PetSmart launches charitable grooming and PetsHotel® services this National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

PHOENIX, 2016-Oct-03 — /EPR Retail News/ — For the second year in a row, in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, PetSmart is offering its charitable grooming and PetsHotel® services to benefit Susan G. Komen®, including its unique Pet Expressions where dogs can don a Pink Ribbon stencil to honor the cause.

Beginning Oct. 1, $1 from every “Pink Ribbon” service will go to the nonprofit Susan G. Komen, the world’s largest breast cancer organization funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside of the federal government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. The offerings include themed bandanas, charms, bows and even the Pink Ribbon Pet Expressions stencil to support this important cause throughout the month of October and beyond.

Pink Ribbon Produce returns this October for its sixth year at all Harris Teeter stores for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Product Suppliers Partner with Harris Teeter for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Matthews, N.C., 2014-10-2— /EPR Retail News/ — Pink Ribbon Produce, a unique retail program committed to making the fight against breast cancer easy, will return this October for its sixth year at all Harris Teeter stores. Since 2008, Harris Teeter’s produce partners have raised $189,416 by partnering with Pink Ribbon Produce, helping to support important programs funded by the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc .® (NBCF). Returning this year is the Fresh Plate Challenge which encourages consumers to fill half of their plate with fruits and vegetables to support the NBCF and reduce their own risk of cancer and other non-communicable diseases.

“The Fresh Plate Challenge is a great addition to Pink Ribbon Produce and we are so glad to be a part of it again this year,” said Danna Jones, communication manager with Harris Teeter. “We hope the challenge will continue to promote the health benefits of eating more fruits and veggies.”

With the Fresh Plate Challenge, Pink Ribbon Produce, Harris Teeter and its produce vendors want to help consumers meet the challenge of filling half of their plate with fruits and vegetables. The American Cancer Society recommends eating at least 2 ½ cups of fruits and vegetables each day to help decrease the risk of cancer. The money raised goes back into the community by providing mammograms and educational programs to help save the lives of thousands of uninsured women. Stores will direct shoppers to the participating produce suppliers with a Pink Ribbon Produce program icon on posters and point-of-sale signs next to the product.

Commissary stores to feature samplings and demonstrations in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

FORT LEE, Va., 2014-9-26— /EPR Retail News/ — Commissary shoppers will see lots of pink in October, as stores feature samplings and demonstrations in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

DeCA’s industry partners – vendors, suppliers and brokers – are collaborating with commissaries throughout October to offer everyday savings with promotions such as:

  • “Drink To Pink”sale, sponsored by Apple and Eve’s Northland juice brand. Along with great prices and coupons, the company will donate 25 cents per bottle, up to $25,000, to the National Breast Cancer Research Fund.
  • Hardies Fresh Foods specials on the following products: Naturesweet Tomatoes, Fresh Express Salads, Kitchen Pride Mushrooms, and Fresh from Texas (pre-cut items). There will be pink, reusable grocery bags given away with the purchase of one of their pink produce items.
