Key highlights from the new AW17 range include:

TOYS

Argos was the first retailer to launch its Top Toys for Christmas predictions this year. Top toy highlights includeLuvabella, an incredibly lifelike doll, with advanced animated features enabling it to drink milk from a bottle and fall asleep just as a real little one would. Chad Valley has introduced the Tiny Treasures twins (£99.99) to its baby doll range. LEGO Boost (£149.99) provides everything needed for children to make five different LEGO models that can then be coded using a free app. Popular on-screen toys include PJ Masks Headquarter Playset (£49.99) and RC Sqweeks (£79.99) from Transformers: The Last Knight.

Much-loved heritage brand Chad Valley’s range of quality and affordable toys are designed to encourage imaginative play. The Mega Ball Run (£39.99), Deluxe Corner Kitchen (£139.99) and Glamour Mansion Dolls House (£64.99) are sure to be popular gifts this year.

Argos’s new season home collection is based on five key trends with stylish, quality products available across its own brand ranges – Heart of House, The Collection and Home by Argos.

It’s the first time Sony has offered consumers a sleek, new gold console to match its gold controllers, and is bound to be a ‘must-have’ for all style-conscious gamers. Tipped to be Nintendo’s best-selling console ever, the Nintendo Switch (£279.99) is hot property. Available in grey and neon, the portable console allows you to play anywhere and switch between TV and handheld mode.

LONDON, 2016-May-03 — /EPR Retail News/ — Sainsbury’s has announced that it will double the number of Click & Collect Groceries Sites in its store car parks over the next 12 months, as it further builds its multi-channel offer to make shopping easier for customers.

The supermarket launched its ‘Click & Collect’ Groceries service in March 2015, and since then its online orders have continued to grow. The service, which offers customers a hassle-free ‘drive-thru’ option, has proved very popular at the first 100 sites; attracting new customers to Sainsbury’s, and offering existing customers a new convenient way to pick up their shopping.

Robbie Feather, Sainsbury’s Director of Online, said: “We know that time is precious and people are increasingly looking for easier, more convenient ways to shop. This rollout forms part of our strategy to offer our customers more options to shop whenever and wherever they want.

Click & Collect is proving to be a popular hybrid between online shopping and visiting a store; especially amongst shoppers juggling work and looking after young children. Most people are using this speedy ‘drive- thru’ service to do a big shop for the week ahead.Customers really like the fact that they can collect their shopping at a time that suits them and on average it takes them just three minutes from start to end.”

Saturday mornings are the most popular time to pick up orders; and many customers also go into the store to quickly buy a few additional items, or use in-store services.

Click & Collect is already by far the most popular method for customers buying Sainsbury’s clothing online, with 80% of customers picking up their order at one of Sainsbury’s 712 in-store

LONDON, 2015-8-13— /EPR Retail News/ — Sainsbury’s is today launching its Tu clothing website http://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk, providing nationwide access to the collection. For the first time, customers across the whole of the UK will be able to buy the Tu clothing range from the comfort of their own homes.

A selection of Tu clothing is already available in over 400 Sainsbury’s stores, though customers previously only had access to the full Tu clothing range if they lived near one of the 160 stores carrying the full collection. The new online store, which includes womenswear, menswear and childrenswear, means that a much wider range of items is now available for next day delivery, standard delivery and click and collect. 710 stores will offer click and collect, including 112 convenience stores.

Tu clothing sales grew to £800m earlier this year and Sainsbury’s is currently the UK’s seventh largest clothing retailer by volume and 10th largest by value*. Sainsbury’s already brings Tu customers new collections every six weeks and is focused on being a destination for ‘high street style at supermarket prices.’

The retailer has launched 19 successful collections with Gok Wan, increasing market share and driving double digit sales growth. Sainsbury’s sells a pair of Gok for Tu jeans every minute in stores and a pair of knickers every three seconds. Sainsbury’s launches fresh Tu collections every six weeks, with new stock in stores every week and new trends landing within 8 weeks of them appearing on the catwalk. Customers are also shopping Tu’s childrenswear ranges more frequently than ever before and Tu is the fifth largest childrenswear retailer by volume and seventh by value**.  Tu is third in the UK for children’s Halloween dress up***.

Sainsbury’s introduces click and collect service to give customers quick and convenient option to pick up the shopping they’ve ordered online

LONDON, 2015-3-6 — /EPR Retail News/ — Sainsbury’s is rolling out a new service to give customers a quick and convenient option to pick up the shopping they’ve ordered online from store.

The first collection service from store is live today at Water Lane store in Farnham, Surrey, with nearly 20 more going live in the next two weeks. 100 stores are in the pipeline to deliver the service by the end of the year.

Customers shopping online in catchment areas where a collection service is available will soon be given a new option when they shop online, in addition to still being able to book the usual home delivery slots. Customers can then choose a participating store and collection time to pick up their shopping from a refrigerated van which will be parked in designated area in the store’s car park – manned and supported by a Sainsbury’s colleague.

Sainsbury’s Online Director, Robbie Feather, said: “This is yet another step for Sainsbury’s increasingly popular online service, and a demonstration of our commitment to giving our customers more convenient ways to shop with us, wherever and whenever they want.

“We’ll have 20 locations live by the end of March and will quickly roll out our service from there, incorporating feedback from our customers and colleagues as we go.”

The free collection slots will be available at eligible stores from Monday to Saturday from 8am to 1pm and then 2pm until 8pm in the evening. The service will also be available during store opening times on a Sunday.

All collections are subject to a minimum £20 spend, with no collection charge. Customers can place orders up to 20 days in advance. The latest an order can be placed for next day collection is 11pm, and collection slots will be subject to availability.

Sainsbury’s enjoys 30% increase in online food orders for the week leading up to Christmas – its biggest online Christmas ever

LONDON, 2014-12-17 — /EPR Retail News/ — Sainsbury’s will enjoy its biggest online Christmas ever this year, with around 30% more food orders taken for the week leading up to Christmas than for a normal week.

The online team are now preparing to make more than 100,000 deliveries in the three days to the 23rd December – the last delivery date before Christmas. The company has taken on more drivers to meet the increased demand and in total over 15,000 colleagues will pick, pack and deliver customer orders in more stores than ever before.

Online shopping is a fast-growing area of Sainsbury’s business and the company’s investment in the pricing of online deliveries has helped to drive the increase in the number of orders. As well as introducing a £1 delivery slot, Sainsbury’s is the only one of the big 4 supermarkets to offer delivery absolutely free after 2pm, Monday through Thursday on orders over £100. The retailer has also reduced the price of its online Delivery Passes. For a one-off payment, Delivery Pass holders can book a one hour delivery slot up to 7 days per week** on a minimum order of just £40. Around 70,000 online customers have taken advantage of this great value deal.

For customers who prefer to pick up their Christmas order from a store, this is the first year they have been able to place their order online through a bespoke Christmas ordering website. The new website is fully optimised to work from a mobile phone and around 40% of orders have already been placed using the site.
