PHOENIX, 2016-Dec-21 — /EPR Retail News/ — As the online shopping window is closing for traditional home delivery, PetSmart announced today (Dec. 19, 2016) it is offering FREE Same-Day delivery service for all PetSmart.com online purchases to homes in the New York City and Yonkers metro areas. The Same-Day service is offered through the pet specialty retailer’s collaboration partner, Deliv, and is available in 15 additional metro areas across the nation, totaling nearly 2,500 ZIP codes.
“We know pet parents love to involve their pets at the holidays, including giving them gifts,” said Eran Cohen, Chief Customer Experience Officer, PetSmart. “We also know it’s a hectic time for a lot of families and that pets might be last on the gift list. We aim to make shopping hassle-free for pet parents. So starting Dec. 17 through Dec. 24, in the 17 cities covered, pet parents can order online from their desktops or while on-the-go from their mobile devices at PetSmart.com and receive their packages that day with free delivery service. Even the eleventh-hour shoppers are covered because orders placed on Christmas Eve before 2 p.m. can arrive later that same day* just in time for gift openings.”
PetSmart has all the gifts topping pets’ wish lists this year,*** from festive pet apparel for photo ops to toys for gift opening events and feasting treats to involve pets in dinner parties and family meals. PetSmart’s Holiday ’16 collection is one of its largest holiday pet collections to date. PetSmart also has last-minute gifts for pet-loving humans, including coffee mugs featuring dogs and cats, holiday tree ornaments and vintage glass bird feeders, as well as philanthropic items that give back to pets in need, including PetSmart’s collectible line of Chance and Lucky plush toys.
Deliv is a leading crowdsourced, last-mile logistics company that powers scheduled, same-day delivery and returns for omnichannel retailers, local businesses and e-commerce companies. For PetSmart.com’s Same-Day delivery service, PetSmart utilizes its stores in the local community as fulfillment resources, an efficient approach in online retail.
In addition to the local metro areas in New York City and Yonkers, PetSmart.com’s Same-Day delivery service with Deliv is also available in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, San Jose, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Miami, Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Boston, Northern New Jersey and Washington, D.C.
*Nearly 2,500 ZIP codes are covered for Same-Day delivery service in the 17 metro areas. As online shoppers select products and insert their ZIP code, they will learn if Same-Day service is available to them and for that product.
