Intershop Communications named one of Germany’s best employers according news magazine Focus

Jena, Germany, 2014-2-6 — /EPR Retail News/ — Intershop Communications AG, the leading independent technology provider for omni-channel commerce solutions, ranks among Germany’s best employers. This was one of the findings of a study by the news magazine Focus in cooperation with Xing, the leading professional network in the German-speaking countries, andkununu, the largest German-language employer rating portal. In a comparison of employers in the telecommunications and IT sector, Intershop ranked sixth, while in the IT industry alone it made fourth place, leaving its direct competitors far behind.

“Working at Intershop is a challenge – and it’s fun, too,” says Jochen Moll, CEO of Intershop Communications AG of the company’s fantastic results. “We cultivate an ‘Intershop spirit’, which represents a very special form of cooperation, in our daily work. This spirit plays an important role in our ongoing commitment to customer service, top expertise, and unmatched innovation. The fact that this commitment has been recognized by the outside world just goes to show how consistently we honor it and maintain our focus on our employees’ concerns.”

Employees rank employers, staff members their bosses: In the largest-scale German survey of its kind,Focus collaborated with Xing and kununu to identify the 800 best employers with workforces of more than 500 employees across a total of 22 sectors. What makes this representative survey, which was conducted by Statista, so special is that it is based on both ratings entered by 19,700 employees from all levels and age groups and 23,200 ratings by employers on kununu. Respondents indicated how satisfied they are with the management behavior of their superiors, their career prospects, their salaries, and the image of their employer, among other things. The survey also asked how willing the respondents would be to recommend their own and other employers in the same sector.

“Focus examines what makes employees so happy that they turn in top performances and names the 800 companies with the best working conditions,” says Jörg Quoos, Editor-in-Chief of Focus. “Only companies with employees willing to recommend them to their friends and family earn the ‘Best Employer of 2014’ distinction.”

All results of the employee survey can be found in the Focus-Spezial issue “Germany’s Best Employers” (published January 28, 2014).
