Sao Paulo,Brazil, 2016-Nov-16 — /EPR Retail News/ — On 10 November, Carrefour Brazil unveiled the latest branch of its convenience store format. The opening in Sao Paulo of the 50th Carrefour Express store reinforces the company’s investment in a sector that offers customers improved levels of flexibility and comfort, focusing on a daily range of fresh and ready-to-consume items. The new store is located within the Metrô Tucuruvi mall, in the city’s northern sector. It is the network’s fourth store to be opened in a shopping centre, following those already located in Shopping Metrópole (in São Bernardo do Campo, SP), and CENESP (Centro Empresarial São Paulo) and Mais Shopping in the state capital.

The Express brand further diversifies the services offered by Carrefour Brazil, enabling the group to meet the growing demand among customers for quicker visits to stores located in the vicinity of their homes or the workplace. The company’s first store in this format was opened back in the second half of 2014, in the district of Tatuapé. In addition to the stores in São Bernardo do Campo, Santo André (SP), São Caetano (SP), Osasco (SP) and Barueri (SP), the format is also now present in districts such as Jardim Paulista, Saúde, Moema, Santo Amaro, Vila Mariana, República, Itaim, Mooca, Pinheiros, Vergueiro and Tucuruvi, all located within the city of Sao Paulo itself.

To guarantee the most user-friendly shopping experience, the layout of Carrefour Express stores has been specially designed with customer shopping habits in mind, and the products are arranged in such a way as to make it easier for customers to find their desired items. As is the case for each branch of Carrefour Express, the Metrô Tucuruvi store has been adapted to respond to the characteristics and demands of the surrounding district, taking various factors into consideration such as the sales area and range of products on offer.

Carrefour now with nearly 470 quality lines around the world

Boulogne-Billancourt, France, 2015-4-29 — /EPR Retail News/ — In 2014, a number of countries sought to relaunch their Lines to reflect the work that France has been doing since 2011. China, Argentina and Poland have already finished – they have given impetus to their initiatives by setting up new lines with local producers. China, for example, has launched new grapefruit and orange lines.

Carrefour Taiwan and Carrefour Brazil are more invested than ever before in the initiative. Italy is going to be relaunching its lines in 2015.

To date, the group has nearly 470 Carrefour quality lines. Consumers in each country appreciate the close relationships that the retailer has with local farmers – relationships that serve as guarantees of trust.
Naturally, all of these initiatives highlight our Quality Lines, the purpose of which – since they were launched in 1992 – has always been to provide solutions to future concerns!

Carrefour Brazil launches the Instituto! a non-profit making corporate philanthropy body to serve the general public interest

Boulogne-Billancourt, France, 2015-3-23 — /EPR Retail News/ — Carrefour Brazil launches the Instituto! The Instituto Carrefour is set up as a non-profit making corporate philanthropy body and exists to serve the general public interest. Promoting diversity by working in three different areas: raising people’s awareness of Human Rights, facilitating the professional integration of people who require assistance and promoting self-entrepreneurship through microloans.

The Instituto Carrefour devises initiatives designed to help reduce social inequality in Brazil. One of its tasks will be to promote dialogue among the structures that represent various sections of the general public, thereby helping them to gain a foothold on the job market. The organisation will also help set up tripartite partnerships between NGOs, companies and public authorities so as to support social projects to tackle discrimination.

A call for people to initiate projects to promote diversity

A call for projects funded by the Carrefour Foundation with the help of a €100,000 grant will be issued at the “Diversidae e Inclusão” Forum. Its aim is to find high-quality people to promote initiatives who, having won, will then be able to get support from the Instituto Carrefour.

To apply, the projects selected must be about food, an area in which the Carrefour Foundation operates, they must be aimed at people suffering from exclusion, they must be located near Carrefour stores and they must have a positive impact at either regional or national level.

Carrefour Brazil opened its first retail outlet under the Supeco banner

São Paulo, Brazil, 2014-10-16— /EPR Retail News/ — On 9 October, Carrefour Brazil opened its first retail outlet under the Supeco banner in the country. The store is located in Sorocaba, in São Paulo.

Under the management of Atacadão, this new format is geared towards everyday products and was especially created to serve small businesses and professionals (such as bakers and pizzerias), as well as retail consumers within a 3 to 5 km radius of large urban areas. The concept focuses on low prices, convenience and high-speed service to help it stand out from its rivals in the eyes of its customers.

Supeco’s opening is another important step in the company’s growth strategy in Brazil. The start of its trading today – together with the recent launch of the local Carrefour Express banner – completes the Carrefour Group’s multiformat presence in the country, which now includes all of the models that the company operates at international level.

Supeco is a wholesale banner that Carrefour launched in Spain two years ago. Its launch is consistent with the Group’s multi-format development strategy. The banner currently has around 10 retail outlets in Europe.

As far as goods and services are concerned, Supeco offers the traditional categories of everyday products, with the emphasis mainly on key brands and alternatives at affordable prices which still offer good value for money. All in all, each retail outlet will stock nearly 2500 items over sales areas ranging from 1500 m² to 3000 m². They will have 6 to 10 checkouts, depending on the characteristics of the region where each Supeco outlet is located.
