Giant Food® launched its first-ever smoothie bar in McLean, VA

Landover, MD, US, 2014-2-6 — /EPR Retail News/ — To continue helping customers adapt healthier lifestyles, Giant Food® has launched its first-ever smoothie bar. This healthy, new in-store addition is located at 1454 Chain Bridge Road in McLean, Va.

“Now, more than ever, folks in this area are constantly on the go. During the course of a fast-paced day, we don’t always remember or find time for the recommended daily servings of fresh fruit, vegetables and protein,” said Lisa Coleman, in-store nutritionist, Giant Food. “The smoothie bar offers a delicious and nutritious breakfast, snack, or post-workout meal that can also help customers fill the gaps in their daily diets.”

Customers can choose from ten fresh, made to order smoothies, including fruit, vegetable or milk/protein-based varieties. Flavors include Berries A’more, Pina Colada, Banana Nut Blast, Java Jolt and Crazy Carrot. In addition, customers can place a custom order with their own favorite flavor combination or try Giant’s featured smoothie of the month. All smoothies come in a 20-ounce size and nutrition information is available for each variety.

There is also a new selection of fresh cut fruits and vegetables. These are available both pre-packaged or prepared and packaged at the customer’s request.

Giant’s McLean store smoothie bar is open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily. For more tips on how to incorporate healthy ideas into your lifestyle, visit http://www.giantfood.com/living_well/healthy_ideas/index.htm.
