Online Dog Food Sales Growing Steadily

The number of people looking to buy their dog food from online shopping sites is growing steadily and has been unaffected by the recession.

That’s according to Swell Pets, one of the UK’s fastest growing online pet retailers.

The Hyde-based firm has examined national and international Internet search data which shows that searches for dog food have been rising steadily since 2004, even during the recession.

According to Swell Pets spokesman Antony Steadman, the company has seen huge growth in sales of dog food from its website www.swellpets.co.uk with very high levels of repeat custom.

He said: “The growth of the online dog food market made 2010 our best year to date. We saw a significant increase in sales of dog food over the past year, with thousands of customers choosing to save money by buying their dog food online, rather than from their supermarket or pet shop.

“The ability to get well-known premium dog food brands such as Arden Grange dog foodand IAMS Dog Food at low prices, along with free next day delivery for many orders, means that online retailers, such as Swell Pets, are persuading more and more people to switch to buying dog food online.”
