was incredibly popular in test markets. I hope our customers are as excited as I am to get this kind of high quality sandwich at the drive-thru,” Farmer said. “We hope customers will enjoy the new ingredients and flavor combinations in our Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich and Watermelon Mint Lemonade all summer long.”

The Watermelon Mint Lemonade, which was made specifically to complement the flavors of the new Smokehouse BBQ sandwich, is a refreshing summertime hand-crafted beverage made with Chick-fil-A’s fresh-squeezed Lemonade (or Diet Lemonade) mixed with watermelon and mint flavors free from artificial colors or flavorings. A small starts at $1.85 and has 200 calories when made with regular Lemonade.

The Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich has 500 calories and starts at $5.59.

As seasonal menu items, both the Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich and Watermelon Mint Lemonade will be available nationwide beginning May 15 through August 19, 2017.

Chick-fil-A and Feeding Children Everywhere meal-packing event packed a record-breaking one million meals for children in need

Chick-fil-A and Feeding Children Everywhere meal-packing event packed a record-breaking one million meals for children in need

ATLANTA, 2017-Feb-17 — /EPR Retail News/ — More than 5,000 Chick-fil-A® restaurant franchise owners, home office employees and their spouses packed a record-breaking one million meals for food-insecure children while gathered at the company’s annual conference in Dallas on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Chick-fil-A partnered with Feeding Children Everywhere –a national non-profit organization that provides tens of millions of healthy meals for hungry children across the globe to pack the meals, which will be distributed to families with limited or uncertain access to adequate food living in 13 states around the country.

The meal-packing event was part of the non-profit’s Hunger Projects initiative – a high-energy, practical way for organizations and groups to make a tangible difference in the fight against global hunger.

Each meal contains balanced portions of lentils, rice, dehydrated vegetables and pink Himalayan salt, intended to serve as a sustainable addition to a child’s daily diet. The meals will be distributed over the next week to communities in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas.

“When Truett Cathy founded Chick-fil-A, it was to do more than just sell chicken – he also wanted to have a positive impact in the local community,” said Rodney Bullard, vice president of community affairs for Chick-fil-A and executive director of the Chick-fil-A Foundation. “Now that we’ve expanded to thousands of local communities, our local franchise owners find meaningful ways to give back to communities throughout the year, and this is one more way we can make a collective difference. We thank the more than 5,000 franchise owners, home office employees and their spouses who came together for this exciting, impactful event.”

Chick-fil-A restaurant franchisees and home office employees have packed nearly four million meals since the company first teamed up with Feeding Children Everywhere in 2014.

In addition to providing meals to those in need, Chick-fil-A is also committed to supporting the Team Members who work in the restaurants. As part of the company’s commitment to giving back, this year Chick-fil-A also more than doubled its investment in Team Members’ college educations, providing $4.9 million in scholarships in 2017 alone. Since Chick-fil-A began awarding scholarships to Team Members in 1973, the company has awarded nearly $36 million to 36,000 Team Members.

Chick-fil-A® unveils a complete relaunch of its flagship website, chick-fil-a.com

ATLANTA, Ga., 2016-Nov-20 — /EPR Retail News/ — Today (Nov. 17, 2016), Chick-fil-A® unveiled a complete relaunch of its flagship website, chick-fil-a.com. The new site will serve as the company’s storytelling and information hub. Leading the quick service restaurant industry in designing an experience informed by consumer research, the site puts customer preferences and interests front and center by providing customized content and localized information to each, individual user.

The site begins with a “multi-scroll” homepage that allows readers to choose their own path through the site. Users can then select their favorite Chick-fil-A restaurant from the homepage, making menu pricing appear as well as offerings specific to their favorite location. Easy-to-find nutrition and allergen information supports the company’s food transparency commitment to customers, and visually rich ingredient displays lead to food stories and recipes customers can make using those same ingredients at home. Unique enhancements include an embedded publication, quotes from Chick-fil-A Founder, S. Truett Cathy, and “Easter egg” surprise appearances from the iconic “Eat Mor Chikin”™ Cows.

“From the beginning our team envisioned the new website as a digital extension of our restaurants where food and customer service are at the forefront of the experience. That’s why the menu reflects what’s being served in restaurants at the time of day the user hits the site, as well the incorporation of rich textures and red accents recognizable from the architecture and design of our heritage locations,” says Ashley Callahan, digital communications and content strategy manager at  Chick-fil-A. “Our goal is to share stories and create meaningful moments with existing and potential customers.”

An industry first, the new site is home to embedded publication The Chicken Wire, a digital magazine dedicated to sharing good-news, with multi-media stories focused on food, hospitality and community. From brand stories that offer a peek behind the curtain of the family-owned company to unbranded pieces, the publication creatively balances feature articles with videos, gifs, polls, infographics and more. “Our restaurants are often the setting for serendipitous moments where acts of human kindness inspire conversation. So, while we use the site to give guests the information they need about our menu, ingredients and restaurants, we also want to offer them something a little unexpected, like access to acclaimed chefs, seasonal recipes they can make at home, and stories that inspire, like the documentary-style film of a high school student who bonds with a dementia patient through their love of art,” says Callahan.

Like Chick-fil-A restaurants, the site will, in a way, close on Sundays. Truett Cathy made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946 when he opened his first restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia. After working seven days a week in restaurants open 24 hours, Truett saw the importance of closing on Sundays so that he and his employees could set aside one day to rest and tend to ideals he deemed more important than business–a practice the company upholds today.

“We found that while our online traffic dips on Sundays, the people who come to spend time with us on Sunday stay longer than those who visit during the hours we’re open,” says Callahan. “Sunday stories are developed through the lens of ‘providing a service,’ meaning the pieces serve the reader’s time well by making them laugh at new Sunday comic, Chicken Strips, inspire them to create a meal at home with friends and family or dive into a long-format feature.”

Future enhancements are already in the works. Designers are using consumer research to launch a best-in-class meal nutrition calculator before the year’s end, and will plant a few more “Easter eggs” – surprise appearances throughout the site by the cows. An integrated e-commerce experience is planned for 2017 and already the project team is experimenting with localized content within certain markets at launch.

“This site is a hub for all things Chick-fil-A, and we’re not done,” says Kelsey Moore, Chick-fil-A customer-facing technology project lead. Adding that user behavior on the site will help determine future updates, like tailoring content to be geographically relevant and appealing to customer preferences, as well as enhancing ordering opportunities for customers, “The site is a sophisticated platform that is both responsive and adaptive to create a premiere mobile experience, much like the new Chick-fil-A One app,” Moore says.

Chick-fil-A announces recipients of 2017 True Inspiration Awards

Chick-fil-A One app users help select True Inspiration Award winners

ATLANTA, 2016-Nov-12 — /EPR Retail News/ — Chick-fil-A customers nationwide helped select the recipients of more than $1.1 million in grants, thanks to the new Chick-fil-A One app. The 2017 True Inspiration Awards – announced today by the Chick-fil-A Foundation – honor and provide financial support to 22 not-for-profits in 16 states to help further their work with youth, fostering leadership skills and developing an entrepreneurial spirit.

For the first time since the awards program began in 2014, Chick-fil-A utilized its new mobile app to allow customers to vote for organizations in their local communities. More than 76,000 customers nationwide voted, helping select 12 of the winning organizations nationwide, from Boy’s Republic in Chino Hills, California to Lexington Leadership Foundation in Lexington, Kentucky.

This is the third year the Chick-fil-A Foundation has granted the True Inspiration Awards, which were created to honor the legacy of Chick-fil-A’s late founder, S. Truett Cathy. Organizations can either apply for the grants, ranging from $15,000 to $100,000, or receive a nomination from a local Chick-fil-A restaurant franchisee. More than 150 organizations applied for grants this year.

“These organizations are doing remarkable work in education, leadership development and youth entrepreneurship, so we are thrilled to be able to help support their goals for 2017,” said Rodney Bullard, vice president of community affairs for Chick-fil-A and executive director of the Chick-fil-A Foundation. He added, “The Chick-fil-A Foundation’s mission is to ‘enable children to be all they were created to be,’ and these organizations have helped make that mission a reality. Chick-fil-A and The Chick-fil-A Foundation are committed to strengthening the communities in which we live.”

Before opening voting to customers, the Chick-fil-A Foundation reviewed the applications and selected a list of finalists that demonstrate a commitment to supporting youth and education. The 22 award winners will be honored at a celebratory event in Atlanta next year, and funding will be available to them before the end of 2016.

“Mobile technology is changing corporate giving, allowing us to literally put the decision in the hands of our local customers who are impacted by these incredible organizations,” said Michael Lage, senior manager of Chick-fil-A’s digital experience.

Chick-fil-A® offers team members up to $25,000 in scholarships, discounts and educational benefits in colleges and universities nationwide

ATLANTA, Ga., 2016-Sep-23 — /EPR Retail News/ — Chick-fil-A® announced today (September 19, 2016) it is expanding and updating the company’s scholarship initiative to offer Team Members maximum flexibility and support in their pursuit of higher education. The changes will more than double the company’s investment in Team Member scholarships – offering $4.9 million in scholarships in 2017 alone – to help students attend the school of their choice, as well as provide access to tuition discounts and other educational benefits at participating schools.

While Chick-fil-A, Inc. has awarded scholarships for more than 40 years, the enhanced educational assistance initiative, called Remarkable Futures, increases the amount of scholarships available. Students can receive up to $25,000 per year, as well as access to tuition discounts and other educational benefits at more than 70 colleges and universities nationwide, to help offset the cost of their education.

A significant, industry-leading initiative in both the number of scholarships awarded (more than 1,850 expected in 2017) and total financial investment in team members ($4.9 Million), Chick-fil-A, Inc.’s scholarship allows recipients to apply the funds to the school of their choice, whether online, on a college campus or at a vocational-technical school. And that’s not the only way Chick-fil-A, Inc. is offering students something different: local restaurant owners will nominate Team Members based on factors like leadership and community involvement, in addition to academic achievement. Chick-fil-A believes that commitment to community is an indicator of leadership and aims to foster future leaders with this initiative. The opportunities are open to Chick-fil-A Team Members who work both full- or part-time in a restaurant, and there is no length-of-service requirement associated with eligibility.

“Working in a Chick-fil-A restaurant is more than just an after-school job,” said Rodney Bullard, vice president of Community Affairs at Chick-fil-A and executive director of the Chick-fil-A Foundation. We want all Chick-fil-A Team Members to become the best they can be, and our educational assistance initiative is one way we are helping them on their journey to becoming leaders in their communities and their careers. We have seen generations of leaders formed in Chick-fil-A restaurants, and we are proud to play a formative role in their future – wherever their journey takes them.”

Starting January 2, 2017, eligible Chick-fil-A Team Members can apply for any of three new educational assistance opportunities:

  • Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship: In 2017, 1,850 students will have an opportunity to receive a $2,500 scholarship for the 2017-2018 academic year, with the ability to re-apply for up to four years – for a potential total of up to $10,000 for college while serving as a Chick-fil-A Team Member. These scholarships will be awarded to Chick-fil-A Team Members based on leadership, academic achievement and community involvement. While this scholarship is not new (Chick-fil-A has awarded $36 million since 1973), the amount has more than doubled from the previous scholarship, which offered $1,000 and was non-renewable.
  • True Inspiration Scholarship: In 2017, 12 students will have an opportunity to receive an individual, one-time award of up to $25,000. These scholarships will be awarded to Chick-fil-A Team Members based on leadership, academic achievement, community involvement and demonstrated financial need.
  • Educational Assistance Opportunities: In addition to scholarships, Chick-fil-A is offering Team Members access to tuition discounts and other educational benefits at more than 70 colleges and universities across the country, which can be combined with either of the above scholarships. Opportunities and eligibility vary by school, but educational benefits include tuition discounts up to 30 percent and are effective immediately. For a full list of participating schools, visit chick-fil-a.com/scholarships.

To be eligible for these opportunities, applicants must be employed as a Team Member by a Chick-fil-A Franchisee, a Chick-fil-A, Inc.-operated restaurant, or an STC brand restaurant. Current restaurant team members can learn how to apply through their local Operator, Interim Manager or Executive General Manager.

Chick-fil-A, Inc. began awarding scholarships to Team Members in 1973 based on founder S. Truett Cathy’s desire to incentivize Team Members to further their education. Since then, nearly 36,000 Team Members have received scholarships, bringing the total amount to nearly $36 million applied at more than 3,000 schools nationwide.

Chick-fil-A® doubles its investment in Team Member scholarships — offering $4.9 million in 2017 alone

ATLANTA, Ga., 2016-Sep-23 — /EPR Retail News/ — Chick-fil-A® announces today (September 19, 2016) a new initiative that will more than double the company’s investment in Team Members’ college educations – providing $4.9 Million in scholarships in 2017 alone, as well as access to tuition discounts and other benefits at more than 70 colleges and universities nationwide.  While Chick-fil-A has offered scholarships for more than 40 years, the enhanced initiative, called Remarkable Futures, increases the amount of funding per recipient, allowing students to receive up to $25,000 in scholarships to be applied at any accredited institution of their choice, including online and on-campus formats, and can be combined with tuition discounts and other educational benefits at participating institutions.

This investment in Chick-fil-A Team Members represents a significant, industry-leading initiative, both in the number of scholarships given (more than 1,850 expected in 2017) and total financial investment in Team Members ($4.9 Million). ATLANTA, Ga., 2016-Aug-31 — /EPR Retail News/ — Chick-fil-A customers in the states of New York and New Jersey, and cities of San Diego, Columbia, SC, and Washington, DC will be the first to taste three new breakfast items this fall[1]. In an effort to offer both classic customer favorites, and breakfast options with new flavors, Chick-fil-A® is testing a new Hash Brown Scramble – that can be served in either a bowl or as a burrito-  and an Egg White Grill Bowl. The same restaurants will also test a new Berry Protein Blend breakfast beverage. The new breakfast items will be available at participating restaurants during breakfast hours.

The Hash Brown Scramble is a hearty breakfast option served as a burrito or in a bowl. The Scramble includes crispy Chick-fil-A Hash Browns, scrambled eggs, a Monterey Jack cheddar cheese blend and a choice of sliced Chick-fil-A Nuggets or sausage. It is served with Jalapeño Salsa. The Hash Brown Scramble Bowl has 450 calories and 30 grams of protein.  The Hash Brown Scramble Burrito contains 650 calories and 31 grams of protein.

The Egg White Grill Bowl is a new protein-packed breakfast entrée that’s also low in calories, making it a great choice for health-conscious guests. Inspired by Chick-fil-A’s new Egg White Grill breakfast sandwich that rolled out in July, the Egg White Grill Bowl contains freshly scrambled egg whites, a Monterey Jack cheddar cheese blend and sliced grilled chicken. It is also served with Jalapeño Salsa. The Egg White Grill Bowl has 180 calories and packs in 29 grams of protein.

A great option for customers on-the-go, the new Berry Protein Blend is a substantial breakfast beverage made with chia seeds, ancient grains, mixed berries and yogurt. It’s handspun with a small portion of Chick-fil-A’s signature Icedream® and topped with Honey Brown Sugar Granola for an extra crunch. The Berry Protein Blend beverage has 340 calories and 23 grams of protein.

“More people are eating breakfast away from home, and we want to meet the needs of our guests by providing breakfast options that span a variety of nutritional needs, tastes and ingredients,” said Matt Abercrombie, senior consultant of menu development. “In addition to our classic breakfast offerings our customers know and love like our Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit or Chick-n-Minis, we’re excited to offer three new breakfast items for our customers to try and help us determine whether or not we launch them nationwide.”

In addition to the menu items that Chick-fil-A is testing in select markets, customers will also be able to order the Chicken Egg & Cheese breakfast sandwich on the newly added English muffin.

The new breakfast items will only be available in participating restaurants during the limited-time test. Chick-fil-A will evaluate customer feedback following test to determine if the new menu items will rollout nationwide in the future.

Chick-fil-A selects Queens resident Paul Daniels as franchise owner of its third New York City restaurant set to open on Sept. 1

NEW YORK, 2016-Aug-23 — /EPR Retail News/ — Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Queens resident Paul Daniels as the local franchise owner of its third New York City restaurant – Chick-fil-A at Queens Center Mall – set to open on Thursday, Sept. 1. Daniels has a long history of experience in the quick-service industry, including as a Chick-fil-A Team Member and later as Director of Operations at two Chick-fil-A restaurants in Waco and Odessa, Texas. Between those two stints with Chick-fil-A, Daniels seized the opportunity to move abroad to be a general manager for London’s EAT. The Real Food Company, where he managed day-to-day operations of three restaurants throughout Central and West London.

A Texas native, Daniels relocated to Queens with his wife, Taryn, to open Chick-fil-A at Queens Center Mall and lives a short 8-minute walk from the restaurant. In addition to his vast restaurant experience, Daniels’ work abroad in two of London’s most international neighborhoods was an experience that left him eager to live in and serve the diverse population of Queens. He will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, as well as employing approximately 80 full- and part-time employees, building relationships with local organizations and businesses, and serving guests.

“Queens is a thriving global community, and my goal for this restaurant is to establish a global family. I want to make sure that my team members seize the opportunity to learn from one another and embrace the qualities that make each one of us unique,” Daniels says. “I look forward to creating a fun, rewarding workplace and to seeing what my team members can achieve. I’d love to see them grow with Chick-fil-A and to realize the opportunity that they, too, can one day become an entrepreneur and own their own Chick-fil-A franchise.”

Part of Daniels’ role as Operator of Chick-fil-A at Queens Center Mall will be developing and retaining top talent. At Queens Center Mall, team members will be hired locally and paid above the $12 minimum wage slated to go into effect in December 2016. To help its team members pay for college, the restaurant will also offer the opportunity for college scholarships through the restaurant company’s national scholarship program, which has provided more than $30 million to its team members since its inception. As with all Chick-fil-A restaurants, team members are guaranteed Sundays off.

As part of its Grand Opening, the restaurant will bring Chick-fil-A’s signature “First 100” celebration to Queens, giving 100 adults the chance to win free Chick-fil-A meals for a year. The First 100 celebration will transform an entire level of the Queens Center Mall parking garage into a family-friendly campout as the crowd awaits the opening and their shot at 52 free Chick-fil-A meals.

The First 100 event will award more than $37,000 in free food to 100 local residents. A digital offer card loaded with a one-year supply of free Chick-fil-A Meals will be given to each of the first 100 eligible adults, ages 18 and older with identification, in line when the doors open at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1. If more than 100 people are on-site when the line officially forms at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, then all 100 spots will be determined by a drawing held that evening. Those selected will camp out in the parking garage to secure their spot.Because the First 100 event is designed to introduce local residents to Chick-fil-A, the event is only open to guests residing in the five boroughs of New York City. A complete listing of eligible zip codes and rules can be found at Chick-fil-A.com/Locations/Openings. A Chick-fil-A meal, snacks and all-night activities will be included in the campout.

Chick-fil-A at Queens Center Mall will be the third Chick-fil-A restaurant in New York City and is the company’s first restaurant in the borough of Queens. Like its NYC counterparts at 37th and 6th and 46th and 6th, Chick-fil-A at Queens Center Mall will partner with New York Common Pantry, a local organization committed to reducing hunger throughout New York City, to donate surplus food. Last year, New York Common Pantry distributed over 3 million meals and served over 70,000 low-income New Yorkers. To date, the New York City Chick-fil-A restaurants have donated more than 2,400 pounds of food to New York Common Pantry since September 2015.

Nearly everything on the Chick-fil-A menu is made from scratch daily, including salads made from whole vegetables and fruits that are hand-chopped throughout the day. The lemonade is fresh-squeezed and is made from three simple ingredients:  lemon, sugar and water. Like all Chick-fil-A restaurants, the chicken served at Chick-fil-A at Queens Center Mall will be 100 percent whole breast meat, without any fillers, hormones or additives. Each chicken breast is hand-breaded to order and pressure cooked in 100 percent refined peanut oil, which is naturally trans-fat- and cholesterol-free. By the end of 2019, every Chick-fil-A restaurant will serve chicken raised without antibiotics.

The restaurant will source its bread locally by purchasing the buns for its signature sandwiches from Automatic Rolls of New Jersey and the flatbread for its low-calorie wraps from Damascus Bakery in Brooklyn.

Chick-fil-A at Queens Center Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday beginning Sept. 1.

Chick-fil-A launches new protein-packed breakfast sandwich — The new Egg White Grill

ATLANTA, 2016-Jul-18 — /EPR Retail News/ — With American consumers eating breakfast away from home more frequently, Chick-fil-A today launches a new breakfast sandwich to meet the demands of those seeking a healthy breakfast on-the-go. The new Egg White Grill, a protein-packed breakfast sandwich, is the first new breakfast entree for the national quick-service restaurant chain since 2010.

The Egg White Grill is a lower-calorie menu option made with a breakfast-sized portion of grilled chicken breast, freshly grilled egg whites and American cheese served on a toasted multigrain English muffin. The sandwich has 300 calories and 25 grams of protein and is intended to keep customers’ hunger satisfied throughout their busy morning routines. The sandwich starts at $3.35.

“At Chick-fil-A, we’re constantly looking for innovative – and delicious – ways to meet the needs of our guests,” said David Farmer, vice president of menu strategy and development. “We understand the importance of breakfast and the impact it has throughout the day. We tested the Egg White Grill in select markets across the country, including our busiest restaurants in Manhattan, and our customers gave us great feedback. The Egg White Grill is the perfect solution for our health-conscious customers looking for a grab-and-go breakfast.”

Industry-wide, the breakfast day part has grown more than 60 percent in the past five years[1]. The Egg White Grill makes Chick-fil-A one of the first fast food restaurants to offer grilled chicken as a breakfast option, a move consistent with the company’s efforts to offer a menu of choice that accommodates individual dietary preferences.

Chick-fil-A added breakfast to the menu in 1986, with the Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit. The chain has since added variety to the breakfast menu, including Chick-n-Minis, a Breakfast Burrito, the Greek Yogurt Parfait and a fresh fruit cup, which was a first for the industry when it was added to the menu in 2004.

As part of further changes to its breakfast menu, Chick-fil-A today increased the size of its Greek Yogurt Parfait, which originally launched in 2015, from 3.5 oz. to 5.5 oz. The resized Greek Yogurt Parfait is 180 calories, 12 grams of protein and starts at $2.95.

Beyond breakfast, today Chick-fil-A also adds a new Sweet & Spicy Sriracha dipping sauce and three new and improved sauce flavors — Smokehouse BBQ, Garlic & Herb Ranch and Zesty Buffalo – to its lunch and dinner line-up. The new and improved sauces were developed in a continued effort to meet changing customer tastes and flavor trends.

Throughout Chick-fil-A’s history, the company has been on a journey to serve not only delicious food with a warm smile, but also offer a menu customers feel great about eating. Chick-fil-A removed trans fats from the entire menu in 2008 and removed high fructose corn syrup and artificial colors from dressings and sauces in 2015. The company is also committed to serving chicken raised with “No Antibiotics Ever” by the end of 2019.

On that day, Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide will offer a free entrée to any customer who visits a restaurant dressed as a cow.

Adult customers who dress in any type of cow attire, whether it’s head-to-hoof or sporting a cow-spotted accessory, will be rewarded with a free Chick-fil-A entrée of their choice, such as an Original Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap or Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit. Children can receive a free Kid’s Meal for dressing in a cow costume. The Cow Appreciation Day celebration will last from store opening through 7 p.m. local time (check local store listings for individual store opening hours).

Cow Appreciation Day celebrates the restaurant company’s iconic “Eat Mor Chikin®” Cow advertising campaign; an award-winning marketing campaign that is marking its 21st  anniversary this year. Chick-fil-A first introduced the Cow campaign in 1995 as a three-dimensional billboard concept depicting a black-and-white cow sitting atop the back of another cow painting the words “Eat Mor Chikin” on the billboard.  To everyone’s surprise, the Cows’ clever self-preservation message would be the beginning of a campaign still running strong two decades later. In addition to clever roadside billboards, the Eat Mor Chikin Cows are the focal point of Chick-fil-A’s in-store point-of-purchase materials, promotions, radio, TV and internet advertising, and clothing and merchandise sales.

Customers can visit www.CowAppreciationDay.com starting Friday, June 24, to prepare for the occasion. The cows will also share costume ideas on their Facebook page. Additionally, all Chick-fil-A restaurants will have an active Cow Appreciation Day Snapchat filter that will allow guests to share their experience with their friends and family.

Quick-Service Chicken Chain Known for Fresh Food and Industry-Leading Service Set to Open Three Restaurants in 2017

HENDERSON, Nev., 2016-Jun-15 — /EPR Retail News/ — Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc. broke ground today at the future site of its first stand-alone location in Nevada, with the second to follow next week. The restaurants, named Chick-fil-A at Diamond Summit Plaza (Eastern and St. Rosa Parkway) and Chick-fil-A at Stephanie and Warm Springs, will be located at 9925 S. Eastern Ave. and 460 N. Stephanie St. respectively, and are two of three Chick-fil-A locations opening in the Las Vegas area in 2017.

Chick-fil-A is known for its menu of fresh, hand-crafted food and offers a variety of options for guests of all ages. Signature items include a hand-breaded, boneless chicken breast sandwich, Waffle Potato Fries and hand-spun milkshakes. The restaurant uses only premium ingredients and makes many of its menu items from scratch in the restaurant each day, including hand-chopped salads and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

Locally Owned and Operated

Both restaurants will be locally-owned and operated small businesses with employment and tax benefits going back to the Henderson community. The franchise owners, who will be announced later this year, will be local residents and will oversee all day-to-day operations of the restaurants. They will also be actively involved in the Henderson community through partnerships with local schools, charities and non-profit organizations.

The restaurants will each create approximately 80 full- and part-time jobs, with team member hiring slated to begin later this year. Chick-fil-A strives to offer all employees and staff a supportive workplace with opportunities for leadership development, promotions that lead to management roles, competitive wages and respect for work-life balance. Chick-fil-A is known for hiring, developing and retaining young talent, and has a long tradition in the food industry for setting the highest standards in customer service. In 2015, the company received the highest score ever in its industry during an annual study on customer service by the American Customer Satisfaction Index.

Sustainable and Welcoming Restaurant Design

Chick-fil-A’s sustainability efforts focus on serving better food in greener restaurants with reduced waste. With this in mind, the Henderson Chick-fil-A restaurants will be designed with water and energy efficiency features, air quality control and waste diversion efforts, among other environmental initiatives. Chick-fil-A currently recycles all cardboard and plastic films in back-of-house operations, and all napkins, tray liners and Kid’s Meal bags are made from 100 percent recycled content.

The Henderson restaurants will feature Chick-fil-A’s newest kitchen and interior design, with each location having indoor seating for 122, additional outdoor seating and indoor playgrounds for children to enjoy. Guests will also have the convenience of Chick-fil-A’s award-winning drive-thru service, and will be able to order and pay before arrival using Chick-fil-A’s new mobile ordering and mobile payment app, Chick-fil-A One™. The restaurants will be open Monday through Saturday.

“We have heard from so many Chick-fil-A fans in Nevada that they want Chick-fil-A in their neighborhood, and we’re thrilled to be one milestone closer to joining the community of Henderson,” said Don Ikeler, Director of Design and Construction for Chick-fil-A, Inc. “I know I can speak on behalf of our future local franchise owners when I say we are looking forward to being a home away from home for our guests and serving great food with genuine hospitality.”

The Henderson restaurants are two of three Chick-fil-A restaurants slated to open in the Las Vegas area in 2017, with another opening in the city of Las Vegas later in the year.

Chick-fil-A® launches mobile app Chick-fil-A One TM

App gives customers a new way to order, ability to customize meals and chance to redeem and select surprise offers

ATLANTA, Ga., 2016-Jun-06 — /EPR Retail News/ —  Today (June 1, 2016), Chick-fil-A® launches Chick-fil-A One TM – a mobile app that gives customers a new way to experience Chick-fil-A. The app is designed to give customers more choices to better meet their needs, including the ability to customize their meal, order and pay in advance and skip the line at the register, speeding up the process of waiting at the counter or drive-thru.

According to a recent survey commissioned by Chick-fil-A, 82 percent of millennial parents say they would do almost anything to avoid long lines at fast food restaurants when they are with their children. In fact, nearly half (48 percent) said they would rather not eat at all than stand in a line.

“We know time is valuable, and we’re excited to offer this new convenience that will empower guests to order what they want, when they want it and exactly how they want it, all from their mobile device,” said Michael Lage, senior manager of digital experience for Chick-fil-A. “This app was developed based on customer feedback, so it was specifically designed to give our guests an even more convenient and personalized experience in our restaurant.”

Chick-fil-A One, which replaces the restaurant chain’s previous app, features a unique membership program that will surprise customers with their favorite food for free, based on their preferences and previous orders.  As users order or purchase through Chick-fil-A One, they get closer to their next free offering and can track their progress in the app.

Any customer who downloads (or updates) the free app and creates a Chick-fil-A One account between June 1 and June 11 will receive an offer for a free Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich or Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Once the offer is claimed, guests will have until June 30 to redeem their free sandwich.

Chick-fil-A One is available via the Apple App Store or Google Play, or simply by tweeting through an activation that was custom-built by Twitter for Chick-fil-A. From June 1 through August 14, customers can Tweet #CFAOne with the horizontal cow emoji (🐄) to receive a prompt to download the app from Twitter directly to their mobile device. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 13.

A key feature of Chick-fil-A One, mobile ordering, allows customers to place a fully-customized order based on his or her meal preferences. Menu items may be customized via the app, and food is prepared when customers “check in” at the restaurant on the app. The check-in signals the kitchen to prepare the meal and ensures guests receive fresh food quickly and on their schedule. Customers can pay through the app and then skip the line to pick up their food at the mobile order counter, saving time for guests on-the-go. Chick-fil-A One will also save favorite orders for easy reordering in the future.

Chick-fil-A launched the first version of its app in 2012. The company began piloting mobile ordering in 2013. All Chick-fil-A One users also have full access to the app’s other features, including nutrition and allergen information and a restaurant locator.

The 22 deserving not-for-profits, which represent 17 states across the country, are receiving a combined $1.26 million in grants to further their work fostering leadership and entrepreneurial spirit in children.

This is the second year the Chick-fil-A Foundation has hosted the True Inspiration Awards, which were inspired by the generosity of Chick-fil-A’s late founder S. Truett Cathy, who dedicated his life to serving his community by helping young people. The grants, given earlier this year to each organization, range from $15,000 to $100,000. Organizations either applied or were nominated by a local Chick-fil-A restaurant franchisee based on the group’s local work to inspire children to become future leaders.

“We’re honored to be able to partner with these incredible organizations to improve the lives of children. Our mission is to help every child be all they were created to be, and these organizations are striving to achieve that same goal each and every day,” said Rodney Bullard, vice president of community affairs for Chick-fil-A and executive director of the Chick-fil-A Foundation.  He added, “The True Inspiration Awards were created to honor our founder, S. Truett Cathy, and we’re proud to be able to celebrate his legacy and these organizations that have the same generous heart for giving.”

The event was made possible by the generosity of presenting sponsor, Delta Airlines, as well as hospitality sponsor, Legendary Events.

The Chick-fil-A Foundation is now accepting nominations for the 2017 True Inspiration Awards. Organizations that align with the mission to support youth and give back to their communities can be nominated online atChick-filAFoundation.org/TrueInspirationAwards.

Chick-fil-A kicks off Michigan expansion

LANSING, Mich,. 2016-Apr-27 — /EPR Retail News/ — Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc. today formally kicked off its Michigan expansion with a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of its first free-standing restaurant in the state’s capital city, Lansing.

The Lansing Chick-fil-A restaurant is one of two projected to open this fall – the other is located inside Troy’s Somerset Collection Mall. The restaurant company is committed to growth in Michigan and plans to build three to four new restaurants per year on average, totaling to 15 to 20 locations in various parts of the state over the next five years. Chick-fil-A’s expansion in Michigan comes at a time when 25 percent of the company’s new restaurant openings in 2016 will take place in the Midwest, which attests to the growth in that region.

In addition, Chick-fil-A has continued its national growth by entering several other new markets across the country.  In 2015, Chick-fil-A opened its first restaurants in Seattle and New York City, and so far this year, Chick-fil-A opened its first restaurant in Portland and a second location in New York City near Rockefeller Center. The company will also continue growing its footprint in various parts of the West and Northeast in the years to come.

Local Ownership of a Responsible Business

Every Chick-fil-A restaurant is a locally owned and operated small business, creating approximately 80 full- and part-time jobs each with employment and tax benefits going back to the local community. Chick-fil-A franchise owners live and work in the community in which their restaurants are located and are highly involved in the day-to-day operations at the restaurant. Seeking to become highly involved in their local communities, the franchise owners frequently work to support local schools and organizations.

Great food and great service are hallmarks of the Chick-fil-A experience, and each franchise owner aims to run a responsible and sustainable business. For example, all of Chick-fil-A’s napkins, tray liners and Kid’s Meal bags are made from 100 percent recycled content, and every restaurant nationwide recycles. Responsible business decisions extend down to even the coffee served at Chick-fil-A restaurants – the restaurant company chose its specialty-grade coffee partner, THRIVE Farmers coffee, in part because of their farmer-direct model that creates up to 10 times more income for their farmers than traditional coffee models.

Fresh Food with High-Quality Ingredients

Chick-fil-A is known for its menu of fresh, hand-crafted food that offers a variety of options for guests. Signature items include a hand-breaded, pressure-cooked, boneless chicken breast sandwich, Waffle Potato Fries and hand-spun milkshakes. Chick-fil-A’s Michigan restaurants will use only premium ingredients and make many of their menu items from scratch in the restaurant daily, including fresh-squeezed lemonade and salads.

At all Chick-fil-A restaurants, the chicken served is 100 percent whole breast meat, without any fillers, hormones or additives. Each chicken breast is hand-breaded to order and pressure cooked in 100 percent refined peanut oil, which is naturally trans-fat- and cholesterol-free. By the end of 2019, every Chick-fil-A restaurant will serve chicken raised without antibiotics.

Supportive Workplace

Known for developing and retaining young talent, Chick-fil-A offers a supportive workplace with competitive wages and respect for work-life balance (with Sundays off), as well as opportunities for leadership development and promotions that lead to management roles. To help its team members pay for college, the restaurant will also offer the opportunity for college scholarships through the restaurant company’s national program, which has provided more than $30 million to help its team members pay for college since its inception.

Commitment to Customer Service

With a long-standing tradition in the restaurant industry for setting the highest standards in customer service, Chick-fil-A ranked first for customer satisfaction in the Limited Service Restaurants Industry by the American Customer Satisfaction Index for 2015. The company has also earned recognition as one of America’s “Most Inspiring Companies” byForbes Magazine, one of America’s “Top 20 Most Admired Brands” by The Harris Poll, “Top Fast Food Chicken Chain” – for best chicken sandwich, customer service and cleanliness – by Consumer Reports, among other honors.

Chick-fil-A® launches Frosted Coffee

ATLANTA, Ga., 2016-Mar-09 — /EPR Retail News/ — This spring, Chick-fil-A® is taking cold-brewed iced coffee to the next level, introducing Frosted Coffee for customers beginning Monday, March 14 at restaurants nationwide.

Frosted Coffee is made by combining Chick-fil-A’s signature vanilla Icedream® with THRIVE Farmers™ cold-brewed iced coffee. The hand-spun treat starts at just 240 calories, offering fewer than half the calories of a milkshake.

Chick-fil-A’s cold-brew iced coffee process is typically reserved for specialty coffee houses, providing a hand-crafted taste. Unlike traditional techniques in which hot-brewed coffee is cooled and later iced, Chick-fil-A’s cold-brewed coffee is never heated; instead coffee grounds are infused with cool, filtered water and steeped using proprietary equipment for up to 24 hours to create a concentrate that is naturally sweeter with low acidity and bitterness. This is then blended with Chick-fil-A’s signature Icedream®.

Chick-fil-A’s Icedream® is a delicious, dairy treat with an old-fashioned vanilla taste. The launch of Frosted Coffee comes on the heels of the successful launch of Frosted Lemonade in 2015.

“We’re excited to offer customers a new, great-tasting frosted beverage just in time for spring,” said Amanda Norris, senior director of menu development for Chick-fil-A. “Our guests let us know how much they’ve enjoyed Frosted Lemonade, and we think they’ll love Frosted Coffee just as much when they’re seeking  a delicious, light treat.”

Frosted Coffee will be available in a small (14-ounce) or large (20-ounce) serving with prices starting at $2.69 for a small. A limited-time menu option, Frosted Coffee will be available through May 31, 2016.

Chick-fil-A partnered with THRIVE Farmers Coffee in 2014, becoming the first in the quick-service industry to offer specialty-grade coffee. The sale of each cup of coffee provides direct revenue to the THRIVE Farmers network of family farmers in Central America. The farmer-direct platform allows the farmers to earn up to 10 times more than farmers earn in traditional revenue models.
